NAD deficiency - is this a major issue for vA toxicity/detox?
Quote from Eio on November 30, 2023, 7:04 pmI often wake up and can't go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Eating something sometimes helps. I recently bought a CD player that has ear buds. The library has books on CD so I checked out a Sue Grafton mystery, The Outcasts of Poker Flat by Bret Harte, Dracula by Bram Stoker and The Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. I haven't listened to Dracula yet but of the other three the most sleep inducing was the Sue Grafton mystery. The other two were too entertaining and I had to pay attention. It is nice to hear someone read to you and it doesn't disturb anyone and you can lie in the dark with your eyes closed.

Quote from Liz on November 30, 2023, 11:58 pmI have stated this several other places, but I used to suffer from insomnia waking up at night unable to fall back asleep. I sometimes still do but because of back/kidney pain (for which psyllium + bicarbonate helps)
I took a heaping teaspoon honey under my tounge and I always fall back asleep within 15 minutes. It works amazingly. Nowadays I still do the honey if psyllium doesn't work. Got the honey tip from Matt Stone back in the day.
I really urge you to try it if you have not. Some might need a sprinkle of salt on the honey. It amazes me every time how well It works. Psyllium and honey truly are magic sleeping aids.
I keep a 500ml bottle with 2 tbsp coarse psyllium in the fridge, easy to go up and take a huge gulp or two. Or keep by the bed together with honey and a spoon, no need to even get out of bed.

Quote from tim on December 1, 2023, 9:32 pmWith regard to sleeping as well as just living inside I notice people often close all the windows when it's cold to stay warm. This isn't healthy in my opinion. When it's cold I wear a long sleeve undergarment that has a hood to bed. You can layer them if need be. That way your head, neck and whole body can be nice and warm, you can have windows open getting fresh air and you can reduce your energy expenses.
You don't want to be breathing in your own or others exhalations. It's amazing watching how fast CO2 levels rise on a CO2 meter if the windows are closed. NASA studies show decreased cognition as indoor CO2 levels rise. Exhaled breath also contains carbon monoxide, I don't know how much that contributes to it.

Quote from Liz on December 1, 2023, 11:39 pmTim, maybe that is doable where you live, but not where I live 🤣. We have -10 celsius atm. I'd like to see anyone sleeping with their Windows open under those conditions that is not an eskimo.
However our Windows have air vents so fresh air come in at all times.

Ah yes that might not be fun. If you have air vents that is fine and even better really. Most houses here don't tend to have those.

However our Windows have air vents so fresh air come in at all times.Heh exactly. Not everyone lives in Australia or Costa Rica. For sure during the spring, summer I have open window here in Czech Republic, but now during the winter I open window for maybe 5 minutes max at the time to let fresh air in. I will do it mainly before I go to bed and also if I wake up I will open the window when I go to the toilet.. I would love to live in Costa Rica with Paul Saladino. At least during winter months. I hate winter so much it is not even funny lol.. Just waste of like 4 moths every year..

That is how I do it too, airing out a couple times/day in winter. Other times of the year I have doors and windows open all the times, I just love fresh air. This house has airing holes in every room and it is also not very closed built as my dad has built this house himself out of wood, and air is coming in a little here and there LOL. So air quality is really good at least! Also we live outside the city by a river/water fall and lots of forest around too so air is amazing outside.
@jiri why dont you explore the magic of winter? I LOVE snow its just the most beautiful thing... 🙂
And also in winter you can just cuddle up with candles and a good book and enjoy the silent peace, in winter everything slows down. It is totally accepted to just hibernate :). I love the different times of the year it never gets boring. I am also really proud of the people driving here on icy snowy roads and they just help each other when someone gets stuck. And everybody have to survive the ice cold weather and snow storms and all that, feels like so much love. It is that kind of love that is palpable in the air you dont have to do anything. Everyone knows the struggles. The harshness of the winters here. And it makes a connected feeling, we survive together. Even if alone in front of the fireplace at home. There you can just sink into your own inner void and explore who are you really.. whatever feelings appear, you can take a look at them.
The magic of winter.

I think that is the main issue for me here. Because I can't fully relax where I live.. High EMF from all kinds of towers on our apartment building and stress from family. We have 4 apartments in the building. Everyone wants something constantly. Especially my sister with her 2 kids. Just imagine you want to do nothing just rest and relax and here she comes with kids because he needs to go somewhere. So I have to babysit or she builds vacation house where she likes to use me as manual labor for free. Even now during the winter they are doing roof etc.. So I go rather work extra hours so I just don't have to freeze to death in the woods working on her stupid house etc.. I can't wait to live somewhere where I know nobody will bother me lol. That is my goal in 2024. Because if I don't change it no diet/protocol will help me heh...

Quote from Inger on December 2, 2023, 11:22 am@jiri I totally understand you, because I rent a apartment in my parents house too... and here is constantly someone visiting! But in this house lives my mom and dad, my oldest brother, my youngest brother, and I. No children. So it is very peaceful normally.. except when some of my other siblings comes visit with their children lol... and somehow I am quite a children magnet for some reason I cant understand.. so they always want to be with me.. which I kind of love but then sometimes its just too much especially if I am feeling like being alone.
I am learning to say no though, it is really hard when it comes to own family. I know. But it would be really great to be able to. Its not kind to use the own sibling to work for one for free. My brothers help me with my car if it breaks but I usually give them money or something, like i watch out for their kids etc, instead. We change between us so to speak. I am a libra and I always need to have a balance so everyone gets something out of it. Still I never was good in saying no. If I would have been, I would never have gotten burnout!

Quote from Jiří on December 2, 2023, 12:16 pm@inger wow so you have it crazy as well. I don't blame them for my health issues. I did many stupid errors myself. But now they are preventing me from healing basically. So the only solution is to just move ASAP. So I have some time to regain as much health as I can. Because once my parents will have serious issues and will need help with daily things I have to be there for them. Without them I would be dead right now that's for sure. Because during my worst I couldn't work. So I was years without money and without living with my parents I would already killed myself for sure.. So helping my parents to die somewhat comfortably with me on their side and disappear again..
