Quote from Janelle525 on June 4, 2024, 9:21 amTime for an update!
So I've been eating one fried egg a day for breakfast for 16 days. So far so good, I'm actually pooping again! It's not super regular yet, but it is much softer than usual. Fried eggs push you more catabolic which can send more water to the bowels. Poached or soft boiled are more anabolic which sends more water to the kidneys so something to be aware of. But if even soft boiled or runny yolk are helping constipation then I think they would be thinning the bile out either way. I also implemented whole grains at the same time, so I would need to stop doing that to see if it really was the egg or not, but usually whole grains cause days of constipation then cramping which I haven't had! I did have one day after a lot of trisquits where I was pooping like every couple hours soft poop like it would be when I did have IBS just no cramping, but that hasn't happened again.
One thing I figured out is that I cannot do gardening before breakfast! That was really tanking my hormones. I've been cutting back on yard work and doing it in the evening because everyday is over 90 degrees here. And finally got some libido back, I think women do need to be careful not to overdo exercise because it absolutely tanks fertility from using up adrenal hormones.
I've still had to use betaine hcl at times, so that's not cool, but I will use it because if not then my minerals go too low and causes low blood pressure which causes fatigue. I need to remember to use celtic salt when my blood pressure is below 112/74. Actually 2 hours after a meal today it is 104/69 (always check 2 hours after a meal), so that isn't good but I have no hypotension. I am parasympathetic dominant which causes the blood vessels to be more relaxed. So long term that's what I have to learn how to fix, have enough minerals on board to not need to be so parasympathetic, or maybe I am stuck in nervous system freeze response. Not sure, I have had to deal with trauma in my life and it does cause issues.
Buttcrack rash got a bit worse since the eggs and whole grains, but it's starting to go more into remission (I think it's auto immune, but I've never been fully into remission).

Yeah I have never skipped breakfast I was just waiting a bit too long to eat and doing work in the morning.
A new update I stopped eating the eggs. Will have to think about this some more before I say much yet.

Quote from Janelle525 on June 24, 2024, 7:08 amI decided to limit eggs, I have more anxiety and my eczema itches more with eggs. More anxiety just isn't an option for me. I was okay for a while but it builds up. I decided one morning to eat 2 eggs because I was going to need the energy to do a bunch of cleaning for guests coming over, I almost had a mental breakdown that day! Lol. Then that night my brain played the conversations like a tape recording all night. This has not happened to me other times we've had them over. I'm sure that's something to do with neurotransmitters being off balance. On the low vitamin A diet I've been more calm and able to let go of things.
I've added in cheese recently because my periods have been super heavy with large clots since not consuming much cheese, I have always loved cheese so I think I need the vitamin K2 in it, supplement just doesn't seem as good though it does work to help the heavy bleeding. I've never in my life experienced such large clots.
Recently I also began having eye pain/eye strain/the feeling like I want to close my eyes. I've heard of this happening to another woman who claimed she was anemic, so maybe the heavy bleeding started it, I can't remember if it coincided or not, but either way loss of blood can put a strain on iron metabolism. Hopefully it clears up.
Eggs turned out not to be the reason I was pooping everyday as I still am pooping without them. Today was near perfect after a bunch of fiber yesterday. So I guess I have to hit a certain fiber amount and then I'm good. Still amazed I can eat that much fiber without cramps. I am going to try pumpkin seeds to see if I can digest those without IBS.
The only other thing new is that I'm trying to stop all refined sugar to see if that can heal my one patch of eczema which I believe started due to bacteria/yeast overgrowth but nothing I do topically stops it and I think it turned autoimmune. Skin works from the inside out, not outside in.
Otherwise I'm doing pretty good.

