Here's an impressive review from someone who was on the Marshall Protocol for seven years (source Reddit):

I have been on this protocol for almost 7 years for an inflammatory disorder (not CFS). Prior to the MP I was on a palliative regimen that consisted of max dose NSAIDS, Prednisone, Lyrica and Tramadol. This combination of meds provided little benefit and I was prepared to submit a disability claim.

Within two months of starting the MP, I was able to drop all other meds and work normally. Within one year I was 95% symptom free and able to ski, bike and tolerate vigorous exercise with no significant consequences.

My prescribing Dr. successfully treated his wife who had CFS with this protocol.

I recognize that this is not the most well-studied therapy and probably not the safest, but in my case, it has been dramatically more effective than anything else I've tried.

(As an aside, I do not adhere to the sunlight restriction / low vitamin D aspect of this treatment. In fact, I tend to seek regular sun exposure to keep vitamin D levels within a normal range. I simply use Olmesartan Medoximil at high dose).

I don't remember when I last played any sports. I've become pretty sedentary. In my youth, I was into many different sports and enjoyed them. Sigh.

Thanks. Interestingly, he did not avoid VD. I think, I should try to continue sunbathing under UVB lamp + low VA + olmesatran.

@armin what symptoms does olmesatran help you get rid of?

When I did the Marshall Protocol, I simply went the Olmesartan-only route. I didn't pulse minocycline, haven't used ivermectin. Ivermectin and zinc is recommended for the updated version. I simply avoided Vitamin D foods and took 160 mg of Olmesartan/day.

The symptoms that were the most prevalent that prompted me to use the MP was "rheumatoid arthritis". I was diagnosed with JRA back when I was 16. I had the worst episode ever back when I was 26, before I found the MP. Both knees, right elbow, left wrist, jaw, ankles, neck, sternum, very tight muscles, connective tissues (tendon, fascia), Reynaud's, fatigue, anxiety, eczema.

I've been off and on MP over the past 8 years due to price of olemesartan and believing that simply avoiding Vitamin D would keep things at bay. I was "eating healthy" with tons of colorful plants and didn't understand why things would regress every 2-3 years. With the Vitamin A consumption revelation, it all started to make sense.

I've been avoiding Vitamin A for the past 4 months and on 160mg of Olmesartan for the past 3 months. Things are much better than they were when I started both protocols. There are ebbs and flows but overall I can tell I am making considerable headway. I eat beans, rice and beef. I supplement with glucuronolactone and NAC the past 2 months.  I will stay on the Olmesartan for the foreseeable future as my Vitamin A goes down and things return to baseline. And it is dirt cheap.

And all the symptoms you listed go away after taking olmesatran alone?

I wonder why you take NAC? It seems to be a rather controversial supplement.

The symptoms went away gradually at their own pace. Joint/tendon issues slowly abated, Raynauds got less severe each winter (haven't had it in 5+ years), Eczema is very localized and seems to be seasonal. (Again, I haven't been on Olmesartan consistently the past 8 years). I'm suffering from joint/tendon/fascia issues primarily this time around. They are getting much better and most days I am 80% back to normal.

The reason I take NAC is because it helps prevent cytokine storms and is heralded as being useful during this virus situation. It is the precursor to glutathione.

@armin I apologize for the stupid question, I am not an expert in this matter. If I take olmesatran, won't it lower my (normal) blood pressure?

Attached is a file that shows that Olmesartan maxes out at 80mg for a total of 13 systolic and 8 diastolic. Before Olm, my blood pressure was 118/75. At 160mg/day, I recently went to the dentist and they measured it at 113/68. The only real thing to be concerned about is to get enough salt as Olm is potassium sparing and salt is needed for aldosterone and other renal functions. It may take a few months before your body acclimates and the only issue I have had is orthostatic hypotension early on. Getting enough salt as your body adjusts helps a lot.

The worst was on the days I did labor and hadn't eaten salty foods or drank saline water. I spent 6 hours building a deck and that was interesting. Every time I bend down I got light-headed and that made for a long day. Just make sure to eat salt and enough water and I don't have these issues.

I use generic Olemsartan by using Goodrx.com

@armin

Not sure if I follow, this site creates coupons for better deals at the pharmacy? Is it actually an online store that ships internationally? I don't live in the US. I'm glad for you that it's become affordable to get a steady supply of Olemsartan.

I hope you continue to improve with both the Marshall Protocol and the low vitamin A diet combined. I wonder if Olemsartan won't be needed eventually once vitamin A levels drop as low as Grant's.

It seems GoodRx is a US thing. Before that, I would buy Olm from a Canadian Pharmacy (Northwestpharmacy) that ships internationally. https://www.northwestpharmacy.com/product/benicar

Not sure where you live. Prices for Olm seem to be lower than when I bought online. Sankyo (Benicar) patent expired recently.

Haven't ordered from this site but it is Canadian based and ships internationally and the pricing is pretty decent. 100 40mg for 40$.

I firmly believe that Vitamin A and D supplementation has caused many direct and indirect issues with immune function/microbe proliferation/retinol dysfunction. All of these terrible diseases have an immune system component, i.e. pain and inflammation. The traditional thinking is that the immune system goes haywire and is attacking itself  "for no reason". I don't buy that. Microbes and retinoic acid metabolism issues are much more reasonable and have better scientific backing. The immune system is reacting to a legitimate threat. I will continue to couple the MP and Vitamin A avoidance while maintaining a healthy BMI.

I eat and cook with refined coconut oil. Previously, it seemed tasteless to me. In the last couple of days, I have clearly caught coconut notes in it, the taste of coconut. It's the same oil, from the same jar! What Ourania wrote definitely makes sense.

Thanks for the links, it looks promising. And it's always good to buy from places other have recommended. Some of the online pharmacies can be rather sketchy.

You're right, when the medical establishment says the immune system attacks for no reasons, it's only a misnomer for "we don't really know what's going on". But who would acknowledge that today? When thinking in terms of retinoic acid and elevated endotoxins, it makes much more sense.

Would care to elaborate what you mean by what Ourania said makes sense to you? I haven't followed the conversation. 🙂

I don't think I can convey her writing style. You can read her comment on page 4 of this thread ))

Btw, are anybody here trying to get out of the matrix? A familiar blogger says that when a person leaves the matrix, he has health problems (and not only). There seems to be quite an educated public here.
