I do believe that egg yolks in some baking recipe is not safe like raw or soft boiled.. Avidin is not a big deal. Yolk is rich in biotin. So maybe it will inhibit some biotin from the egg meal. But it will not make you biotin deficient LOL.. Especially if you take B complex anyway.
That's a good idea to cook the eggs like that, unfortunately I find them disgusting that way, I like them hard boiled lol.
It's hard to know about the biotin unless studies were done on it. The point was not to claim that eggs are not a source of biotin but rather that they probably aren't as good a source as the nutrition data says they are.

Quote from tim on April 6, 2020, 5:36 amQuote from Matrixik on April 6, 2020, 5:06 amHeh, with cholesterol I went exactly other way around. I was afraid about it at the beginning then found some strange data (like Minnesota Coronary Experiment), started searching more, finding more contrary data and finally found Dr. Malcolm Kendrick. Read his long list of post "What causes heart disease" and now I don't care about cholesterol in my diet any more.
Just in short: you get atherosclerotic plaques when something is destroying your endothelium faster than your body could fix it or something is slowing down process of fixing it. When you start thinking in this way there are no more paradoxes (like French etc.) and he provide a lot of data for this.
Spend a couple of days reading the studies on oxidized cholesterol and then come back and tell me that the ~10% of total cholesterol in animal foods that is oxidized is not a problem.
Two of the worst things for our arteries are oxidized cholesterol and oxidized fats. The only two fats that are reasonably safe to fry with are refined palm oil and coconut oil because they are cholesterol free and low in PUFA. I'm not against consuming animal fat but wouldn't recommend consuming it in more than small amounts and I wouldn't recommend frying with it.
Deep fried food is extremely harmful regardless of whether it's beef tallow or canola oil.
Some of the longest lived people in the world consume a lot of raw dairy. I think it has to do with the fact that they are getting less oxidized cholesterol and fat in their diet.

Quote from tim on April 19, 2020, 5:44 amI have another benefit to report. I have a spider vein that has been on my cheek for many years. It has always been quite obvious and red, quite a few people have commented on it thinking I was sunburnt or had been hit in the face. I was considering laser on it at one point. It has now greatly reduced in redness, it is no longer a cosmetic concern. This is probably a really positive sign for my overall health as well.

Quote from Ourania on April 19, 2020, 9:07 amWell done @tim!
It must be vitamin K going up because there is less A to antagonize it.
It happened to me a few years ago, spider veins on my leg where I had broken it 40 years ago. After supplementing heavily on MK4 this disappeared and never came back.

Great anecdote, makes sense that increased K2 would have played a large role in my spider vein healing.

Quote from lil chick on April 29, 2020, 8:14 amThat is really interesting, Tim, and is maybe the opposite of what I just posted about: apparently, capillary issues are being seen with covid.
Perhaps VA is being sent out to kill germs and doing it's worst while its out there.
(spider veins is one of my things too, perhaps seeing some reduction)

Quote from tim on April 29, 2020, 5:31 pmThanks @puddleduck, I was also supplementing daily with K2 for a couple of months, going by @ourania's experience that possibly helped as well.