Quote from lil chick on June 24, 2024, 9:53 amHi Janelle! I also have trouble sleeping after preparing for guests. Problematic things that come along with that are 1. stirring up allergens 2. sweating (and related itching) and 3. celebrating.
I think the answer to sweating-itching may be lymphatic skin brushing. I think I don't sweat properly, possibly a side effect of being toxic for so many years. I think sweat detox is going to be an ongoing issue for me. Sure, shower and have white clean natural fiber clothing. But the itch isn't on the surface, its deep. If you think about it all animals scratch, I think scratching is the intuitive version of lymphatic skin brushing, but obviously we can harm our the skin with our nails. Gentle skin brushing is less injurious.
I have some theories, based on where my itchiest spots are, that clothing toxins are getting into our skin, especially in our sweatiest spots, and some of the itch in these areas might be detox from these exposures (over a lifetime). (my particular issue is where the bra straps have been both front and back). Dark dyes and elastic are both suspect and both sometimes have PPD which is a known horrible allergen and a possibility for the culprit in environmental sensitivity. (so many things trigger that allergy once you have it). I flunked a hairdresser test for PPD. (PPD is in all hair dyes).
When the guests arrive you are more apt to drink alcohol, eat heavily or outside your normal diet and hold in gas! My method of dealing with this is to eat only half my meal and drink only half my drink and avoid things that give gas. For me that is bubbles and legumes. Neurotransmitters can be hidden in tasty/fancy food, and lefovers. (amines etc). Make sure to eat some bland/fresh food. Don't skip meals because you will be using more calories and you don't want your body opening up old fat cells and releasing old toxins when you are under the gun.
I too realize that I've been struggling with anxiety that has limited my life but I didn't even know I had it. LOL. Now it's starting to feel like I have the choice whether to listen to it or not.
As far as sleep goes, I think that severely limiting alcohol has been almost as important to me as reading Grant's work.
You mention "autoimmune"...Personally I now think "autoimmune" means toxic with VA and whatever else. Overloaded with ammo that your body might use against invaders, but has now begun turning on you.
We recently put an air cleaner thingy in the master bedroom, husband is the major dust maker of the family. That one gadget has reduced our entire house dust load by 1/3 (our air is circulated).
Try to do the house cleaning a few days in advance, including the bed making.
Remember not to mouth-breathe.

Quote from Janelle525 on June 24, 2024, 11:47 amHi @lil-chick! We are definitely similar, I am a big health nut. Been trying to avoid toxins for 15 yrs! Too bad I didn't know vitamin A was one of them! Every new toxin I would find out about I'd be like how can I avoid this! I have also been a teetotaler most of my life. I have maybe one drink per yr. Which I guess can cause issues if your diet is high in methanol because then all of the methanol will be metabolized to formaldehyde. That's why studies show that teetotalers have more issues than those who have at least a little per day. So I decided to make sure I'm not eating much methanol. Canned tomatoes being the biggest one but smoked foods and aspartame are a big source. Thankfully I have always hated fake sugar and I rarely have smoked food. But I really liked salsa and spaghetti most of my life. Dang!
Anyway, you've introduced me to a new toxin! PPD! But thankfully I don't ever dye my hair. I do wonder how much of the dye would come through the clothes if they don't turn the water a different color? Ugh! I did buy some more white cotton clothes, but they stain so easily I rarely wear them!
I have two air cleaners in my house one in my son's bedroom and one in ours, it was so helpful for us when we lived in a moldy house, it was night and day how we felt. My rash appeared in the moldy house btw!
Yeah having people over can be stressful even if it's fun. I made dinner, we had marinated grilled chicken which I usually eat once per week, roasted baby potatoes, baked beans, and a spinach salad with hard boiled eggs and a warm sweet bacon dressing because it's cordial to serve salad (darn social rules!). So I didn't overeat or skip a meal, but I was just so overstimulated that day it was crazy. It was seriously a tape recorder I couldn't shut off all night. But yes I was running around all day on my period! But anyway I do still think eggs increase anxiety over time for me, and I would really like to know why! As choline should help methylation not make it worse. But meat does not have this effect for me.

Quote from lil chick on June 25, 2024, 3:52 amI have gone back to wearing dyed clothing but I typically have an underlayer of white and white outfits for sweaty jobs around here. It's really smart not to wear anything tight while sweating too. Gosh tomato sauce is my downfall, I really crave it. I've begun to think that all these studies showing health benefits from daily moderate drinking are done by alcoholics. hahaha
You are smart that you don't dye your hair, I think my PPD allergy started from getting my eyelashes dyed as a teenager 50 years ago. derp. I still haven't found the right bra yet.
