Sun exposure

PreviousPage 2 of 5Next

I have been using sun exposure as a way to eliminate additional VitA, but I have noticed a few things:

- My urine tends to get very yellow even though I am over hydrated after.

- I tend to have a swell of symptoms (head pressure, tinnitus spikes)

- My sleep is way more disturbed (it already is a bit)

- night urination is more frequent

I think that break down products are some, but I do think the skin is also a sink for VitD from the liver, and emptying it allows for heavier transport and re-distribution.

In any case, I hope it stops some day. Sun exposure is very helpful!

well, the sun is an excellent detoxer 🙂 . I notice very yellow urine too after spending a lot of time in the sun. I am born as a sun addict so I spend all my free time in the sun if possible... and maybe that is why I am doing so well even if I messed up with stupid food and drug decisions several times in my life

well this thread escalated quickly!  ;0

edited to add:  Haha I need to wear my glasses more.   This post was meant for the other thread.  I wondered where it went!   hahaha

Same here. Being in the sun feels really good. It used to make me really sleepy to be in the sun, now it's changed a bit to feeling more agitated, and whereas I used to sleep better after a day in the sun, now it's the opposite; probably because the detoxification of the VA is increased.

Vladimir Nabokov (author of Lolita, for example) suffered from insomnia all his life and said it got worse in the summer. This is what he had to say about it:

Summers I spend in the stumbling pursuit of lepidoptera on flowery slopes and mountain screes; and, of course, after my daily hike of fifteen miles or more, I sleep even worse than in winter.  (Source)

I wonder what his diet was like, if he ate a lot of vitamin A foods.

Could you explain this part? So far I've understood that the skin produces vitamin D under the influence of UVB, but I haven't heard that the stored vitamin D is actually released from the liver when you are exposed to the sun. Perhaps I don't understand you correctly.

As far as I noticed I only have positive results from sun. Havent been sunbathing (its boring and never sunny enough ) but I spent as much time in the sun as I can basically and the more the better I feel. Maybe, maybe a slight increased tendency to get a bit red but not a huge problem or anything. Its been quite constant since starting 2019

Before I cut back on VA I used to get sun poisoning with my first few spring sunnings.  Now, I don't!

My mother thought that a very bad case of sun poisoning led to her come down with skin lupus.  (discoid lupus)

(as Dr House says:  It's never lupus)

I am sorry for the confusion. I thought VitA, but I typed VitD.

My idea was more around the VitA stored in tissues and in the liver.

When the skin processes out a lot of its stored VitA (and accelerates the detox of those metabolites), it leaves "room" for re-absorption of VitA.

After re-absorption, the other tissues see there is a lot of capacity to dump their VitA...which causes a re-distribution storm.

Grant Smith thinks everything causes a BILE DUMP, but I think the re-distribution storm is more likely. If it was a bile dump, I could just take more charcoal and be done with it!

You are lucky! I have a feeling I have filled my tissues in my brain with atypical carotenoids (or, non carotene ones) like astaxanthin. And, something about the re-distribution of those causes my brain to feel pressure, my tinnitus to ramp up, and so on.

If I just got a bit red, I'd press on! As I'm absolutely convinced the amount of VitA hit by the sun gets destroyed for good (or destroyed enough to be easily eliminated by the liver's or peripheral cell detox pathways).

Do you think nutritional yeast is safe or does it contain astaxanthin? There is astaxanthin in some yeasts, that's why I ask. Also, I've had glutathione IV treatment before and yes, it contained astaxanthin as well as vitamin C. Argh.

Astaxanthin is a red substance, so it should be reddish, but nutritional yeast looks yellow. Could there be other carotenes hidden in the yeast? I don't know. Maybe it's the B vitamins like riboflavin that make it slightly yellow, like cheese.

Another concern with nutritional yeast could be that it contains toxic mould byproducts, at least that's what Dave Asprey claims: https://daveasprey.com/nutritional-yeast/
