My 11 years pro(re)gress story... [chart]

PreviousPage 3 of 4Next

I currently use eggshell powder, 150-200mg. but I've tried many supplements. After an initial loading phase, my calcium needs have dropped, so I only need a little, especially if I drink lime water. My previous issue is that for many years I have been on diets that are either low in calcium or - high in calcium (Ray Peat) but extremely high in vitamin A. Remember that too much calcium, if not balanced with magnesium, can also create problems. In 20 years of experience with all diets, one thing I'm sure of: fewer supplements is better! Only if you're sure you need them and carefully evaluate them for the long term.

Drinking skim milk without added vitamins also worked for me. I know, there's still some retinol bond in casein, but for me it's a small, manageable amount. Skimmed milk solves a lot of issue with calcium and protein.

P.S. Some calcium supplements contain heavy metal impurities like lead.

Yeh.  I did not make it a year on Ehret.  And double yeh.  When knees are the thickest part of the leg, it is long past time to do something else.  Not proud of being that adherent to any diet.  Heck of a way to learn.  Learned profoundly though.  The fasting and fruit did relieve a lot of symptoms for very short term though.  In the end, meat broths with tiny amounts of meat saved my day.  Took a long time to build back up.  Zone diet helped alot after months of the POW rehab diet.

Funny to hear vA as a genetic intolerance.  A dentist told me I might be genetically disposed to react to mercury in my fillings.  Told him yeh and genetically disposed to cyanide gas reactions too.  Just because someone in the room dies sooner than someone else in a cyanide gas filled room does not mean much to me.  Poison is poison.  vA as a toxin is more obvious daily.

Interesting on the calcium as there is a growing group of us low vA folk just figuring this out.  I have been using chicken broth made with whole birds for years.  Think that protected me more so than others.  Only in last year have experimented with other sources.  So far loving it.

Glad to read how your overall intake of supplements is dropping.  Similar here.

[...]Funny to hear vA as a genetic intolerance.

Bizarre logic that fails to take into account variations in what Mom ate before during and after birth and during breast feeding on each kid.  Also notorious anecdotal evidence from all sources I have that first kid is the one who gets the most vA off loaded from Mom.  Oldest nephews were the ones born jaundiced.

Doubt the authors of that paper consider the fact that vA is not a nutrient.

Hi @tropico,
We'd love to have you in the Calcium Connection group that Joe talked about! It's free. Your experience is valuable!

I appreciate that the researchers even allow that you can die from hypervitaminosis A.   Thanks for posting it!

Excuse me, everyone. Over 20 years of working on nutrition forums, and having had one of my own, have taught me that discussing nutrition among users is of little use. Personal experiences matter, and readers can try to draw lessons from them. I don't participate in any groups; this is the last and only one. What's generally missing from forums are long-term testimonials, and that's why I'm here. To reiterate that Grant's vitamin A-free diet works, it just needs to be adjusted. In my case, the setback was due to a calcium deficiency; I'm sensitive to it; others may have their own problems, different from mine. The second setback was due to a moderate deviation from the low vitamin A diet standards (eggs, fat cheese, tomatoes, some fruits...) due to overconfidence, since I was feeling great. That's all.

I don't need to explain the theory to people, if the practice already works, Grant will take care of that, he's better than me.

Good health to everyone, I'll keep you updated over the years 🙂

I just can't imagine that we're meant to live on such a bland and severely restricted diet longterm. Especially, when looking at ancestral diets for this region...it did/does contain some staple foods which are high in VA.

Ha, we were never meant to live in such a toxic environment: microplastics, EMF, food fortified with unnecessary vitamins, glyphosate, vaccines (any, I mean any), wrong housing which doesn't let charge go through, loss of community, loneliness, meaningless jobs. We're being systemically poisoned. We were meant to live in Paradise. But that's long gone, and down the path of wretchedness, everything just has become worse, and it continues so.

The only hope we have, who suffer poor health, is adapt and make everything possible that we can still function in this broken world. And it takes so much effort. I hope one day, it will pay off for me.

Thank you Tropico.  Agree on the testimonies and anecdotal evidence.  Ironic how anecdotes are dismissed by sciency types when anecdotal evidence determine when, what and how to experiment on theories.

I think the reason your presence on calcium-connection.com is requested has to do with your experience with calcium long before any of us had a clue we were shorting ourselves on it.  Nice to see anecdotal evidence confirming what is a new theory to us.

Curious too that we all have so much disdain for a simple diet.  To a degree I can understand how we have been trained that we must and that we deserve to have so much variety and entertainment in our diet.  Looking back a few hundred years, I have doubts that most of the healthiest strongest people on the planet spent a lot of time on food as this generation has.  I imagine that my great great great great Grandparents would have been grateful and excited to get a steady high quality supply of rice, beef, oats, chicken, wheat for months let alone years at a time.  If they got a few small, wild, extremely tart fruits a few times in spring and summer they were probably as entertained as they dared to be.

Did we read the same article?

"[...] It turns out the Earth—like all other celestial bodies—is acting as a sort of charge engine, recycling charge that
it gets from the Sun and the Galactic Core. Charge is just a heavy stream of real photons, so it is not
anything esoteric or difficult to visualize. Photons are little particles of light, and only a sliver of them
are visible to us. Heat is also photons, as are radio waves, so most of the spectrum is invisible. We can
hear part of it, but the largest part we neither hear nor see.
The spin of the Earth on its axis creates huge vortices at both poles that reach far out into space,
capturing the charge wind coming from the Sun. It pulls these photon streams in and channels them
down to the core, where they then turn and move back out. They channel out most heavily at the
equator, due to more angular momentum (centrifugal force) there, but they are released everywhere.
So no matter where you are standing on the Earth, these photons will be rising up from underneath you,
passing through you, and moving on up into the sky.
Tesla was one of the first to realize how this worked, and so he used it to create his machines and toys.
He was tapping the charge field of the Earth. Wifi rides on the ambient charge field in the lower
atmosphere, as just one example. This rising charge also explains how planes fly, the buoyancy of
water, floating clouds, rising heat, and many other things the mainstream knew only darkly. But even
Tesla didn't really know much about charge. As an engineer, he knew how to harness it, and as a
genius, he intuited its main properties, but he was never that interested in theory. I was the first to
show how charge fits into the unified field equations.
But what I have discovered more recently is how this impacts human life and health. You can see that
the Earth is a sort of charge engine, recycling charge right through its body and “feeding” on it. As it
turns out, atoms are also charge engines of that sort, as is the Sun. Charge photons recycle right
through the atomic nucleus, and I was the first to diagram the charge streams of the various elements.
All bodies of all sizes are charge engines, feeding off the ambient field. Everything from the electron
to the galaxy is recycling photons and feeding off of them. So are you. You don't live just by burning
food. You also live by recycling photons, sort of like a plant does but without the chlorophyll. The
mainstream is also aware of that, see biophotons and things like that. But they aren't as aware of it as
they should be, as you are about to discover.
If mainstream science understood how charge moves and is recycled, our buildings wouldn't be made
like they are. Due to poor choice of materials, almost all houses and office buildings are slow-motion
death traps. They insulate or block most charge, which starves the body of its main source of energy.
Even our shoes are all wrong—but we will get to that too.[...]"
