The relationship between Vitamin A, Copper, Ceruloplasmin and Thyroid

PreviousPage 4 of 21Next

@tommy yes I had some within a range. But that was tested after I already was not eating gluten. Maybe I had Hashimoto from gluten for 10+ years before the TSH got high.. Now I don't eat gluten like 15 years, but maybe the damage on the thyroid is already done and I can't do anything about it? The worst part is that endocrinologist can't even tell me(when she looks at ultrasound) if my thyroid looks normal or is small/damaged.. They are so arrogant. That's why I stopped going there.. I was not in his office like 3,5 years. I wonder what she would tell me if I go there. 😀 Maybe I should, but by taking their stupid euthyrox I think it does more damage to my body than having high TSH... I felt much much worse when I was taking T4 and had TSH "in range".. and wanting T3 as well from them is a real problem.. So it is much less stressful just buy it somewhere from steroid dealer or online and doing labs from your pocket.. Once people have issues with glands and hormones nobody will help them in normal medical system. You have to have connections to some good sport doctors or money for some private doctors that will do what you want and not what is easier for them..

I would absolutely love for there to be some nutritional of physiological factor that we haven't considered that is making us intolerant of VA. Then I could eat all kind of things that I like, again. Dairy especially, I miss. But it's not as simple as just taking some thyroid or whatever. I think just about everyone here who coming from the Ray Peat camp has already tried that. In fact a lot of people in this community are here exactly because they followed Ray Peat's advice. By the way, I think he was a genius but he clearly got the whole VA issue completely wrong. Neither his thyroid recommendations nor his other recommendations (diet, lifestyle, supplements, light etc.) seem to fix the VA issue. The "VA is toxic" is the largest thread on the ray peat forum by far, I don't think a single person has cured their horiffic symptoms in regards to VA by following Ray Peat's advice even closer. Unfortunately. Where are the (long-term) success stories?

@salt like I said the problem with Ray Peat people is that they come on Ray Peat forum, because they already have serious health/metabolic issues. What you think will happen with person with damaged metabolism when starts to eat high sugar(fructose), high saturated fat, high copper, high calcium diet. It will cause NAFLD very fast, it will slow their metabolism even more. All that calcium, copper, vitamin D... Vit A is is not main factor here.. Haidut explained this very well. Ray Peat diet is only for people with high metabolism that need to slow things down. Ray had this completely backwards.. Diet for slow oxidizers with damaged metabolism should be basically bodybuilding type of diet(a lot like low vit A diet) that is not high in things like copper, vit A, iron, calcium, fructose, fats... Also if you keep eye on balance between methionin and glycine( you don't eat just muscle meat all the time) that is perfect for most people since most people have low metabolism and are toxic in vit A, copper, PUFA and other heavy metals and other toxins..

Nah, I think you're wrong about just about everything you just said. Sugar, saturated fat, calcium, vitamin D, all improve thyroid function, in my own experience.

Also you're confusing haidut with gbolduev btw, gbolduev stopped posting and the forum he posted on (hackstasis) shut down. His advice was so bad, even worse than Ray's food recommendations, basically nobody got healed so I think he just gave up, he's appears to be completely gone from the internet.

@salt yes sorry is swapped Helen for Haidut..

"Nah, I think you're wrong about just about everything you just said. Sugar, saturated fat, calcium, vitamin D, all improve thyroid function, in my own experience."

If you have damaged metabolism, you have choline deficiency, already liver issues from all kinds of things and you start eating high fructose, high saturated fat you will get NAFLD in no time. Also how vit D improves metabolism when it lowers potassium(thyroid) and increases calcium? It is amazing that I didn't died during Ray Peat days.. I was watching that forum couple of years and the amount of people coming, saying first couple of weeks how amazing they feel on orange juice and milk and ice cream and chocolate and liver, thyroid, aspirin etc. and than posting how they have prediabetes/diabetes or gained 30 pounds or disappear was so high it is not even funny.. Btw I don't know why would be advice from Gbolduev so bad. He was always talking about testing so you do and take things that fits YOUR biochemistry.. But Peat people think that everyone needs the same micronutrients? I mean if someone is saying EVERYONE should eat this and take that run away from that person as fast as possible..

