Another villain - Tocotrienol?

Nice find, really interesting. Most doctors nowadays would probably say they were on a healthy diet, lol. I think the bad teeth came from dried dates. Other than that, I assume it must be a lack of animal protein that gave them these health results.

What kind of starch is the lowest in problematic compounds? Probably white rice, right?

I am concerned that rice may contain tocotrienols. I think root vegetables like potatoes or yams are best.

Earlier I saw a film about Okinawa (the island of long-livers in Japan). They seem to consider rice to be unhealthy food and eat mostly sweet potatoes (although it's purple, not orange). The grains are well kept and I know some tribes eat them last. A kind of survival tool.

By the way, the Egyptians did not have cancer at all (on the Internet you can find a lot about the anticancer activity of tocotrienols). True, usually if something destroys cancer, it is toxic. I read a book by a man who cured his cancer with a diet high in oxalates. But atherosclerosis was very common(found in a third of Egyptians). Diabetes and cirrhosis(beer?) were also common.

And the article says about bad teeth, they added sand to the flour grinder so that the flour grinds better. And then they ate bread with sand ...

So, Egyptians are a good long-term model of high tocotrienol intake because they ate low VA, low fat, but high tocotrienols. Tocotrienols are known to reduce LDL (I think through liver damage), but the Egyptians suffered from atherogenesis. So it didn't save them. Since atherosclerosis and autoimmune diseases are associated with VA ... I think tocotrienols damage ALDH cells (I published a study earlier) and the ability to excrete VA is reduced. Therefore, VA is accumulating even though the Egyptians have low consumption.

By the way, there is also white amaranth. In the days of the doorway in Russia, it was considered food for longevity. True, it has a high oxalate.

Are you talking about the higher classes that were mummified, or the lower classes?  Personally, I think that higher class diets are almost always higher in VA and lead to more problems.

Obviously, this is the food of the lower classes. Higher classes, probably more fruit, wine, meat and milk.

If the bodies weren't mummified, then how would you know they had those diseases?

I've posted before that I wonder if aristocracy ended up with horrible diseases that were blamed on in-breeding, when possibly they were from multi-generational VA toxicity.

Ask archaeologists. I dont know. I read an article about an Egyptian woman with scurvy. She was unlikely to be from the upper classes.

Or maybe that's why people on a low VA diet become more sensitive to VA, because people here eat rice and oat..?
