Sand's progress report
Quote from lil chick on January 9, 2024, 11:02 amHi Sand, when I did a search one list put black-eyed peas at number 1 for molybdenum. But two foods that I really like made it to the list, so I just go with them: peanuts and yogurt!
Others here have said they occasionally take a small supplement of it, but I don't trust supplements anymore.
The one thing I still use on my skin is a dab of vaseline to help heal chapping when it happens. It is surprisingly healing considering how badly people talk about it. No VA...

doesn’t the body upregulate PTH to get more Ca out of the bones, if Ca is low? My phosphate is elevated: 1.68mmol/L (normal range 0.75-1.65). What is your conclusion?
@lil-chick I don’t drink alcohol or carbonated beverages. What sources do you recommend for molybdenum?
@inger happy your restless legs went away. I will order your footbath to see if it works. I exfoliate every night, rubbing off the dead, peeling skin, with my fingers. I’m done with all masks, skin care and moisturizers. Nothing has helped for me.
@sand I am excited to hear what you think about the mineral salt bath! Its so crazy with this dry skin issue. Why is that, I do struggle with exact same thing but not on my face, but on my lower legs. Its crazy because I have had it already many years and it just dont go away even if I do peeling and scrubbing and moisturizing etc etc. That way I can keep my skin looking pretty normal but after a day or two its snake like skin again. Thats not normal. I wonder if the vitamin A poison is lurking deep in the skin layers disturbing the whole renewing process, or just making excess skin and simultaneously drying it out. I would so much like to have just normal beautiful skin like normal people ugh. The rest of my body now do have soft and healthy skin, which I am thankful for but my legs just dont budge yet. Maybe we have to wait another year or two.
On the other side maybe we are lucky to have the skin problem because it could be an organ problem that would be way more disturbing. So far all my organs seem to work happily and well. Honestly I would rather have dry skin than diabetes or heart failure or cancer etc.

I came across something today while researching castor oil, which made me think of you. There’s not much research on the therapeutic use of castor oil, but surprisingly there are a couple studies indicating it may be able to soothe dry eyes:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12414410/ (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction)
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32422285/ (Belpharitis)
And here’s a webpage with testimonials from people who tried making their own eye drops from castor oil:
https://natural-alternative-therapies.com/castor-oil-on-face/
I’m going to pass this information on to one other person dealing with dry eyes, and if they decide to try it I’ll let you know.
Hope you’re doing well! 🙂

Quote from sand on April 6, 2024, 11:16 am@puddleduck thank you for this, very kind! I've been increasingly afraid of using any DIY solutions, but if there are any eye drops with castor oil I might try to use it. If that other person uses it, that is interesting to me, thanks again!
Eyedrops with berberine is supposed to be good as well (https://secondlifeguide.com/2024/02/11/treatment-protocol-for-dry-eyes-meibomian-gland-dysfunction/), but I have not those eye drops available to me in my country.

Quote from sand on April 6, 2024, 11:37 amNew update:
I was very dizzy last month, don't know if it was due to high stress both in personal and professional life, but it got me worried. So I went to my GP and took more tests.
Type Measure Unit Range Phosphate 0.92 mmol/L 0.75-1.65 Magnesium 0.77 mmol/L 0.71-1.08 Calcium 2.29 2.18-2.6 Aminotransferase (ALAT) 41 U/L 0-69 Albumin 42 g/L 36-48 B12 529 pmol/L 160-670 Vitamin D 99 nmol/L 50-178 PTH 5.7 pmol/L 1.5-8.5 Homocystein 16 umol/L 0-14 vitamin A 0.49 umol/L 1.05-3.9 My GP advices me to eat more vA, and also says I have mild homocysteinemia and need to supplement with B12, B6 and folate. I've gotten scared and relaxed a bit on how strict I am, I have for example eaten a few things with egg in them, and I also try to eat 150g mackarell once a week to get more fish.
I am very worried about my health, to be honest, something is not right. My dizziness is gone, thankfully, but it seems that something is always off on my blood tests. Last time it was PTH and Calcium (now these seem OK), and now it is homocysteine. FML.

Quote from Bella on April 7, 2024, 3:46 amDo you know how your blood glucose is trending and have you checked your blood pressure when you have these episodes?
I’m genuinely just curious because I’ve had issues with both of those that started in late 2021-2022.
It can be quite scary to experience and recovering from either basically ruins most of the remainder of the day for me. I don’t find that many people in the low vA space talk about blood glucose or blood pressure which if either one is too low can be pretty acutely serious in my experience.

Quote from lil chick on April 8, 2024, 7:32 amMany of us here have experienced dizziness because of inner ear things, and it's a known VA toxicity symptom. It could be that, but who knows.
Calcium makes me wonder about the foot cramps, which also seem to be a thing here. I've got a friend who is also having foot cramps and she is not even a VA reduction person. I sort of wonder if calcium and foot cramp problems could be part of the underlying damage, ie the so-called auto-immune issues at hand. For me keeping the feet warm is important. Sometimes the tendons in the feet are like little jumping beans. The whole feet and ankle area is so tight and unstretchy.
I sort of wonder if sunning might help with the foot cramps/calcium problems.
