I apparently still have plenty of A in my system according to blood tests but I figure there is something in butter that my body wants periodically. I spent far too many years eating according to what I was convinced was healthy that I now have a new found respect for listening to my own cravings. If butter sounds good and you don't have any negative reactions I personally wouldn't worry about it. I did have negative reactions earlier on in the A depletion process but now it seems fine. Ultimately we have to listen to our bodies and intuition in this process I think.
It's tricky to me, and it seems the tricky thing about A. It seems to me that A creeps up in your body incrementally, and you don't really notice anything in the short run. If you get an acute reaction, it's clear that you took too much at once, but I'm unsure what the cumulative effect is when you take little doses of A everytime. If I would be absolutely sure it wouldn't affect my health long-term, I'd go for it. Maybe if I'm doing the low A thing for longer, I get a better feeling of what I can do or not.

I didn’t feel good at all early on when I had butter. I’d say it was at least 6 months before I felt ok with having some occasionally. I’m sure everyone is different though.

Which kinds of fat do you have without VA?

Quote from Guest on March 17, 2019, 1:13 pm@john I eat a lot of organic potato chips made with organic sunflower/safflower oil. Some might consider that unhealthy, but I feel quite good eating like this. I also eat beef, bison, potatoes, and limited amounts of rice.

Quote from eliza1275 on March 21, 2019, 6:00 amThere is a local grocery near me in NH that carries ground bison and bison steaks. The bison steaks aren't too good, in my opinion - tough and very lean.

I feel like I have a rock in my abdomen. I have suffered from IBS-C for years and have use magnesium and prune juice which has been effective. However, prune juice does contain some VA. I rarely eat starchy foods so this is no doubt the problem. Any suggestions?
I've been drinking freshly made parsnips juice for a few days. It's taken care of my extremely sluggish digestive system. I've suffered from IBS-C for many years. I plan on drinking a cup of juice daily and will see if the changes I've experienced continue.
All the best!
