Do any of you know the Liver King?

Interesting to hear how the eggs go. I’m pretty convinced I’d run into choline deficiency so I’m back having eggs again. Not that much vA compared to some other foods, like liver! Lots of nutrition. I don’t worry about moderate amounts of vA anymore but would never eat excess.

Exactly. I think if we should eat some food that is moderate in vit A it is egg yolks.. I will do ground beef with 2-3 whole eggs. It will be delicious. 🙂 Btw he was asked many times about vit A toxicity and he said every time if you have all fat soluble vitamins you will be ok. I think is is right that it will be hard to get toxicity if you always have plenty of vit D from the sun and also zinc from the meat.. But many people get toxic from supplements and accutane. Think about it when you take accutane you can't go on the sun anymore and you automatically create imbalance between vit A and D... It would be interesting to do some human experiments where some people would take larger amounts of retinol palmitate same form like in the liver and they would live somewhere in the tropics where they get sun many hours a day on a whole body and they would make sure that they have good amount of zinc daily from supplements and or red meat... I mean liver king is eating INSANE amount of retinol. Like 100 000iu + every day.. I am wrong not every day. He is doing water fasts with his familly actually. 2 days a week and 5 days every 3 months for longevity benefits.. I think I will start with 36 hours weekly fast as well. I finished 4 days fast now.. Felt really bad. It is too long for me, but 36 hours seems ideal. I will stop eating after dinner on saturday 7 pm and start eat eating 7 am on monday.. Fasting has crazy health benefits.. It is much better to do fast here and there. It will not slow down/damage your metabolism like daily calorie restriction can..

It's fun to raise chickens for eggs, and then you can be in charge of what they eat.  All eggs differ.

Dr. Paul Saladino kind of fits this profile. He eats liver and fruits with a lot of carotenoids and surfs for hours a day in the Costa Rico.

@chris-4 I really wonder if I am still vit A toxic after 3 years of low vit A diet + now I was 3 months in Croatia during the summer.. Some competent people should really look in to this. How much can vit D really deplete vit A from the body.. It looks like Grant doesn't get much sun exposure. So on one side you have Grant who had serious health issues from eating normal diet. No accutane or vit A supplements or some crazy carnivore diet etc.. and on the other side you have people who are on the sun like 10 hours a day, eat INSANE amounts of retinol for years and have no health issues?? What is going on here.. How Grant and Smith can say that vit A is a poison? Liver king should be dead right now. Saladino should be on his death bed etc..

The use of the word poison is not helpful at all imo. VA is a poison in EXCESS. This is the vital point. People have been eating vA for ever. It’s the excess in a climate of reduced detoxification capacity due to such factors as glyphosate exposure. That’s when it all goes wrong. More IN and less OUT equals overload. If sun allows more excretion then it allows more in without detrimental effects.

Using the term ‘poison’ has made people scared to eat any vA. This has resulted in diets that are NOT nutrient replete. Eggs are nutrient power houses and a vital source of choline for those of us who can’t digest vast amounts of meat. I’m very suspicious that I had become choline deficient. In 2020 my liver test results were doubled triglycerides and high ALT. Choline deficiency causes NAFLD. Great!! I’m now very much of the mind that we need nutrient dense diets that are FAIRLY low to moderate in vA. Taking it to an extreme has unintended consequences.

Also the term poison is frightening. People become nervous of food (this happened to me). Fear puts people into flight or fight (sympathetic nervous system). In sympathetic we don’t digest. We don’t detoxify. We don’t heal. It is incredibly important to be in a relaxed state (parasympathetic nervous system). The use of scary language and severely restricted diets does not put people into parasympathetic where they need to be to heal. We need calm moderation. Not extremes imo.

I agree but that is not what Dr.Smith or Grant thinks and says.. They think that vit A is not a vitamin but just a poison in any dose.  I still think that Grant had issues not just from vit A.. But maybe zinc deficiny and/or toxicity of all kinds of different things that he stopped eating when he started with low vit A diet.. Like excess of oxalates maybe.. Now for example my case is completely different. I was taking accutane, vit A supplements, eating many eggs per day for years after that crazy diets full of dairy, liver. liver oils etc.. But from what I see I think I would be ok if I wasn't taking supplements or accutane and if I had good diet with a lot of zinc, B vitamins and also a lot of sun exposure.. Which I don't have. Here in Czech Republic there is like 6 months a year almost zero vit D from the sun..

I agree there is a bigger picture. I don’t agree with the use of the word poison. I agree with the way you are looking at things. I no longer think that going very low vA is the answer. It’s about reducing excess and supporting excretion. Driving ourselves into deficiencies on limited diets is going to have unintended consequences imo. Provoking a large detox dump can also have unintended consequences. Slow and moderate detox with nutrient dense diet seems the safest option.

The detox aspect seems to be part of the issue here, in one of Dr. Smith's LYL videos, he talked about not being able to compare ourselves now to what people USED to eat in terms of VitA, because we live in a more toxic environment. For instance, people are taking FAR more pharmaceuticals than ever before which are probably contributing to VItA being a problem, in addition to VitA being supplemented in foods. I think that was my case, my body crashed at the end of 2020 after I had been on injectable testosterone for 18 months, injectable HCG, high blood pressure meds (because the T raised my blood pressure substantially), an antiviral I was told I needed, and several antibiotics a doctor put me on when I was sick with something mysterious that wasn't covid (according to the tests). I had also been supplementing with a lot of vitamin C for years which I now know slows down ALDH. Ugh.  THEN, I decided I was going to try something 'natural', and based on a friends recommendation I began taking cayenne pepper capsules because they were supposed to help lower blood pressure because of their affect on the vascular system. I think that was what did me in. Right after things went really haywire and I didn't realize CP was loaded with VitA. I had been eating a Weston Price style diet for a long time which included a lot of dairy and eggs, plus I was eating soups that had beta carotene added for a long time. I think I hit my liver's storage capacity. I'm still 2 years later trying to get back to normal.

But I'm grateful for chat about talk about moderation and not going too far with avoiding A. I had a yogurt the other day and felt guilty that I had eaten some VitA, LOL.

Apparently it's come out that Liver King has indeed been 'doping' on steriods. His liver has been having to process all the excessive toxins from the liver he's been eating in addition to the steroids. He'll likely have some health issues to deal with at some point.

I watched a video of liver king once, with his kids and eating and stuff... and as i saw him, how he behaved etc. it was clear to me he is on steroids.  Crystal clear.

I once had a boyfriend that was on steroids too without me knowing it first.. and he had just the same way of being like liver king, it is pretty easy to see it, if someone are on steroids. What puzzles me is how people can not see it.

As I watched his video I felt sad for his kids and wife. Guys on steroids are not too kind fellows to be around really. Ugh never anymore.
