Influence of food on ADH and ALDH activity

PreviousPage 3 of 11Next
from google:  "Vodka sauce, most commonly found in the dish penne alla vodka, is essentially a marriage of red and white sauce, held together by a generous helping of vodka. ... The alcohol in the vodka helps emulsify the acidic red sauce with the oily white sauce, allowing the two to come together as one."

you have to lower the adh a lot and raise the adhl
In situations such as bacterial overgrowth or yeast infection, it is believed that the production of endogenous ethanol in the intestine through fermentation is mediated by the production of ADH by the microflora. This theory has been confirmed under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions, and it is known that, in the presence of alcohol, the ADH produced by the intestinal microflora activates a reaction in the opposite direction, resulting in a marked production of acetaldehyde, in in vitro studies. and in vivo with animals and humans59

List of how foods affect ADH and ALDH in vitro

Looks like pear, sweet lime, and coconut water helps hangovers/acetaldehyde

aldh, the best diet for liver and vitamin A detoxification and raising levels of aldh and adh according to all studies are: pear, sweet lime, lemon, orange, coconut water, cucumber, asparagus, cheese, nuts, green tea, black tea, sparkling water that should be the beef diet.

This is very interesting!  I remember there was that poster here who was some sort of practitioner and used coconut water with a patient who he thought was VA toxic.   Also, we know that scurvy and VA toxicity look similar and that scurvy responds to lemons and limes.   Everything on that list appeals to me, except for tea.   But my grandmother, who was long-lived, drank tea (and coffee too).  So many cultures use tea.

I wonder about the sparkling water.   I've noticed that effervescence really goofs me up, but perhaps that is because of it's strong detox-ability.  I love bubbles, but they don't love me.

I don't know how much truth there is to this as no source has been provided, but this kind of freaks me out. I have after surgery (and removal of mirena) been craving oranges, pears (a fruit I almost never eat or crave), sparkling water (which I usually HATE and always have because it taste salty to me), coconut flakes and nuts. I have weird detox going on again since the removal, mostly skin related but also a bit burning and itching.

I get sparkling water cravings too at times. I was thinking about buying a sparkling water maker because we have great own well water so it would be way cheaper. Love pears.. and I get nut / cheese cravings too at times. We probably should listen to our cravings as long as it is whole food because maybe it is something our body needs. I got egg craving today and yesterday, soft boiled eggs tasted so good to me i almost fainted lol as did a mixed bean salad with balsamic vinegar, seasalt flakes and evoo. Crazy! I guess I need to indulge 😉 I am just coming out of a flu. During the flu I got dark chocolate craving! I indulged in a few pieces of dark Lindt chocolate almost every day and then I googled that chocolate is said to help couching if you have a cold! Fantastic how our body knows 😉

aldh the most important thing is that the best food that increases aldh and ldh is tomatoes. And the tomato is the first food that everyone recommends not eating. and it is the best for liver detoxification.

What the heck!    Tomatoes are so hard for me.  I do miss tomato sauce though.

Could it be a "hurts so good" sort of thing?    Instant high-volume detox?

I don't know about this, LOL.   I can eat white pizza all day long, but add the tomatoe sauce and there is a good possibility I will end up with extreme nausea.  And yet real pizza is probably one of my fave foods.   My entire life this has been going on.  I will say that the favorite-ness might be against me.   I probably always eat too much at a delicious pizza meal.   And almost always pizza has come along with problematic drinks like soda, beer or wine.
