Things that have been improved with the low Vitamin A diet

PreviousPage 2 of 3Next

Wow, I would really love to see my acne scars go away and the age pigmentation in places (I'm in my forties). I remember a cousin showing me how a very old scar of his went away when he spent several weeks heavily juicing vegetables including carrots (!). I was raised eating tons of vegetables and got the acne when I went away to college and started eating all the seed oil-cooked junk. Which led me to set up a carrot juicer in my dorm and ultimately use accutane after a few years of retin-a and juicing. Would you share exactly what you're eating that is helping heal your skin?

Sure. I drink coffee with sugar, white sourdough bread, egg whites, various boiled meats, refined coconut oil, chocolate, pears. And, by the way, recently I started squeezing lemon juice. Sometimes I take VB1, VE, VK2 MK7, calcium carbonate.

Thank you. That is very helpful!

Good thread leap7. I hope to see a lot of good reports here. How long have you been low or zero A?

Hello (so sorry for late response!) I've known of the low vitamin A diet since January of 2020 and started the diet then. However, I have not been consistently low vitamin A. I recently went off the diet for about a month, and there have been a few times where I questioned the diet and went back to eating more vitamin A for a few days. Now, for the most part, I am following a low vit A diet, with occasional cheats when I eat out.

It has been nearly 3 years low VA.

Things that have improved:

Hardly sensitive to sun - used to wipe me out, skin discolouration under arms gone, elbow skin smooth and not dry, heel cracks gone and smooth, intracranial pressure hugely improved, no need to visit osteopath for back/neck issues, minor odd aches and pains gone, inside mouth upper ridgelines now aligned, insomnia hugely improved...

Hi mokus, can you tell us more about the inside mouth upper ridgelines aligning? Did you notice changes to your jaw or facial structure?

Also, my eye color has changed slightly from yellow to dark green. And the brown spots on the iris have decreased. I like this one better. I wonder why this is happening.

It feels like carotenoids are stuck in my iris and now they are leaving. They are just yellow. LOL.

Interesting that you mention that.

I remember having really blue eyes as a kid. Then I remember around age 14, that my eyes had more of a yellow around the pupil/hazel kind of look. I looked in the mirror and I see a slight yellowish ring around my pupil but not how I remember it when it was at the most yellow.

yes, my yellowness seems to shift to the pupil, and a dark green color appears at the edges

@daniil and @armin After six months on the low vA diet I posted this:

My husband's eyes (irises) and mine have turned bright blue recently! I used to have one blue eye and one greenish one.

The new blue is peculiar, it is the same for both of us, a kind of light sapphire, cornflower blue. And very transparent and cristal-like.

We have been on the diet for just over 6 months.

I wonder if different blood groups get different problems. All my siblings and their children as well as I are 0 negative and badly hit by this VA stuff.

I should also note that your teeth can definitely remineralize. In the last couple of weeks, I've been watching my caries on my front tooth change. It looks like a thin, growing white crust. There is a fight going on. It is necessary not to eat hard food and not to pick, otherwise it will break and you will have to start over. But in the last couple of days, progress has been noticeable. Apples definitely worsen the process. I'm not sure why this is happening. I've already stopped taking K2. I have progress where I don't expect it.
