Do we need vitamin A for testosterone production? Does vitamin A detoxification reduce sexual hormones?

Yes blood serum, in december My value was 800 norm 600-1100 and in June 4,5 norm 4,5-7,5. In December, however, the testosterone value was not better, but it is strange that I never reach a high level despite taking zinc every day.
Oh then I'm bashed with vitamin E, that means after more than 100 days no vitamin E I could now supplement it again ... really thought I still got vitamin E poisoning from the supplementation. Have read is stored in adipose and adrenal glands. Well, the Cutler programm is also recommended up to 1000 IU per day, so I didn't worry about it.
Yes, until the start of vitamin A detoxification, I ate a lot of unsaturated fatty acids every day.

I know, but when my value is always low...in june: copper: 0,7 norm 0,7-1,39, zinc 4,5 norm 4,5-7,5. Ceruloplasmin was checked last summer, I believe it was 4 and norm: 2-6. I now take 25 mg of zinc in the morning and a mineral complex at noon. In my mineral analysis in hair, copper was faaaar too high. And when I did a heavy metal provocation test with DMSA, a lot copper was excreted by DMSA in the urine, for example. So confused about my copper value.
(Did you see my markings in the other threads?)

I do not mean to offend you by saying this, but you seem a bit too willing to take supplements. For example, why were you even taking vitamin E in the first place?
I think you run the risk of running around in circles taking X supplement to fix some deficiency, which you likely caused by taking supplement Y. Have you ever considered dropping all your supplements for a month or two and seeing if things normalize on their own?

Because I planned to startthe Cutler program and its recommend to supplement vitamin E for 1 to 2 months for the beginning. I didn't know anything about vitamin A poisoning at the time. But now I even think that I was deficient in vitamin E at this time.
So yes, I understand your point. I have myalgic encephalomyelitis. For the first 1.5 years I have not added anything and I only have a very healthy and balanced diet. I still had some shortcomings. There is an additional need through ME. But yes, I tend to take supplements quickly, only with ME there are no other chances than try things out. I have been supplementing zinc for 1 year and still my value is not high, if I stopped taking it I would probably have a deficiency. So I think supplements are often important in my caseIn the first 1.5 years without supplements my condition got worse and worse, of course I don't know if the supplements really help me now. And after over 100 days on the VitA diet now, I want to to take Vitamin E as a supplement or with food again, so I do not think it is so stupid if my blood value is meaningful... I really understand your point and I became more careful due to the time / Vitamin A / Accutane etc. Thank you for your help. Can you tell me why you asked about unsaturated fatty acids?

Quote from lil chick on July 27, 2020, 8:32 amJoel, if I was concerned about Vit E levels, I might buy fresh whole grains and grind them and make bread, or soak them and blender them and make pancakes. Other good stuff will be in there too.

I do not think it is stupid to take vitamin E if your blood values are low, I just noticed you were trying many different supplements to determine if you have a specific deficiency. In general, I see many people take too many supplements, usually without knowing why they are taking 80% of them or knowing the potential negative side effects. I did not want to see you fall into a similar trap.
I asked about unsaturated fatty acids because Vitamin E’s only well established role is to protect polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) from lipid peroxidation, which is a form of oxidative damage. Supposedly, moderate vitamin E deficiency has been produced experimentally in humans by feeding them old corn oil. Theoretically, if you are eating a lot of PUFAs, it could increase your need for vitamin E.

I followed "dr."smith insanity for a year with no results to speak of. I see him now as a crazy conspiracy theorist. He seems to really believe what he preaches (self-importance) but I can't take him seriously. This is the equivalent of flat-earth connecting the dots conspiracy.
Grant really has not proven anything. He might have healed purely due to placebo and the survey he posted is underwhelming to say the least. I am all for mind body healing but this diet is like a constant stress over your head. I can see how people might get placebo when starting. It is sort of liberating in a weird way to think oh I can eat whatever as long as it is not on the table list of xyz. Long term however you develop an unhealthy relationship with food bordering on paranoia and hypochondria. You are really telling me carrots, sweet potatoes and greens are bad? Yes excess eating of anything is bad but whatever happened to balanced eating. I have never heard of anyone getting poisoned from too many sweet potatoes by the way. And where is the healthy conversation on these forums? Seems like a handful of active people with no real healing to speak of and no one else participating. Where are the old members that supposedly saw success (placebo)? My guess is just like myself they have moved on.

Many of your concerns are valid.
Hypervitaminosis A is common and following a lower vA diet can help heal a range of health problems however one doesn't need to follow a strict diet to deplete vA. You just need to avoid all important sources of retinol: supplements, fortified foods, liver and high fat dairy as well as high carotenoid veges like carrots and greens. You certainly don't need to worry about small amounts of carotenoids. Once you've depleted vA then you can go back to eating some greens. It's as simple as that, it just takes time.
Carrots aren't actually healthy. Beta-carotene causes disease in larger amounts, this has been shown through large studies. Vegetables provide health benefits DESPITE the beta-carotene they contain, it's wise to not over do carotene consumption.
