@mat I didnt give up, Im still eating as low vitamin A as I can, but I see no point in avoiding things like bananas or beef fat anymore, even though they have some vA.

@jiri

I think the average person consumes roughly a few eggs per week which I think is a healthy amount. I haven't been eating many but I'd be happy to eat a few a week.

@tim-2 Well the problem with "a few eggs per week" is that it's so small amount that it's basically pointless eating them at all.. Because why would you eat lets say one egg every other day? For 7g of protein? When people eat eggs for choline, protein and fats 3 large eggs per meal is like minimum amount that gives you good amount of macro and micronutrients, but eating 1 egg is pointless. That's why I still don't eat them at all.. But I think down the road if I will be doing really good. I think I would be able to eat 3-4 eggs a day without any problems. If the rest of the diet will be low A foods, my vit D status will be good and most importantly my bile flow will be restored. If not I think I will end up eating basically meat and rice for the rest of my life..

I don't really want to be debating such a minor issue but to back up what I said it has a lot to do with avoiding deviating from the average diet and what one would normally want to eat.

I personally developed a nasty reaction to eggs as a teenager eating only one egg per day regularly, they started making me very nauseous, many people are allergic to them, they also contain avidin the anti biotin anti nutrient even after cooking and they also have a noteworthy amount of vitamin A.

Having said that they are a good source of selenium, iodine, DHA and choline. It's unwise to have excessive choline in one's diet though, gut flora converts it into atherosclerotic substances.

This is why I endorse eggs but not every day. Who says they have to supply all one's protein, choline or DHA requirements? As with everything that makes up a balanced and healthy diet, individual foods simply contribute to our nutritional requirements. Seafood is an excellent source of iodine, selenium and DHA and I'd tend to favour seafood over eggs however I think it's a great idea to have both in the diet.

@tim-2 Could you let me know those herb supps you used for gut Dysbiosis again, you posted them sometime ago, but can't seem to find them.   Many thanks

@orion what about just taking low dose antibiotcis? I will see what can do goat kefir + prebiotic fiber from fruits etc.. Plan B are antibiotics..

@jiri I have tried a few ABx, and antifungals in the past, and also probiotics and all the fibers 🙂 so I think I will try herbs next.  Right now too much oats, beans, meaning a very large bowl,  will still cause bloating and gas.   I was intrigued by the low dose doxycycline every few days, might keep that as a plan B

@orion I still think that what bugs and how much in the intestines we have is just symptom of low stomach acid and/or bad bile production/flow.. Because bile is the main antibacterial thing that keeps bugs in check and stomach acid makes sure that no pathogen from food will survive and make it to the intestine.. Sure you can have unhealthy microbiome from diet low in prebiotics etc.. But if you take probiotics and prebiotics and your microbiome is still of. I think the problem is upstream...

Yeah I can't find the post either but here is the study.

The products used in the study were FC Cidal, Dysbiocide, Candibactin-AR and Candibactin-BR. From memory I ordered FC Cidal and Candibactin-AR. They were hard to get hold of, I just ordered what I could get.

I currently have FC Cidal and Dysbiocide in my cupboard in case I need them in the future.

@jiri yes I agree with your upstream comment. I’ve read that poor bile flow causes low stomach acid and also that poor stomach acid causes poor bile flow. Hmmm. Nasty negative cycle.
