Rosacea and Seb derm
Quote from Guest on December 30, 2018, 2:13 amI cheched casein few times in this week. Before i didn't notice that, but now after two weeks no A diet, i get tightened skin, bone pain, blurred vision, dandruff, burning in the skin, muscle fatigue after eggs, ketchup, especially butter (i eated it early so much) and casein too, but casein give me least symptoms of all these food, probably because there is no fat which contain biggest part of retinol. I'm also craving fats and feel better after that, but not after all, maybe my blood lipids are low and it can't bind with free retinol and for this reason i notice intresting thing, when i anoint on my skin some fat, after that i almost immediately get better temps, pulse, heart rate probably it becase this fat bind retinol. I remember in summer afer sunlight my skin was producing more progesterone and i had the same positive thing which was describad with fats consumption and anoint on skin, maybe progesterone has the same defend lipophlic affect for binding free carotene and retinol as fats.

Almost 3 weeks. I have noticed some improvements on day 18 and 19. Less itchiness. Last night on new years eve I had a vodka and coke. Partly because I was hoping for a detox lol. Itching came back this morning. Facial skin is very dry and shedding. I shaved and same result bloody face plenty of red little rashes around beard area.
Its not the first time I notice alcohol making it worse. My theory is that it is removing the VA from the liver too fast and it ends causing more lesions. Obviously I am not planning on becoming an alcoholic here.

Quote from Guest on January 2, 2019, 3:31 pmI am thinking of supplementing in sulfur in the form of MSM as I don't eat garlic or onions and since I no longer take any eggs I get almost none thru diet.
I need it for joint pain
Any opinions on that

Quote from Guest on January 2, 2019, 8:54 pmAlcohol can make things better or worse for me. It seems to be a double edged sword and the amount I tolerate day to day varies a lot. For the two days previous I had a single beer with dinner and one with lunch one day. Yesterday I had two with dinner and it was too much. I should have known it was as I felt woozy before I was finishing the first beer.
I usually drink maybe once a week or leas, but lately I have been experimenting with small doses.

Quote from Guest on January 8, 2019, 6:23 pmVitamin A level look normal but that does not indicate the levels stored in my liver.
It's been some ups and down but overall I am happy with the progress
Let me start with the negatives or detox symptoms since its been almost 1 month now. The weird thing is that some of those are things that I had experienced in prior years for months at time but they all happening now.
- Joint paint: knees
- Dry skin in spots that weren't dry before like forehead
- Acne pimples ( not related to Seb derms) minor tho
- Jaw clicking
- Increased Dandruff first 2 weeks
- Teeth/gum sensitive
Most have subsided this week.
Now for the positives:
- Itching on face is almost gone. When I started my beard would itch and burn when I chewed or just talked
- My hair is so much softer it's crazy. Reminds me how it was when I was young. Around age 26 my hair started curling. I been losing a lot of hair last year. I didn't change shampoo or anything but I can feel how much softer it is
- Dandruff is so much less. After the first two weeks were it was unbearable. The flakes are not noticeable now.
- Dreams that I can recall
- More positive mood in general
The redness is about 50%-60 less and my facial dryness has gone now in the problem areas. The Seb derm texture is improving but still there I have some observations about the diet I will write about later. For example, I seem to do better with white rice than white potatoes. I will discuss what I am doing for supplements ect later. I am happy so far but I realize I have a longer way to go. I remember how much VA I took like I said some days up to 12 raw eggs a full stick of butter and raw liver and fish that was daily routine for a while.

No more Seb derm.
It got steadily better less pimples less itching and last 3 weeks just zero symptoms.
I want to upload pics but couldn't. I will do it in the future.

Quote from tim on March 10, 2019, 1:59 amI also suffer from Seb Derm and I discovered that I could control it via application of 6% Hydrogen Peroxide sprayed onto afflicted areas after showering and removing oil from the skin. This has worked well for the last couple of years but I have to do it twice per week to stay on top of it.
What I found odd though is I have one small patch where it occurs on the left side of my chest. It is supposedly caused by excess sebum feeding a yeast (which Hydrogen Peroxide kills) but I wondered why it didn't spread to other areas after all these years.
After 1 month of a low VA diet I still have it but it seems much less aggressive and there is much less redness. I haven't had to use Hydrogen Peroxide on my face as often to control it.
