Quote from Orion on October 30, 2021, 9:24 am@jaj @jiri one of the reason I started to increase oats was that it should prompt more bile output, thought I remembered reading that oats can do this, but also good fiber to mop up VA and whatever else. So there is either extra bile causing the bloating, or feeding the wrong bugs, or too much lutein, or etc, etc lol in circles we go!

Yeah I can't find the post either but here is the study.
The products used in the study were FC Cidal, Dysbiocide, Candibactin-AR and Candibactin-BR. From memory I ordered FC Cidal and Candibactin-AR. They were hard to get hold of, I just ordered what I could get.
I currently have FC Cidal and Dysbiocide in my cupboard in case I need them in the future.
@tim-2
One quick question, how long would you say you took them for, and what was the daily dosage?

I think that we(people that follow some crazy diets like rice and beef etc..) have really fucked up microbiome and you can't fix that overnight. I always tried things like apples, legumes etc.. for maybe 10 days and because I was bloated and constipated I stopped eating them and started with low FODMAP again.. Most people say it can take even two months. So now I will push goat kefir and prebiotics from fruits like apples, legumes maybe some resistant starch from parboiled rice cooled in the fridge etc.. at least two months no matter what is going on. If nothing will change I will try antibiotics..

Quote from Jenny on October 30, 2021, 11:28 amA healthy microbiome is key. It’s a result and a cause of poor liver health. Another of those negative cycles. One reason I’ve never done the really limited diet here is that it’s not good for microbiome diversity, according to many people. I think my microbiome was messed up with excessive antibiotics as a child and a weird diet (I was incredibly fussy) that included meat, dairy, lots of sugar and virtually no fibre.

Ask as many questions as you want.
I took the whole bottle of one and then the whole bottle of the other over a period of months. Didn't skip a day. SIBO seems to be like any unwanted microorganism, it puts up a good fight.
I followed the dosage instructions on the bottles.

Quote from Jiří on October 30, 2021, 7:57 am@orion I still think that what bugs and how much in the intestines we have is just symptom of low stomach acid and/or bad bile production/flow.. Because bile is the main antibacterial thing that keeps bugs in check and stomach acid makes sure that no pathogen from food will survive and make it to the intestine.. Sure you can have unhealthy microbiome from diet low in prebiotics etc.. But if you take probiotics and prebiotics and your microbiome is still of. I think the problem is upstream...
As a general rule, what do microorganisms tend to do? They tend to change their environment in order to make it more habitable for themselves. So if microorganisms become pathogenic it's often a good idea to use medicine to fight them directly. I don't think anyone here would disagree that it's important to identify what health changes caused them to become pathogenic in the first place. SIBO causes heart disease so that's another reason to use antibiotics or herbs against it.
The microbiome resides in the large intestine. SIBO is an issue of the small intestine and taking pro or pre biotics will probably make it worse.
I believe that the health changes that have occurred for me by normalizing my levels of retinoic acid have improved my gut health but I am very happy I took the herbs. I think when one researches and understands SIBO it becomes more a question of why wouldn't one take antibiotics or herbs?

@tim-2 Thanks for that, so you didn't combine them together at any time? Any preference on which one to start first?

Quote from Mat on November 3, 2021, 12:46 pmI've just received some tests results that were very interesting today. I've done th profile + LPS binding protein.
In psoriasis, often it's th17 and th1 driven. I guessed it could be the same for seb derm / sebopsoriasis.
So I thought it would be high th17, but in fact I have normal th1, but LOW th2 and LOW th17 ! And treg are on the upper side but still in range. So usually high th17/treg ratio is bad and what you want to avoid but in my case it's the exact opposite !
Sooo..I wonder how to interpret that as the results are clearly abnormal even tho it's the opposite of what I was expected (isnt it always?!)
And the LPS binding protein is perfectly normal (and I had the blood taken after a meal!) so I guess the whole LPS into the blood causing inflammation is not applying here at all. It would explain why no antibiotics/fungal ever did anything regarding the skin issue, not even temporarly relief.

I didn't combine them, I think it's best to leave the combining of medicinal herbs to experienced herbalists.
No preference on which one to start first.
