Things that have been improved with the low Vitamin A diet

Page 1 of 3Next

Sometimes it is hard to keep track of all the things that people have improved from individual logs, so I thought maybe we could make a thread where people can list out things that have been improved.

I can start:

New hair growth is seemingly smoother and less frizzy. However, I want to wait for more hair to grow before I can say this for sure.

I had a persistent pimple on my chest that seemed to go away/lessen

Accessory nails on my pinky toes lessened

Less of a fuzzy head feeling - although this might just be due to dairy avoidance

A bit less anxiety/better at expressing myself, although this is not for sure either...

Good thread leap7. I hope to see a lot of good reports here. How long have you been low or zero A?

Two years passed this month. 1) Anxiety is down 2) Tinnitus gone 3) Clear, sharp vision every day. 4) Incurable inflammatory skin condition in remission without steroids. 5) Beaus lines gone 6) Last liver enzyme tests normal. 7) Dream every night, no more insomnia, 8 hrs sleep. 8) Tolerate sun well, no sunburn. 9)  Generally happier, calmer, lots of energy. 10) A1c normal, was 5.1 last check, was borderline type 2 diabetes with fasting sugars over 125.

I don't handle much starch well, what got me past the 8 month stall was eliminating most of them.   How has everyone else improved? What was the most life changing improvement?

It has been nearly 3 years low VA.

Things that have improved:

Hardly sensitive to sun - used to wipe me out, skin discolouration under arms gone, elbow skin smooth and not dry, heel cracks gone and smooth, intracranial pressure hugely improved, no need to visit osteopath for back/neck issues, minor odd aches and pains gone, inside mouth upper ridgelines now aligned, insomnia hugely improved...

Low(<200 IU) Vit A diet is very good in fixing ED(eating disorder) without weight gain. 😉 I've found that fruits should be kept low too(probably due to the fructose content or whatever .. maybe flavonoids and or vit C).

I have 6 scars, 2 on my knee and 4 on each finger of my right hand. I got them when I fell off my bike as a child. Today I found out that the one on the little finger has healed, and one on the knee. And yes, I also found that my hair became smoother.

How many years ago did you fall of your bike? And how old are you now? It seems age does not matter for this scar repair!!!!

I am 69 and found out that the scars on my retina, which happened before my birth, are nearly gone! Some scars on my shoulder, which happened 5 years ago, are much better but still very large. Maybe it is a question of size, hence your little finger? Or maybe depends on the position.

I am happy for you @daniil Maybe all kinds of internal invisible scars are being healed too!

I am now 22 (recently turned). I earned the scars, I think, at the age of 13. And this is only 2 months with a low VA + about six months without PUFA. I also had dark spots on my chest, which I earned while trying to raise my vitamin D. And they are also almost gone.

By the way, I was also able to normalize my cerruloplasmin.

The other scars also seem to have shrunk. But this is not sure. Interestingly, they were white all the time, and now they have become pink. They may also pass soon.
