BREATH This book will change your life (100%, "overnight")

Page 1 of 11Next

Just finished the book. I practice the various things he writes about for 20+ years and my health has always been and is perfect; I have never found the "words" to explain the subject correctly (actually it is not possible to find such words as it goes much much deeper than just "health" but anyway I have never been able to convince most people to actually exit their "mind" and really do the things to just "see" by themselves how powerful it is. The few people who have actually done it are witnesses of the power of breathing (no matter what some people think, breathing is the most basic and essential "health" (much more than that actually) component and people who think otherwise have really no clue about human physiology). I can guarantee this works. I wished to write a book like this one, now it already exists. If you apply what is written there you will be fine whatever ails you (it applies also to "A" toxicity as you will detoxify much much more rapidly and you will not intoxicate yourself again once healed).

I will not "debate" here about it, if you want to restore your health, then buy this book, read it, and apply its wisdom. "Talking" about it is completely useless, you have to DO the work and to SEE (ie EXPERIENCE) benefits and "miracles" by yourself. Then you will try to talk about it to other people but they will not care, that's how it works. In summary, simply go and try it.

Basically, this is THE book to read if you want to restore your health and keep it fine your whole life:

Breath by James Nestor

Wish you all well.

thanks, just bought it. i've been trying to practice deep breathing because of your breathing post. It got put on hold because of the bad air in california and only have been doing it lately in front of a hepa filter 😀

Very interesting book. Thank you @Dino for bringing this.

I have long been interested in the subject ands think that Breath is crucial in this VA puzzle. It is a powerful way to help us adapt but there is a slippery slope.

This also goes for posture (think of the atlas repositioning to affect the balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic modes).

Very delicate.

It is widely thought as a more of this or more of that. The Truth is in the middle: what happens between the two. Once you are stuck on one side, not only are you stuck on that side, but you rarely get to pass through the middle. The middle being the place of regeneration, not going there sends you downhill pretty fast.

Middle = sushumna, thiamine, Vitamin K, Bains derivatifs, nitric oxide, Time when all this come together to allow DNA connection and repair.

Even though I had found out all this, I could only approach real results, or they did not last. Because I was piling on VA and carotenoids in my food!

@ggenereux2014 has provided the missing clue for me. This VA discovery is HUGE!

I think @leap7 who is interested in the shape of her face and jaws might find the book interesting. I told her that availability of Vitamin K by getting rid of VA would fix it but maybe a bit of breath work would speed things up.

Anyway, I start a 40 days practice of pranayama today! Thank you for inspiring me!

@ourania Thanks for the tag! I will check out the book.

I have the book on order from my library.

I just finished reading this very well put together book.

I noticed that the mouth breathing position that is so dangerous is a way to adapt, a wrong way if it becomes chronic. It is interesting to remember that this is the position of Thiamine Deficiency, the "star gazing" position of cattle and birds when they are thiamine deprived. After two years of heavy Thiamine supplementation my back was straight again, and the star gazing position comes back from time to time with too much VA detox, which means VA definitely reduces severely availability of thiamine. Maybe VA is at the root of Thiamine Deficiency.

You can lose your neurological balance by breathing the wrong way and regain it by correct breathing, but if you load up on Poison A not only there is no way you can achieve balance, but also there is no way you can regain it unless you stop eating VA.

I was in that sad predicament, did all there is in the book for years, with big improvements that could not last.

After all, some great gurus have been successfully poisoned by their enemies, there are limits to what the body can bear.

Happy reading!

I saw a clip of the author from the joe rogan show where he talked about some mouth guard he was wearing while sleeping. And it apparently expanded his jaw or something.

So you're saying you've been independently wearing this mouth guard for 20 years?

Could you give a cliff notes of what this book is about. What are the important bits.

@ourania  Does the book talk about the Thiamine deficiency?  I resemble the head forward position.   Since I am trying to learn fast here, but I'm a busy mom of a 10th grader who is schooling at home while we are trying to research new high schools (online) and think about how that fits into his college future--I'm just not able to keep up.  So that's my apology for asking so many questions on here. I'm just trying to keep my toes in the water and I try to understand what I'm going to do about this whole new proposition (Low A Diet)

So, the stargazing position is head forward, mouth open?  (I knew a lot about this:  my orthodontic history came back to bite me... I'm 46 years old and still having discussions with orthodontists because this affects my neck.  I even have a permanent dislocation of my clavicle which is a downstream effect of the sum total of all my problems.)

So, are you saying that when you do a vA detox, more vA comes into your blood (like out of your fat stores?) and then you get a clinical thiamine deficiency?

If this thiamine deficiency viz. thiamin is not discussed in this breathing book, where did you learn that?

@diogenes  If you are able, could you provide a clip to the Joe Rogan show you mention?

Hi @rachel-2 I'm not very technical but I have gleaned the fact that certain nutrients are used up detoxing VA, and some of the B vities are in that category.  So some people here take the B vities, in hopes that their lack won't be a bottleneck to detoxifying.

Very often, people link B vitamin supplementation with benefits to VA-type problems, such as this one:  https://ggenereux.blog/discussion/topic/ribovlavin-in-cyclic-vomting-and-migraine/     Which is super interesting.

I'd sworn off all supplements, but this week I've been dabbling just a bit with riboflavin, because of the study cited in that thread.   I have found that riboflavin "stirs the pot".    (other examples of things that "stir the pot" are beans, sunshine, alcohol...)  (things that stir the pot are almost always related somehow)  (often it is best to keep pot-stirring to a dull roar for comfort's sake).

Some might wonder if VA toxicity is due to lacking vitamins.  Chicken and egg, I suppose.  But whose life is perfectly vitamin-replete?  And whose life is VA free?   So we may never know.  But IMO once you are VA overloaded, you aren't going to get rid of it by continuing to snarf VA down!  Even if you take loads of vities.  🙂
