Skin Redness in Low Carbers

PreviousPage 2 of 2

She has aged horrible. Sunken eyes, poor skin texture, face looks swollen she looks like a Michellin man.

Another point aboht Tufano, he uses tanning beds. The UVB can help the skin get rid of VA. You can see a study I posted about that in the other section. I would go out in the sun early morning for red light and half an hour during peak hours for uvb. My skin would look decent until I ate more liver and the cycle starts again lol.

I couldn’t agree more Guest! Bella

Frank Tufano also took accutane because he suffered from acne before which must have been severe. He also used to eat tons of sweet potatoes before he started carnivore. He's one of the people who influenced me last year to add more liver which started my health crisis.

I feel bad for him, he's still very young but suffers from serious issues now. Insomnia is no joke. He can't even eat an egg without reaction that's ridiculous. He will definetly have more problems when he is in his 30s as he's doing a lot uncessary damage to himself. I blame it on those wester pricers brainwashing him with all that nutrient density bs.

At that age you can tolerate more abuse. I think this is where individual response to VA comes into play with each person's liver detoxing this toxin in a different way. Mine seems to send it directly to the skin on my face. My relative for example has perfect skin but is suffering with crohn (he's also mid twenties). I think eventually the symptoms will become more widespread and both external/internal organs will be effect no matter what the clinical name of the disease is.

Also, people who take accutane tend to have good skin for years and years. Until they report eczema later on life, fertility issues and others "side effects" .

All in all, I think Tufano is well presented but he is giving very dangerous advice. Check the documentary posted in the other thread about Sweden and osteoporosis. They consume tons of cod liver oil, fish and cheeses. He doesn't understand that health isn't about nutrient density but about avoiding poisoning. Your gut bacteria can produce most the nutrients for you without much help

Lol no we do not consume tons of cod liver oil. You can't really find it. If you want to buy it you have to import. We have one product "Möllers Tran" which is the closest thing and that is a very low vit A product compared to cod liver oil and I have yet to this day never met anyone who eats it. Also, most people I know do not take any supplements at all.

However taking DHA and/or fish oil NOT from fish livers is fairly common and/or eating fish a few times a week. Those products have no vit A in them.

Overall milk products are common, most eat them, especially quark/cottage cheese is trendy now because protein is good and carbs are evil, right? 😬 You can find a big variety of flavored quark sweetened with aspartame or similar synthetic crap. And no our milk products are not fortified with vit A. Some are fortified with vit D though. We do not eat as much cheese as other countries i.e. the swiss or france. Most use it on a sandwhich a slice or two.

Nice good to know Liz. I was just going off the old documentary posted in the other section not personal experience. That's the conclusion one researcher came to linking diet to osteoporosis.

About Kwaśniewski Optimal diet from first post. There are places in Poland where you stay for 10 days and they provide you with all foods and teach you how to do Optimal diet. I was once there 2 years ago. Diet get 80% of calories from fat, in particular pork fat, dairy and minimum 2 egg yolks per day. I loved how little I needed to eat to reach 2000 calories per day. But I did not liked that Kwaśniewski basically did not care about hormonal health, in one interview he literally say: "thyroid is hard so I did not look into it too much"... He also said that it "easy to see who is on Optimal diet" because they skin have specific color and texture... People on this diet also looks puffy, then I thought that it's because they eat too little carbs and thyroid is not able to work properly (problems with water retention) but now I don't know any more.

Yeah i saw that too and was a bit surprised to hear/see it. The rest of it ofc makes sense. But clearing natural foods and only blame supplements... However, we used to supp our milk with vitamin a. We also used to give AD drops to infants and small children but now it is "only" D that is given.

And in 2018 it was decided all non dairy milk products now must be enriched with vitamin d.

Have they not learned anything?!?

These things are probably related to our osteoporose "mysterium" 🙄

Fish and fish oil have high levels of naturally occuring vitamin A. As does milk and dairy products. Sweden has the second highest milk consumption in the world, only second to Finland.

I had acne as a teenager but by 20 my skin was perfectly clear white complexion. Never took anything it just magically cleared up when I simplified my diet ( ate less and started working out). Then I started bodybuilding. There used to be a popular diet back then called "the anabolic diet" basically keto with a carb up day. The best of both of world lol. I would eat meat, pork, bacon, eggs, spinach and lots lots of cheese during weekdays and on weekend it was refeed day with ... Sweet potatoes and butter. I am not kidding. I think I did that for over 6 months but when I stopped I kept most of the food selection. By age 26 I had full blown red cheeks and other weird skin discoloration on my face (darker skin, different tones) . I guess you can call it Rosacea or whatever. I am middle eastern decent this condition is literally non existent in my family tree. It's still there just like a permanent stamp

Dermatologist love to blame this one on genetics, they usually attribute it to northern Europeans especially the Irish. I think it's bullshit because you can google and see that the condition is now increasing everywhere on the world.

I think keto/paleo/carnivore are stupid diets. Cutting out proven staples like white starches is completely needless and potentially harmful in the long term. However, there is also the factor of food selection.

I have seen certain carnivores from YouTube do extremely well on just steak and water. Others who incorporate organ meat, dairy (yes even raw.. )  and eggs still have tons of allergies and problems. None of them can explain this and would never dream that it could be the VA.

Don't forget most keto people push salads as well with colorful veggies and things like kale that I used to eat. I think those are the absolute worst.

Ron

Beta-Carotene esspecially when exposed to heat (by cooking) is actually the worst.

But I am now rethinking my assumption that beta carotene is a pigment and a plants defense mechanism. What  If conversion of beta carotene, by ruminants and their bacteria, to retinol actually makes it a nutrient which we later destroy by cooking and pasteurization?

What are the effects of heat and cooking on retinol in raw animal foods?

I think that pork is actually very problematic because pigs (as humans and all other non ruminants) don't have the ability of converting carotene into retinol.

Fish oil in its natural state yes. But not epa/dha supplements that have been molecular distilled. I.e Eskimo3 is such a product (also ISO certified). It is one of the cleanest ones on the market. In their kids version vitamin D has been added afterwards as the natural ocurring has been removed. No vit A.
