The Seborrheic Dermatitis thread

I've tried ACV before, when I thought I struggled with seb derm. It didn't work then, but what I'm experiencing now, with the peeling, is something different, so maybe it will work now, who knows! Tom Busby from rosaceagroup, link above, always said that there were two types of seb derm, fungus induced, and not fungus induced. That one seb derm type reacted positively to coconut oil, for example, but the other, Malassezia induced, type, got worse by applying coconut oil, because the fungus feeds on the longer chained fatty acids.
Anyway, I bought the hydrogen peroxide 6%, so I'm giving this a go!

Quote from sand on December 3, 2022, 1:30 amOk, I've tried hydrogen peroxide for 1 week now. I just dab my finger in the bottle, and rub it all over my cheeks and forehead, 2 hours before I go to bed. Also, I've put some antifungal on the same areas, right before hitting bed. I must say, the peeling has substantially decreased. I used this antifungal alone before starting with the hydrogen peroxide, without much success, so I would attribute the results to the hydrogen peroxide. It still peels a little bit, and skin is very dry. But now, this is manageable. I can live, and my skin is less red. I do not experience much burning, if any, but I use the 6%.
@tim-2 how long did it take you to see effects, and did you gradually taper down?
I remember Grant talking about extreme peeling and dry skin as well in the beginning of his detox. The connection seb derm + excess VA in skin is interesting! If anybody can shed some more light on this, it would be awesome.Â