@salt You sound grumpy like a lot of people in here, and that fits the profile of someone with low metabolism and vitality.

The second quote you posted was from Chat GPT not me, the main reason I posted those Chat GPT answers was to show the link between Vit A, ceruloplasmin, copper and thyroid which no one seems to ever speak about in here. People here only speak about zinc for the most part.

No I’ve never implied taking Niacinamide will fix this problem, I posted that quote from Haidut as he had a good explanation about the NADH/NAD ratio going wrong in diseases.

The answer to fixing this would be to get rid of pathogens/chronic infections : mold, fungi, bacteria, viruses (latent EBV, HSV, HPV). The body downregulates energy production because ATP feeds pathogens. Same thing with b vitamins they also feed pathogens and most supplements that increase energy will feed pathogens too. Restoring and balancing minerals, getting rid of heavy metals and glyphosate, raising ceruloplasmin, fixing iron metabolism are all also needed. Detoxing the body properly and dealing with these things will be uncomfortable, it won’t be easy.

Have you done this? Have you gone from having severe symptoms from VA to now being able to tolerate it without any problems? Or are you just repeating things that you read that sound good to you?

You might think I'm too direct, but you are posting ridiculous things like VA overload can be fixed in three weeks with a thyroid supplement. I wish it was that simple, if it actually worked then I would have been cured a long time ago.

As a sidenote my diet is very high in copper, accidentally. I'm eating a lot of potatoes. I haven't noticed anything positive or negative that I could trace back to copper but who knows.

The Vit A foods I’m eating are 2-4 tubs of ice cream a day (has milk and egg yolk), 500ml of yogurt, sometimes milk and sometimes orange juice. I was eating 6 eggs a day but I cut down now that was the only thing constipating me a bit. I’m using Kirkman Epsom salt cream to balance all the calcium. Despite eating all this sugar since January i am going through a de aging process now and looking much younger than ever before. My bile is good 2-3x bowel movements a day dark brown.

Yes I used to have severe symptoms from Vitamin A like confusion, fast heart rate, red hands, really bad blood sugar/diabetes symptoms, headaches, pale stools etc.

It took me a while to get to this point, I did daily coffee enemas 1-2X a day for 6 months from September-march and had Pectasol daily separate to the enemas. The combination of Pectasol and enemas seemed to unblock things in the liver and gallbladder and I had burning yellow diahorrea for months but my face got younger looking every time. I feel like I was detoxing either stored iron, vitamin A, other heavy metals, glyphosate and aldehydes. I also used glycine in water and bile acid supplement, mega IGG 2000 supplement which were all helpful. I haven’t done coffee enemas for two months I need to start doing them again and also liver flushes. I think once I start doing liver flushes (have never done one before) I will be able to eat whatever I want and I will look like I’m 18.

My hair tests are constantly improving. Last hair test I managed to raise selenium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, chromium and manganese which had all been low for the 5-6 tests before.

I don’t think it’s good to eat high beta carotene veg like carrots and sweet potato unless you are in a hot climate and bile and thyroid are working 100% correctly.

I never posted the Gbold quote about thyroid hormone depleting vitamin A stored as a fact, I have no idea if there’s any truth to it or not. I was more posting it to spark discussion, as there is clearly some link between ceruloplasmin, vitamin A, copper and thyroid that people rarely discuss in here.

@alexm " I’m eating are 2-4 tubs of ice cream a day"

how big is one tube? Why do you eat so much dairy? 🙂 I will start drinking some goat milk again. If it is ok with me.. I think goat milk is much better than cows milk and apart from vit A it is really good food.. I would like to drink like 500ml a day at least. That would give me good dose of bioavailable calcium that I need I think..

Wtf…

This takes the cake.

Buddy you aren’t detoxing any vitamin A…

@alexm

As far as the de-aging goes, isn't that what retinol serum and creams are advertised for?
