Histamine response to oatmeal?

PreviousPage 2 of 3Next

Darn it!! I love oats and eat them daily. Guess I'll have to pause them as well to go 0 A for realz then. Meat + rice only gives me severe constipation so I'll need some other fibre food. ๐Ÿ˜–

Liz, that's why Grant is eating beans.

From his comment on https://ggenereux.blog/2019/02/05/protein-synthesis-and-setbacks/comment-page-1/#comment-527

The primary reason for adding the black beans to my died was for the fiber. I found that just white rice and beef can quickly turn in to a gut concrete. Brown rice provided lots of fiber too, but I found it does not provide the sustained day-long energy that white rice does.

I want to chime in. Oats with oatmilk are 50% of my diet, some days I even have them exclusively. I credit them a lot for my progress so far. So in my opinion if you don't have negative reactions from them, just keep on eating them.

Yes I agree. I would only review oats if you are not progressing

Hi Orion

Yeh thatย  is annoying. I have just stopped my regular oatmeal breakfast to see if my insomnia symptoms improve.

I was buying the oat grain and making fresh rolled oats and had no obvious digestive issues. So far it has been 4 days and

I have already noticed an improvement with my sleep. Although I am looking forward to being able to eat it again.

Hey Mokus,

Ya annoying, but easy to switch out oats and use rice in the mornings, just need about 15mins extra for cooking, hassle in morning rush though.ย  I add lots of white and brown sugar and 1/2 cup egg whites, sometimes dash on vanilla.ย ย  Sweet kanji porridge!

Sleep is one of my last issues to resolve, so will see how this affects it.ย  Glad to hear it affected you positively.

@bella once I am feeling much better, I might use oats more often, time will tell.

Gut concrete indeed ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ it is horrible! Skipped rice today and had beans instead. I have had huge progress with my diet, but probably more so when I was more strict. My main issue is my flaking dry skin, really. Which has spread to stomach and makes me look like a lizard ๐Ÿ™„. It is detox, I am sure of it. But low-ish A since may and very low/zero A since mid-nov I guess I was expecting bigger improvements regarding skin (it is super soft on body though) I am willing to remain more zero than low to see if it helps. But I am unsure oats is the issue for me either, chickpeas has been a staple and they have relatively high carotenoids compared to other beans afaik so they might be it. And bananas. It is a flavor preference really as I am not crazy about beans but love chickpeas. So thanks for your inputs guys ๐Ÿ™‚ ! Black beans are added and ill probably keep oats as well, and if no change can be seen, ill omit them as well.

Quaker oats have been found to contain glysophate.ย  Sometimes eating makes me feel kind of sick aftewards but did use to eat it with three eggs all the time.ย  No more oatmeal for me.

One Degree brand is a sprouted oat, so breakfast can be faster with them.ย  I've tried them for the last couple weeks, no issues so far.

Sprouts have a ton of beta-carotene. If you're not noticing it it's probably because you're already eating a ton of it, sprouts or no sprouts.

Does this include beans sprouts?
