Sorry, I need to correct myself, I'M NOT VEGAN, I'm following whole foods plant based diet with no animal products. I don't eat this way because I don't want to kill animals, I don't give a F about animals, I'm eating this way because it cured my heart disease, gut problems, skin problems and improved my muscle growth and strength. And as a bonus my erections are awesome now that I don't eat any animal products.

Quote from Mattia on June 1, 2020, 11:04 amSo, I have been plan based when I took accoutane. I realized that I have been brain washed and changed to keto. Low carb dieting compleatly fixed my acne.
I have tried eating a lot 3-4000kcal and I got the same result: no weight gain. I know how much I eat because I mesure it. Now I mainly eat beef, low VA fruits and sourdough bread at around 2500-3000kcal.
I did a blood test, my thiroid it's fine. Irregularities are high ferritin (300) and low vitamin D.
Please don't transform this thread in a vegan debate. If you are vegan or vegetarian and want to challeng your knowledge I suggest reading thrugh the website of weston a price foundation.
Thank you for your replys so far

That's what every meat eater says, they can't "talk" because they can't present any evidence to prove their points. When you ask meat eater to show some proof that eating that way is good for you they just say, "Well.. erh... goddamn, I don't have to show you any evidence!". That's because there is no evidence, there's just your own beliefs.

Yes cod liver oil especially oxidized one is maybe the worst thing that you can do. But that doesn't mean that eating meat will kill you. It's great that you reversed blocked arteries? Now it is not black and white. Like you will eat cholesterol. You will die from heart attack... The body uses cholesterol and calcium to patch damaged artery walls. So if that is the case for someone. You can lower cholesterol to zero by diet and drugs, but you will die anyway from massive stroke or something.. I agree that iron from red meat is very problematic. Can build up overtime and cause massive oxidative damage.. It can easily oxidize cholesterol and do a lot of damage. Hormones in dairy and meat fat are also problematic etc. If I had blocked arteries I will do low fat, low cholesterol for sure. Something like Pritikin. He reversed his blocked arteries as well. Eating low fat, cholesterol meats.. But the biggest deal is to donate blood to lower iron in the body. You also need to understand that clean diet where you eat basically whole food diet, where you don't have fried foods, processed cheeses etc.. is something completely different. Fried oxidized fats, processed dairy etc.. + sodas full of fructose + calorie surplus + not moving your body etc.. That will kill you for sure. I also tried whole food plant based. I like how simple, cheap it is. Legumes, grains, vegetables, fruits etc.. I can't do it. I react to almost everything except fruits and white rice. I can't eat more than 20g of fiber etc.. Simply one diet is not for everybody. It is great that it helped you. But there are people who were ill by eating plant based and got better by eating more animal foods. Everybody is different. We know a lot about nutrition. So we should be open minded and use that knowledge to our advantage and not blindly follow some cult like Weston Price, carnivore, vegan, fruitarian or whatever..

Quote from lil chick on June 1, 2020, 3:40 pmpoor Mattia you guys she asked you to lay off the vegan debate!
I guess it could be true that your thyroid hormones are off, some here have seen those rectify with time.
I let myself eat all kinds of stuff that I wouldn't before when I was a health nut, LOL.
The most important thing we get from food is (wait for it)..... CALORIES

B12, zinc, choline, taurine, DHA, K2... there are plenty of nutrients we get from meat that we can't get from plants easily. Also it makes it impossible to get enough protein if you have a decent muscle mass and you don't want to take legume derived protein powders.
I agree that people are way less trustworthy sources of info than studies, especially online. The science does show that oxidized cholesterol is a problem and is present in cooked animal foods, oxidized cholesterol forms endogenously too though so doesn't just come from animal products. I do think that a very low animal product low fat diet would be best for treating heart disease.

You haven't given us much info to work with (health history wise) but if you are just after a dietary program that is high nutrition but low VA then I have done a few videos on YT that may help you, channel is "Holistic Scientific".
Keto is a bad idea... very bad if you want to gain weight.
To gain weight you must first make sure the gut is not suffering from dysbiosis, there are effective herbs for that. Then you should eat a normal balanced diet that contains high nutrient foods like veges, legumes, meats, chicken stock, mushrooms but also contains high calorie foods like sugar, fat (low pufa) and refined grains.
WAPF has zero credibility here... They are the cause of problems for many of us. Mary Enig is correct about animal fats though, her book is excellent. Chicken stock is a very healthy food too. They do get some things correct obviously but their Vit A ignorance poisons everything they do.

Quote from Mattia on June 1, 2020, 11:23 pmYes some months ago I did a stool test that showed that I have disbiosis. Then I also did a sibo breath thest and I got a very strange result that might meas hydrogen sulfite sibo. I have just finisched an antimicrobial protocol with herbs to treat sibo and the disbiosis, I'm now in the probiotic reintroduction phase.
My food sensibilities for now remains but now I'm able to eat high GI foods without braking out like bread and white rice. (They used to cause me really bad acne).
For now my plan is to improve my gut health and depleate vitamin A and iron. As I said I do eat good ammounts of carbs and calories in general. I do not follow anymore a low carb diet. Until now I haven gained any ammount of weight.
