It seems that going really low A can often cause periods of higher rather than lower levels of retinoic acid in the body and when that's combined with potential nutrient imbalances from lack of a balanced diet it doesn't surprise me that saw an exacerbation of seb derm. I've had lots of weird symptoms since I began a low vitamin A diet in Feb 2019, there was even a month where I experienced chronic shortness of breath which was disturbing. I've also had periods where the seb derm got worse. Following a low vitamin A diet for years has cured it though.

Yeah well I switched to a 6% and will try to reduce frequency but hopefully it will still work..
Well I don't feel to resctricted atm and as per cronometer all minerals/vitamins are in check except for vA (and vE also not great, tho I have tried to supps but it doesnt help the skin issues)
I hope that I'll see some improvment pf the SD as @max-3 seems not to see any progress. I wonder if you sticked with the vA or stopped, thus maybe if you would have stick to it maybe you would have seen some improvments longer term ? Not sure..
Yes around the liver area. It's a constant discomfort/tightness feeling. Not a "real pain" but the feeling is there 24/7 not related to food. I feel I must have damaged my liver somehow tho all exams are perfect so maybe it's something else entirely but it started quickly after starting 250g fat + daily after following a raw vegan diet so really dumb I know. But it really felt like the max high fat diet hurt my liver badly. How was the sensation after your WAPD ? Was it similar ?

I wouldn't worry about using the H2O2 I just meant prob best to avoid using it for many years.
Yeah I had discomfort, the TCM term "liver stagnation" felt applicable.

Amazing that both of you cured it. Can you guys give me what foods you guys ate the approx quantity and how many meals a day? I will try to copy it.
I will try calcium carbonate. Thank you for the tip. But how much should I take per day?
Also my B6 intake is sky high because I eat so much meat, since it is the only food that I know that I dont had a bad reaction to yet. What should I eat instead? I also had a blood test and my B6 was really high but I thought it was to be expected since I eat so much meat. Never thought it was a problem.
@mat
I still eat low A but I dont try to go as low as possible anymore since I got no results. But Im well below the RDAs on every day. I will never eat high A foods again.

Ray Peat believes that it is necessary to balance calcium and phosphorus in food 1:1. I think I have somewhere 1:2 in favor of phosphorus. I usually mix it with apple cider vinegar and drink it so as not to latch the stomach.
I have been eating a lot of things for these 3 months, so I believe that my result is a consequence of a systematic decrease in vitamin A, PUFA and B6 in the diet. What I eat is the basis of the diet beef (including tripe) and goat meat (low B6). I also ate beans, white rice, sourdough bread from time to time(although it seems starch has always caused me intestinal problems), egg whites, low-fat cottage cheese, pilling pears, white honey and a lot of coffee with sugar.

Quote from Mat on October 15, 2021, 1:01 pm@tim-2 Yeah I could say the same about this liver feeling. So for you the low vA got rid of it ?
I also have gingitivis, I believe I have read that you have/had it too and that the diet cured it as well so that's nice. There is often a link between gingitivis and seb derm/pso.
Where can I find your youtube channel ?@max-3 Thanks. And did you have some improvments in other areas ?

No, but other than sebderm I am pretty healthy so there isnt much that could improve.
Before I started low A I ate a lot of mangos and felt the poisoning of the beta-carotene. My skin got drier and drier. But once I stopped my skin was normal again after like 2 weeks.
I just researched B6 toxicity. Mainstream science says it can only come from suplements, which I dont take. I doubt it that the B6 in meat could be problem, since all hunter gatherers eat a meat-based diet. But maybe its an appeal to nature fallacy on my part. But if I limit meat I have no idea what to eat instead, since I dont tolerate grains well. Very hard to get enough calories without grains and without meat. I also noticed that I do better on medium to low fat. I think I have no choice but to keep eating meat.

Maybe its a bit early to give up if you saw improvment in dry skin dropping the b carotene ?
I've dig into the B6 rabbit hole but didnt got much out of it. Regarding the grains consumption worsening the skin tho, yeah I feel it's common. It's because you don't digest the starch well. But avoiding it forever isnt the solution, one must find why he dont digest it well.. Otherwise yeah you loose so much weight (I'm the same) if trying to eat low carb.

I emphasize not following any restrictive diet. I just cut out dairy and high carotene foods. I've gone into more detail about what I consider a healthy diet here and on my YT channel.

I followed a very high vitamin A diet for many years until about 10 years ago when I gave up WAPF inspired eating. It was back then that I had the liver stagnation.
