Carnivore and Bile Acid Malabsorption
Quote from Inger on March 5, 2023, 6:40 amI just came across this video, the longest eating carnivore women I have seen on video so far, and I must say.. I think she looks not healthy at all 🙁 she is 55 yo and has done carnivore 22 years...
My mom is 71 and looks way healthier, on an omnivore pretty healthy diet with an egg every day for breakfast, meat and fish, veggies, grains, spelt... potatoes etc. also some sweets yeah. mom to 15 kids.
Wen I look at this women in the video I get an eerie feeling that this is where i would have been heading if I had not included other foods... that tired look, kinda poisoned, I am very sure it is a slowly poisoning state of the body as the liver will get more and more stuffed... adrenals shot, too much iron... maybe also vitamin A...

Quote from Inger on March 5, 2023, 6:43 amI am pretty sure she has iron overload, from judging on her look too. I really hate to judge peoples looks.. but in this case I have to do it - our inner state and health will eventually show up on the outside. So we get clues through that, are we on the right path or not...
Edit: this video made me ever more sure about, that going carnivore is a great short time fix for most things, but it just does not really heal the root problem. Like Michaila Peterson, she cant have any thing at all unless it is meat, or she suffers so bad. She still have really bad allergies to pollen so she recently had to move to another state, and that has not healed with the lion diet at all.
If carnivore were the perfect diet then it should heal the body no? But it just take away symptoms as long as you eat only meat.

You have 14 siblings?
I agree with you but at the same time we have to be careful judging a diet because of how someone looks. Often people follow diets because they have poorer health than average and we also don't know anything about her and what level of stress she has experienced.

yes I have 14 siblings @tim. I just need to search for clues about how things work so I include looks too in that, and my intuition about what I feel when i look at something. That is how i try navigate my way through life intelligently. I pair that with my own experience and what I see in the mirror in me. But of course you are right in that there is so much we dont know. That will always be the case. Still, I learn from using my senses more that from reading any book really.... but maybe because I am a woman 😉 🙂

Quote from tim on March 5, 2023, 7:08 amA high intake of heme iron will definitely promote iron overload and I am strongly against a carnivore diet but I think iron overload often also has a lot to do with one's state of health and the status of vitamin A and D and the B vitamins. I think with normalization of vitamin A status, sunbathing or use of a Sperti lamp and a diet rich in B vitamins that it's possible that serum ferritin can be lowered. I don't have enough evidence to say that it works yet though. Riboflavin deficiency causes iron and copper to be bio-unavailable.

Quote from Retinoicon on March 5, 2023, 7:16 amI had never heard of Lori, the 22-year carnivore, who is now 55 years old. Thanks for the pointer. I would say she is less attractive than the young woman, Lillie, interviewing her but maybe that is obvious. To those saying Lori doesn't look perfectly healthy, what aspects of Lori's face could be more healthy looking? Could you be specific?

Quote from Jiří on March 5, 2023, 7:38 amWell she basically drinks coffee in the morning and than has one meat meal for dinner. Put this diet into cronometer and see what is missing. The basic stuff. I am not even talking about all kinds of micro minerals that we need.. She looks like she is under chronic stress. Which makes sense she needs chronically elevated cortisol due to lack of carbs in her diet. But who cares. IF she had really bad autoimmune issues and now she can be somewhat ok good for her.. The key issue here is that she probably never searched what is the root cause of her issues. So she has to stay on this crazy limited diet forever and she will never feel like she has a lot of energy, feels good etc..

She implies in the video that she feels great. She does a lot of exercise, which isn't typical of someone with low energy.

@retinoicon, Lori is attractive in that she has a very cute face and smile and all, that is not about that at all!
It is her skin color, her mouth and teeth, the wrinkles around her lips, the tired looking eyes, like she has adrenal fatigue.
I think she has some gum inflammation going on. And she has that greytone in her skin that is not healthy, to me it looks like too much iron, and that explains the gum/teeth issues too.
I also had some gum issues that I could not understand, after all I was eating carnivore and that was supposed to heal gum disease? I just had one spot that was an issue for many years and my dentist said it is because of how the teeth are located but I was not satisfied with it. And lo and behold, now eating beans it is improving without me doing anything else!
I also had that adrenal fatigue look....
I listened to the whole video and she also eats liver regularly. Which will worsen iron overload too! And of course the vitamin A toxicity with eggs and butter that she also eats.
I have watched my own face and body and I just see a lot of people as I am a waitress. So I am used to see faces, bodies all the time. And if something starts to not look age appropriate, or not looking healthy anymore, I notice. In me, and in others.

Quote from Jiří on March 5, 2023, 7:54 am@jeremy Great that she doesn't suffer. She probably meant.. You need to realize that people forget how it feels to really feel good. Because it's not like you are 20yo super healthy, feeling crazy good and next day you are 55 feeling like shit.. It is very slow and gradual decline. So we don't even notice that we are a fucking mess. It is exactly like that experiment with frog. If you put frog into hot water that frog will jump out immediately, but if you put that frog into cold water and you start boiling that water slowly. That frog will stay there and dies in boiling water.. I mean look at that woman and her skin color and the eyes. She tries to be strong, but she is suffering.. Btw when you exercise your body will dump more stress hormones to the blood=you feel more energetic, more live.. Even people with chronic fatigue still exercise. Because that is the only time when they feel ok.. I experience that as well..
