So I just discovered I have chipped a tooth. One of my wisdom molars. Never in my life have I had any issues with my teeth and I have not even eaten anything hard enough to brake it. What the h*ll is going on here? It was fine yesterday and i've only had soft foods today. Anyone experienced something similar?

I dont supplement with calcium, boron or magnesium (the latter only on occation)  but I eat a wide variety of foods. Started zeolite some 8 days ago and wee has a strong odor to it so am detoxing some nasty shit at least.

Anyone have any theory?

Seems sensible to be a bit wary of Zeolite since it could be interfering with mineral absorption. And I wonder how much protein you're getting.

I’m not sure what to think about zeolite. It took it a few times and the first couple of days it seemed to help especially with my bleeding gums. I stopped it though when my bleeding gums came back and I started feeling worse. I’ve been on an antibiotic about a week now and my gums finally seem healed so maybe it was just an infection that needed treatment all along. Sorry to go off topic.

Sometimes off topic is still really on topic. I'd go activated charcoal before Zeolite and maybe Vitamin C?

Thank you, I was using up to 8 grams of C per day to help the bleeding gums for several months. It helped but it was hard to keep up with that amount when I was away from home for work. Once I’m finished with the antibiotic I’ll test out charcoal and maybe zeolite again. I’ve always liked activated charcoal.

I eat adequate protein. Can eat 2lbs in one day but usually i eat about half a kilo/1lb meat per day.

I take vit C daily, between 3-10g probably depending on my mood to swallow sour products that day.

Zeolite has not given me any syntoms besides smelly pee (according to gr G it is detox) and for zeolite to cause a chipped tooth in one week seems far fetched to me at least.

@bella it is probably a good idea to listen to your body. If you started feeling bad on zeolite stopping it was wise. It could be the dose or the timing was not right for you at that time. Or, which is probably far fetched too, a detox reaction (bacterial infection). Impossible to say. Regarding vit K, yes I get some (from grass fed beef (and butter when I have it) , cauliflower, light green veggies like cabbage or peeled cucumber), migt not be enough...

I have just survived the worst night in a long time. Two nights ago I got a fever, and all yesterday I was at home waiting for it to pass. Last night fever rose to 39,5 and then this morning it has dropped back to current 37,2. I never get sick. And i dont think it was the flu because I did not have any flu symptoms. Could have been a detox reaction (from hell!) but again, impossible to say. The only detox symtoms I have had regarding vit A is more like cold-symtoms. This was something entirely different.

@Liz, I have supplemental vitamin K2 1-2x per week currently and I feel like it is beneficial. I’ve seen some research over the years that it’s important for bones (my obsession) and read numerous anecdotes about it helping remineralize teeth. Maybe you could run it by Dr. G and see what he thinks? If you were on antibiotics during your recent surgery those can deplete vitamin K by killing off gut flora.

I hope you are fully recovered from your sickness!

I have thought about it, since I used to get a shitload of K2 from all my veggies and now I dont. But I reallt want to get away from the whole supplement use if not absolutely necessary. I mean, grant has bern super strict for years and he hasnt lost his teeth :/ Probably should get tested but that is too darn expensive - _-Will have to think  about that.

We are very restrictive with antibiotics in my country, cant remember last time I had any, and after surgery i had a one dose at one occation only, (or none at all, was quite drugged up so memory is a bit fuzzy), since I was a healthy non-risk patient. Could be it wiped out my k2 producing flora. Will have to google it.

Off topic: A study will start where they will treat women with endometriosis with a certain antibiotics which is quite cool, they did a study on mice which was promising, another reason to stay away from hormones at least.

Edit: sauerkraut!!! I had totally forgotten about sauerkraut!! That is a double whammy, vitamin K and friendly bacteria.  If fever remains low today I'll go buy some (raw, refridgerated). Tastes like ass though 🙄

Yeah, I completely understand wanting to avoid supplements as much as possible. I’m sure you already know but Fluoride rinse does strengthen enamel if you’re not opposed to rinsing with it daily. I know that it’s controversial but figured I’d mention it. My goal is to keep my teeth (and bones) strong because my mom started loosing both at my age. I hope and pray that all of us here are successful in improving and maintaining our health.

You ard right @bella. I totally understand if you have a family history of losing bone and teeth. My dads teeth has cracked /chipped for years now resulting in a lot of expensive dentist visits, I have no doubt vit A is behind his issues. He use fluoride toothpaste and fluoride rinse. I use neither and have not for 10 years or so. This chipped tooth, got to be vit a detox issue. I see no other explanation as I've never had teeth issues in my life. I have had periods of quite severe detox issues too which happens when more get out than can be gotten rid off. Then you are "marinating" in the stuff, as dr G puts it. Quite a marinade..

Might overthink getting back on fluoride toothpaste at least temporarily. Thanks for the tip Bella 🙂

You might try xylitol. A lot of toothpaste companies have shifted to xylitol rather than flouride because it is safe and it kills bacteria. Fluoride is extremely toxic. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol that tastes and performs like sugar in recipes but I avoid it because it gives me digestive issues if I eat much. I noticed that a tablet I was using for dry mouth listed xylitol as the first ingredient. Since the tablets contained colors and flavors that may have vitamin A, I started using just a tiny pinch of xylitol at night instead. It works very well.
