Cod Liver Oil

PreviousPage 3 of 4Next

To return to the subject of the original post:  FCLO...

Wouldn't it be so interesting to see if people who tolerate or "like" the effect of FCLO had ancestors who ate dried fish often and "high fish" on occasion?   And possibly also a diet high in vitamin A?

In my case I can't even imagine leaving a can of tuna open in the fridge for more than a day and not getting a headache from it.  I see my ancestors as being  land-locked agricultural Northern Europeans who ate bread and meat.

I can SORT OF imagine that the genetics might have evolved to at least TOLERATE fclo (it is a slightly longer stretch to imagine that it would be a health tonic)

Curious about your liver flushes. How many did you do? Did stones come out? What do you think those stones are? Any effect at all?

I did three liver flushes, I didn't feel better or worse. I think those "stones" are a mixture of bile, cholesterol, bilirubin, olive oil but there can be various toxins, biliary sand... I think these flushes can be benefical. But for me were better coffee enemas, I could do them every day and I really felt much better every time. Then I did castor oil packs+infrared lamp for liver and kidney area for better toxins detox, were also very helpful.

So,

Here we have Cod Liver Oil , WAPF'ers (who often eat a LOT of vitamin A)  dying at what appears to be a highish rate from serious issues, including two people who seemed pretty famous to me  (Ramiel Nagel and Doctor Ron), the question of whether fermented/rancid vitamin A oils are even WORSE (especially for the A-toxic) than they are fresh...

I was thinking that perhaps even without the FCLO, a certain amount of WAPF'ers might end up with symtpoms or even earlier death because they aren't cut out (like I don't seem to be) for a high-vitamin-A diet.

It appears that Doctor Ron died feeling the FCLO was not a good idea (see his post which he made before he died), but he still recommended small amounts of regular CLO.

The fact that he tried to turn around his health in the last year or so, and it didn't work makes me wonder-- after all those years of too much CLO--it's not a bad theory that he was also A-toxic and not just rancid-oil-toxic.

This is a very interesting article about doctor Ron, shortness of breath and heart pounding are my symptoms of VA toxicity.

I know that oxidized forms of vitamin E, cholesterol are toxic, perhaps the oxidized form of vitamin A from fermented cod oil is more harmful?

I have a theory  why I have so much vitamin A maybe stored in my brain... I know from heavy metal toxicity, when the body capacity is exceeded or poisoning is chronic and longterm, the body begins to move the toxins and metals into the brain, the brain is 60% fat and has a strong affinity for mercury, metals and toxins. I needed a long time only to detox the brain with ALA - alpha lipoic acid. The brain is my "weak spot" where other toxins as oxalates, copper were stored and probably vitamin a too?

E.g. oxalates are attracted to old injury places or where the inflammation in body is.

Interesting @Bludicka!  I have that too, sometimes.

Poor Doctor Ron.  Grant's idea is so necessary.   Did Grant see the "whole elephant" while everyone else was just taking a bite?  It is so strange that no one has ever "gone" there!   It's the "gospel of A" that keeps people from going there!

I was thinking that Dr. Ron's last name with Schmidt.  Perhaps of German ancestry, like myself.  And  lets see... Nagel also appears to be a dutch/german name as well!  Didn't expect that.

I see another Dutch/German male on the list of fallen WAPF'ers (females might have their husband's names)  Decker.

"Wouldn't it be so interesting to see if people who tolerate or "like" the effect of FCLO had ancestors who ate dried fish often and "high fish" on occasion?   And possibly also a diet high in vitamin A?"

Blood type O is associated with ancestors who were hunter gatherers. And I've been eating vegetarian and grains for most of my life but meat makes me good and grains bad... It's very interesting that vegetarian and copper toxic people lose their appetite for meat and they think,  it is completely natural. But one of the symptoms of zinc deficiency is decreased appetite for proteins and decreased gastric acid production and therefore they cannot digest meat...

I think it's possible that some people have high tolerance for vitamin A....  Chris Masterjohn with his super high daily doses of vitamin A  is very dependent on a regular supply (it's a genetic weakness or an advantage?), but he certainly doesn't look sick but super healthy with excellent brain function, I really don't understand it.

And this Dr. Ron...."However, I gradually increased the amount I personally took daily, and soon was taking a regimen of one or two tablespoons every day. I reasoned (if you can call it that) that if a little was good, more was better. A lot more…., and this went on for some 31 years. I rarely missed a day. I took Carlson’s brand for over 20 years, and after 2000 Green Pasture’s and Dr. Ron’s Norwegian Cod Liver Oil. In 2006, I began taking fermented cod liver oil, one to two tablespoons daily, sometimes even three, buying into the notion that it was a superfood and that large doses were beneficial. "

31 years of taking cod liver oil....

.

My hubby, I'm pretty sure, is also a land-locked Northern-European Agriculturalist.  And to top it off, toxic cat is from Siberia.

Bludicka maybe you should erase that little tidbit it might be too personal above.  🙂

I'm also type O.

About Dr. Ron?

I have read D'adamo's book that blood type O is associated with hunter gatherers, but it seems to me that some things didn't pan out with those ideas.  Although one  naturopath told me that he thought the D'adamo O diet wasn't too bad, actually.

Personally I think there were probably 3 main types of people in the north of Europe:  Agriculturalists, Herders, and Fishermen.  I suppose all three did some hunting and gathering as well.

Budickha, actually I just realized that liver has high copper ratio. I been eating it twice a week last year and this is when my issues started. Might be a factor for me. What's the best heavy metal detox?
