Quote from Hermes on June 7, 2023, 4:48 amRE: An unexpected finding of the present study was that more than 4 eggs consumption per week was not significantly associated with risk of NAFLD. This may be explained by the fact that nutritional factors are correlated with each other, and determining of the effect of particular nutrients or particular foods on a risk factor is difficult.
It always amazes me how researchers find ways to support their preconceived ideas about something. Instead of looking at the most obvious factor itself, that more egg consumption is associated with better liver health, they start looking elsewhere to support their ideology. It's also a good reminder that science may have the word science in it, but it's not always scientific. The best example is all the research in favour of SSRI use. The problem there is that the trials usually do not last long enough, six to eight weeks. But what happens to a patient who takes Prozac for two, five or ten years? The outcome is worse than if they had not taken the drugs. Even scientists have an agenda, if not they, then those who fund the research.

Have you tried Lactospore, (AFI LactoSpore | Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856) there are a number of people on Smith's network that have had luck with it?
Also, wanted to share this video with you. (perhaps you are already familiar with Dr. William Davis - Wheat Belly, he has had like a 90% success rate with SIBO with three different types of probiotics as explained in the video)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8bD5B9WTBs
Dr. William Davis' yogurts have helped me immensely. Can definitely recommend. I made the reuteri after which my brainfog and tiredness after meals disappeared within a week of eating the yoghurt daily. I then made a blend of reuteri with the infantis and gasseri as well and had even more benefits. The reuteri is also the most delicious yogurt I have ever tasted. When I make it from ultra-pasteurized shelf-stable A2 cow's milk. Goat's milk stays very thin sadly enough.
Pretty sure I had SIBO. I still think my issue is more of a bile-flow thing, with which vitamin A seems to become a problem. If vitamin A and carotenes are as ubiquitous as they seem, our body must have a mechanism for removing it easily... pretty sure it's not so much a detox setback but a detox starting issue at that point.

Quote from ggenereux on June 7, 2023, 6:42 amI’ve had a couple people alert me to the fact that activated charcoal may not be as safe as I was assuming it to be. Here's one of the comments I've received.
This seems to primarily be a problem for sick people with a weakened intestinal barrier, but that would probably mean the majority of people with vitamin A problems as both generally being sick and vitamin A does weaken the intestinal barrier. There are some theories around that the particle size of the charcoal is important for this reason, with the smaller particle being worse.
Once again, please be careful, do your own research and come to your own conclusions. Thank you!

Quote from Andrew B on June 7, 2023, 6:49 amYou are advised not to take activated charcoal when you are prone to constipation. I couldnt risk it for about 3 years. Once I'd fixed gut motility with extra eggs and sunflower seeds for B1 I could take it more easily for slight heartburn and it worked really well. Many people likely to have poor gut motility right at the start and pooping is important apparently so why not fix digestion and bile flow as priority.
PS: I think taurine also helps muscle contractions and relaxations. Turkey thighs, chicken thighs, beef hearts, fish (salmon, tuna and sardines) and shellfish being some good sources of taurine. Taurine also helps intestinal permeability !

Still, the presence of incorrect information on a forum that's supposed to be a place of science is naive. "Freedom of speech" is just a way to justify evading responsibility. Look at all the eggvangelists here. They wouldn't be here tarnishing the discussion with their stupidity were it disallowed.

Well well...if it isn't Will the classroom tattle tale from dipSmith's little inbred web "domain". I never got to thank you directly for getting me kicked off dipSmith's site, that's saved me countless hours of wading through non-sensical drivel over there!
Were it not for freedom of speech, your own naivete would have been silenced long ago. You should be praising that freedom with what little air you've managed to take in whilst your head has been jammed up dipSmith's nether region.
I may personally disagree with some aspects of this egg advocacy, but it's quite clear that the discussion that is permitted to take place on this site (and in a free society) has led to much greater insights than whatever is swirling down the toilet bowl over there in make-believe land.
You don't know the first thing about science if you're still defending dipSmith's ideas and childish behavior.

you were banned for a reason, and it’s on full display. You can thank yourself for being intolerable. So which is it, do you want to be on Dr Smiths network or not?I do my own research. I’m nobody’s stooge. You were reported for violating the commons. Clearly it was the right move.

invalidating somebody’s merit because you got banned, whatever “domain” quoted is supposed to mean, and demonstrated bad Will is hostile.
Believe it or not this is me not being hostile.

Unadulterated hostility? I stated unadulterated facts and shared my gratefulness for not having to think about that site anymore.
I was "reported" by you for violating your infantile idolatry of dipSmith. I was banned for calling out dipSmith as a charlatan by providing logical counterarguments to his cherry picking inanity. I provided criticism where it was much needed. With dissenters like me being banned, his site is now 100% Inner Circle jerking, no need to pay extra for that service anymore!
I am intolerable to those with fragile egos propped up by tyrannical narcissism. Banning me was certainly the right move for Smith...he can't afford to have published research scientists with training in statistics and methodology explaining why his interpretations of the world are completely off base; his livelihood depends on widespread ignorance and religious fanaticism.

Self-incrimination lol.
I put "domain" in quotes because dipSmith acts like he is some great warrior of god put here on earth to save the righteous anti-Vitamin-Aers (literally, he has written as much on his site), when in fact he is simply a purveyor of anti-science wielding all the power of a DELETE button on a poorly-organized web domain, which itself could be deleted with a single keystroke by an absolute nobody anywhere on this earth.
