What is going on here

@tar. I am new here and I am sorry you had bad results with this approach. When you thought you were detoxing, was there any sign like yellow poop (retinol is yellow) that you were excreting vitamin A from your body?

Don't get me wrong, I think cutting vitamin A is the right approach.  I still avoid it although I am not as stringent as I used to be. Some people seem to just get better and better as time goes on.  But if you don't, the wrong approach is thinking that it will just take 1...2...3 years of eating beans and totally avoiding VA to solve the problem.  Something else is probably going on there.

My bad results were around breathing.  Asthma just became worse and worse until I started addressing other things

@tar This is where Garrett Smith’s work is going now. As you say some people just need to reduce vA but others may need more. I’ve been listening to lots of talks on liver function and have a list of potential problems (mould is one). From my current understanding, vA toxicity causes cholestasis (liver stops secreting bile/toxins well) and this in turn makes vA toxicity worse. Chicken and egg. I’ve said elsewhere that I think some people mess up their liver due to vA toxicity whereas others get vA toxicity due to a messed up liver. Probably everyone has an element of both. People who are more the latter category may need to address what upset their liver in the first place as well as the vA toxicity.

I see this as where the vA toxicity project joins to the nutritional therapy I studied for the 3 years before. All connected. VA toxicity is the huge missing part that nutritional therapists don’t see. They do all the right things and then give high vA supplements/diet recommendations that make it all worse. Sad. Forever on the hamster wheel and never reaching full recovery. I know that the head of research at Biocare supplements has chronic fatigue!

PS People talking sense about this include Garrett Smith, Chris Shade and Jay Davidson. The latter two have products to sell but the science still worth listening to imo. Chris Shade has numerous talks on YouTube. Jay Davidson has just done a talk on the chronic inflammation summit all about the central role of bile flow in health.
