For me that means butter, but any fat that's low VA, and your body is OK with, should work.

Cooked meat makes me constipated. Raw meat doesn't cause this problem.

I don't know what the nett health effect is. More A, but more defense to A? It's hard to draw a line, I think, about how much A is acceptable.

I've just been having butter when I crave it. I'm trying to honor my bodies signals. I apparently still have plenty of A in my system according to blood tests but I figure there is something in butter that my body wants periodically. I spent far too many years eating according to what I was convinced was healthy that I now have a new found respect for listening to my own cravings. If butter sounds good and you don't have any negative reactions I personally wouldn't worry about it. I did have negative reactions earlier on in the A depletion process but now it seems fine. Ultimately we have to listen to our bodies and intuition in this process I think.

I just added butter back to my diet and I think it was the missing piece to feel better. Butter seems to have a positive effect on my mental health. It helps with motivation and satiety. I don't know which component of butter does this, but for me the net health effect is definately positive.

Cravings can be hard to interpret. You could be craving butter for one thing, but the negative things in it might still outweigh the positives. Maybe your body just wants more fat for example, I'm just speculating.

Personally I always start craving pizza whenver I'm in a calorie deficit for too long. I don't believe it's because there is something unique to pizza that I really need. My body just knows that it is an extremely calorie-dense food with plenty of carbs, fat and protein, and many micronutrients too. Of course if I "obey" that craving I will feel awful, because of the vitamin a.

Butter seems to have a positive effect on me as well.
