Garrett's Vitamin A detox package
Quote from John on March 18, 2019, 1:17 pmQuote from Orion on January 13, 2019, 9:17 amI think full body sunlight exposure and vitamin E are could be very helpful.
It also mentions men with low E equals less cancer and women with high E more?

It is not just a food list but comes with a bit more, i.e drug names and such. Googling low vit a foods is not always a good idea as i.e pork and milk have hidden retinoic acid which will not show up in any lists and some foods are really horrible despite not looking "that bad" like avocado. There are also foods on the list I personally do not agree should be on there.
I would say it depends on your level of knowledge and finances ofc. Garrett has done a lot of research but he also has a lot of info on his forum for everyone to read. If you are single and not fussy with your diet the food list itself is not needed, food wise one can stick with safe foods Grant Style. But as vit A can hide in drugs, supplements, skim care, shampoo and such, and in many oils/etheric oils those should be omitted as well and here Garrett has done extended research. The lists (there are several) also are updated, or will ve updated, when new info/marerial arise.
I bought it to translate for my mom as it was the easiest way for me to get my parents started as she does not speak english. I dont use any products beforehand with any form of synthetic retinol, and I am the kind of person that obsessively check out every ingredient before buying a product, but it is hiding everywhere uder different names ao if you are not anal about what is put on your body, the list can help with that as well. Heck I even found syntthetic retinol in a john masters organics body lotion hiding in the middle of the list owned by my pregnant friend! But again, it can be beneficial depending on your level of knowledge. I had expected a lot more of it, but for many it has been very helpful.

I just ate some avocado and banana for the other nutrients knowing it has A but not so much. Tell me more about avocados, why is it horrible? What about bananas?
Avocados will stimulate the ccarotenoid absorption. There is a link about this at nutritionrestored.com in the blog forum. You can read more here : https://nutritionrestored.com/blog-forum/forum/compounds-that-stimulate-poison-vitamin-a-activity-in-a-bad-way/

Quote from Guest on March 19, 2019, 4:38 pmYikes. The cheese I've been eating for years has added beta carotene as a coloring agent. The cheese itself has a lot of fat in it, in addition to the natural retinol. So we have got Fat + beta carotene + retinol + Casein.

Quote from tim on March 19, 2019, 6:41 pmBecause they are natural, carotenes are now used in a plethora of processed foods. Every single meat pie at my supermarket has carotenes added... 🙁
After reading Garrett's info about glyphosate I will not be eating any gelatin and will be making an effort to buy organic meat and grain.
I haven't seen any mention on the Ray Peat thread about glyphosate accumulating in gelatin and interfering with Poison A. Ray Peater's that consume a lot of gelatin are possibly at a higher level of risk from VA toxicity than the rest of the population.
One could get low glyphosate gelatin in their diet by making chicken stock from organic chicken frames. Note that often farmers do give "organic" chickens non organic chicken feed if they feel they can get away with it but organic chicken should still be lower in glyphosate than non organic.

Would peanut flour be okay especially since the fat is removed. Organic of course.

Yes. But according to the study, avocados more so, esp in combination with the carotenoids present:

Should be ok if the fat is removed. Coconut oil is not ok but MCT coconut oil is ok, the stearate and some other fatty acids have been removed.
Ok I just googled defatted peanut flour and it looks like it still has like 12% fat. So it might still cause a reaction. I guess you would have to try and see if you get any symptoms.
