aldh the most important thing is that the best food that increases aldh and ldh is tomatoes. And the tomato is the first food that everyone recommends not eating. and it is the best for liver detoxification.

What the heck!    Tomatoes are so hard for me.  I do miss tomato sauce though.

Could it be a "hurts so good" sort of thing?    Instant high-volume detox?

I don't know about this, LOL.   I can eat white pizza all day long, but add the tomatoe sauce and there is a good possibility I will end up with extreme nausea.  And yet real pizza is probably one of my fave foods.   My entire life this has been going on.  I will say that the favorite-ness might be against me.   I probably always eat too much at a delicious pizza meal.   And almost always pizza has come along with problematic drinks like soda, beer or wine.

But it's strange, why is tomato the food that increases ADLH and LDH the most? If it is toxic? Chedar cheese also increases LDH and ADLH, this is very interesting. onions also increase it a lot... does anyone know an explanation for this?

Not so sure what to make of this. The best for hangovers might not be the best for overall health right? I mean if you are needing something to stop a hangover you are probably not in the best shape to begin with. I am not a drinker at all, never felt good on any amount of alcohol ever. I have always loved orange juice and have drank at least 8 ounces a day for many years. The Ray Peat world loves orange juice and soda and still they get fat and sick. Oranges and pears are probably on the top list for herbicides and fungicides. I quit orange juice recently and felt toxic! Whatever increases our capacity to get rid of alcohol at least in the short term may just be that it's toxic lol.

Someone said on here that if we get rid of anything and everything that could harm the liver maybe our enzymes get downgraded and then you can't eat anything because it will make you feel awful. So there is a hormetic effect to the liver. Eat too cleanly and you are stuck eating clean the rest of your life! I remember in the raw vegan world there were some gurus who said a hamburger might kill them. Then they ended up needing hamburgers to heal because they were dying lol.

Alcohol also protects from pectin induced methanol production. Methanol is probably the most toxic thing you could have floating around in  your body as it is converted into formaldehyde in the absence of alcohol. I stopped the juice because it is one of the major sources of methanol along with canned tomatoes and since I don't drink at all I'm at risk of nervous system problems like MS due to the formaldehyde destroying the myelin. The italians always long simmered their tomato sauces and that would boil off most of the methanol that was produced in the can or jar.

That's right, orange juice causes liver damage. But the whole orange fruit improves the enzymes adh and aldh. On the other hand, orange juice lowers the adh and aldh enzymes. On the other hand, I have been eating ten oranges a day for two months, and my liver enzymes improved a lot. I keep saying the best food to eat and cure myself of vitamin A poisoning and whatever it is. Have lemon and orange for breakfast, eat cheese with asparagus with cucumber and rex meat. drink sparkling water with food. and for dessert pear and green or black tea. cheese increases adh a lot if you don't take something that increases aldh it is not good. Asparagus pear greatly increases adlh. Now next I will give you the study of asparagus.

Could you kindly provide a summary of what we can eat and what we should avoid? Thank you

I just discovered something, cysteine lowers the concentration of acetaldehyde by almost 70%, converting it into the form in which the body can detoxify it. Meat is the food that has the most cysteine. That is why carnivores do not have setback symptoms. beans lower adlh.

Even if fiber/beans reduces adlh they have other great benefits like mopping up toxic bile. So eating a couple of spoonful of beans with lots of meat and onions would be a very good option is my wild guess..

insoluble fiber soaks up just as much bile as soluble fiber without causing secondary byproducts from microbial action
