@eio can you imagine how high it must have been before I started low A diet? I don't want to even think about..

@jiri I would have liked to know my before level, too.  I feel great these days so I haven't visited a doctor to ask for a test.  I know I could order the test on my own but it  doesn't seem necessary.  Maybe someday I will find out that it is basically normal like yours and some other people who have spent years eating a low A diet.  Grant G. is certainly an exception because he has made a true effort to avoid all sources.

Seven years? I'm still within the normal range, too. I've been doing this for six years. How did Grant manage to get into the deficient range in just a couple of years?! And here we are, the plebs, dragging along. *shaking my head*

Grant doesn't eat eggs.

I don't eat eggs but I admit I did eat a Tablespoon of ice cream daily for a while.

I had quite a quick bad reaction to ice cream (dizzy, head hurting, lack of co-ordination) - this document on nutrition says that ice cream contains carrageenan, on page 18 (I would not follow the document for a low vitamin A diet, especially the comments on liver).  May be ice cream has lots of problematic things in it: the vitamin A, hormones, carrageenan, colourings and flavourings so it has a big impact.
