Cod Liver Oil

PreviousPage 2 of 4Next

@ronnie

I don't buy Ray Peat pufa theory, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are essential for us, but we just need a very small amount and unrefined... a little sunflower seeds, walnuts, hemp seeds. When I overdosed omega-3, I actually caused omega-6 deficiency - I had symptoms of omega-6 deficiency, and adding quality omega-6 helped.

"Dr Udo Erasmus who pioneered the use of Omega 3 and 6 for health began by introducing a flaxseed oil to the market. Flax oil has an Omega 3 to 6 ratio of around 4 to 1 so was an excellent source of increasing our intake of Omega 3. However, he moved away from Flax oil as prolonged use of it led to the actual amount of Omega 3 in the body far outweighing the amount of Omega 6 and so leading to Omega 6 deficiency. Flax Oil is still very useful as a therapeutic source of Omega 3 when there are symptoms of Omega 3 deficiency but only for short term use – Dr Erasmus suggests usage for no longer than 3-6 months."

"The impact for health from omega 6 deficiency can be equally as dramatic as Omega 3 deficiency"

"Udo: Classic omega-6 deficiency symptoms include dry eyes, skipped heart beats, joint pain and paper thin skin.

However, most people are unlikely to become omega-6 deficient except for those who take flax seed oil exclusively (it has an omega-3 to 6 ratio of 4:1) or those on a low fat or no fat diet. Other than that, in a normal Western diet there’s ample omega-6 - (but bad quality and refined omega-6 oil body cannot use for its functions)

If you have fewer carbohydrates, saturated fats, trans fats, and omega-6 fats in the diet, this improves omega-3 conversion, as does increasing the intake of vitamins B3 and B6, magnesium, zinc and vitamin C.

Udo: Omega-3 fats actually turn on the fat burning process and turn off fat production, so they can help you lose weight. It’s impossible to gain weight with omega-3, and very hard with omega-6. It’s possible with saturated fats, although all fats suppress the appetite. Most of the weight gain that people blame on fats is caused by eating more carbohydrates than they can burn."

My diet now is low fat, medium proteins and high carbohydrate and my weight is stable, I have no problems with blood sugar, I am eating twice a day.

And it's possible to have enough zinc and have copper toxicity at the same time, the reasons can be weak adrenals, heavy metals toxicity....

https://www.adrenaladvice.com/copper-adrenal-fatigue.shtml

"If you have been stuck in a state of stress for years, it is very likely that your removal of copper and other toxins has been reduced for years (like me).

It can take a long time to get rid of toxins that you have spent years accumulating."

Not sure if I buy the whole organic vs inorganic. You can read articles defending it such as this https://vasantihealth.com/blogs/news/the-truth-about-storing-water-in-copper-vessels-debunking-the-myths

They also used silver and gold. I didn't use it long enough so I don't know but I will give it another shot.

As far as peskin... I really wanted to believe but it just didn't help and I gave it 6 months. I am on low fat diet now.

Thanks bludicka. I had watched and read tons of peskin and was persuaded by the science. I ate nuts and took the high quality oils. Like I said I simply didn't feel the difference.

I believe a bad liver might have trouble processing any fats. I have almost taken a mcdougall approach (minus the veganism I eat extremely lean cuts of game meat like ostrich, Buffalo or elk)

Many people reported cleaning their acne from such diet. I have incorporated aryuvedic detoxing and I might try Andreas Moritz liver flushes soon.

I will report back. I am still low VA btw I just believe there is more at play here. I am so perplexed by how Grant discovered this theory, put it into practise and immediately saw results.

Nobody says that copper is not vital and essential mineral... but it is much better to take it in the diet than from "copper pipes" and copper vessels, if you work in copper mine and  you breathe copper dust you will be toxic. If the body is deficient, it can use to some extent inorganic forms of minerals too.

high copper levels in water supply and health risks:

I did liver flushes in the past.. with no real benefit for me, but coffe enemas were very helpful in removing toxins.

I am planing to do the low VA diet for 1-2 years, I will see how it goes after a few months. Now I am in the fourth month and I am very strict in the diet (the first three months I was not so strict) and I have no more oxalate dumping, so I can have the benefits of this diet now.

I really think if for someone the chronic vitamin A toxicity is the ONLY problem and there are no other health problems, he can see the results very quickly. I saw it many times... some people with copper toxicity are fit only after three months of copper dumping and some people are not after three years... (with adrenal fatigue, liver problems, the toxicity is much more seriouse... ) The same with mercury toxicity, oxalate toxicity etc.

@ronnie

What I do not quite understand why some people with A vitamin toxicity have many "brain symptoms" as it is with me - brain fog, depression, demotivation, memory problems...they are always worse if I have detox symptoms, the vitamin A is deposited in the brain... and why other people have mainly skin problems... What a factor causes that the body store vitamin A  in larger quantities in a certain place in the body.

@bludicka, I've got a theory about where the A goes.  I think it goes out as a weapon, and then your body is sluggish to clean it up afterward when you are A-toxic.  It makes sense with me and my face and being a homesteader.

With my loved one with type 1 diabetes, perhaps he had a vaccine (or toxic exposure) (and knowing his history it could have been both) and the particles got shot around the system and some ended up on the pancreas just by mistake?   As a late teen he was putting a dozen eggs in the blender each day for a weight-lifting regimen... he had lots of A to throw at the problem (and as we share half our DNA, he probably has a low tolerance to vitamin A).  The pancreas ended up inflamed, the beta cells didn't make it (perhaps they are in a delicate state before adulthood?)  and wallah juvenile onset diabetes.

So,

Here we have Cod Liver Oil , WAPF'ers (who often eat a LOT of vitamin A)  dying at what appears to be a highish rate from serious issues, including two people who seemed pretty famous to me  (Ramiel Nagel and Doctor Ron), the question of whether fermented/rancid vitamin A oils are even WORSE (especially for the A-toxic) than they are fresh...

I was thinking that perhaps even without the FCLO, a certain amount of WAPF'ers might end up with symtpoms or even earlier death because they aren't cut out (like I don't seem to be) for a high-vitamin-A diet.

It appears that Doctor Ron died feeling the FCLO was not a good idea (see his post which he made before he died), but he still recommended small amounts of regular CLO.

https://www.drrons.com/product-blog/Too-Much-of-a-NOT-so-Good-Thing

The fact that he tried to turn around his health in the last year or so, and it didn't work makes me wonder-- after all those years of too much CLO--it's not a bad theory that he was also A-toxic and not just rancid-oil-toxic.

Thanks bludicka, i will read those articles. I don't have copper toxicity that's not something I was ever exposed to. Is it really fair to compare entire piping system where rust and maybe lead can be a factor vs a cup or bracelet. I don't know I will have to research more. I don't want to buy everything aryuvedic at face value but a lot of the aryuveda stuff i have tried had incredible effect on me so far. I am going to dwelve deeper into them as I have a very experienced practitioner guiding me.

I think potentially I could have mercury from eating too many tunas canned and also sushi last year.

It's all an expirement but I think the liver is propably the most important organ. Whether it's vitamin A or other toxicities who knows. I have been 6 month now on extremely low VA diet.

Curious about your liver flushes. How many did you do? Did stones come out? What do you think those stones are? Any effect at all?
