Quote from Jiří on September 24, 2020, 7:28 am@orion For me under 2mg of copper per day. Ideally around 1mg. 100g of cooked White/black beans have around 0,2mg of copper. It is ok even for people with wilson if you don't eat 2kg of it.. So yes rice, beans and beef is great for copper toxicity. Especially because there is good amount of zinc from beef and molybdenum from beans.. Like I said I think that a lot of people are not detoxing just vit A on this diet, but also copper and for example oxalates as well..

So there will be more bioavailable copper. So no more copper deficiency symptoms like white hair, spider veins, low melanin, loss of collagen in all tissues etc.. This With low vit A diet and I think in year or two I can have completely brand new body.
Hi guys, some thoughts. And I know I repeat myself, it's one of my issues. sorry in advance.
- I fit the bill of an adreno-compromised person, and I have all of those symptoms. The mom who lives next door (who drinks the same water) also has early gray hair. She tried a copper supp and it made her feel awful. There are faint blue-ish stains, on sinks here.
2. public radio was talking about how lighter coloring might be an adaptation to an environ with lower copper. Perhaps some people's genes are adapted to low copper and are goofed up by higher copper.
3. white breeds of farm animals seem to me to be the result of longterm breeding programs here and there in europe. Why? My ancestors come from the same parts of the world as these white farm animals and birds. And they get some signs of VA toxicity too!
4. some Scandinavians moved in behind us when I was a child, they arrived with blonde hair and it darkened once in New England
5. has anyone else noticed that reddish coloring seems to be so prevalent in nature? The outer layer of our body is our biggest organ, isn't it? Is coloring an adaptation to use up things like carotenes and copper? My orange cat seemed to have less VA signs than my gray cat on the same diet. (however, orange kitty had a shorter lifespan. did I do the wrong thing by taking away the VA from him?)
6. Is copper released when carotenes are broken up? Just a thought. Is it part of the molecule?
7. Edited to add: strangely enough, one of the things I've been trained in is human coloring. Human beings vary greatly in their ability to WEAR orange. Some people CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF THEM wear orange. It isn't in their GENES. I've often thought it would be fun to add this question to the poll. The ability to wear orange isn't particularly about the darkness level of the skin, however. It is about the undertone of the skin. I can't wear orange, and it's getting more apparent. Could it be that the people who try low-VA and end up saying: "this isn't for me"... can they wear orange? 🙂 IMO those who can wear orange very successfully are less common than those who can't.

Quote from Jiří on September 24, 2020, 11:20 am@lil-chick not much copper in salt, but I don't like for example pink salt, because it is pink due to iron content.. Btw like I said many many times just by eating some extra copper you will not get copper toxicity. Number one cause of copper toxicity for woman is hormonal imbalance - low progesterone and estrogen dominance.. Unfortunately now even boys and older man have estrogen dominance. So they are copper toxic as well..

Quote from tim on September 25, 2020, 5:07 amQuote from Jiří on September 24, 2020, 6:36 am@tim-2 So like I said that I will retest my serum copper once I will not feel that crazy stimulation from "copper dump". I had this "I don't want to do anything" feeling last couple of days. So I did serum copper test again and exactly like I expected. During my "copper dump" my serum copper was 26,9 umol/l. Now my serum copper is low again 12,1 umol/l ref range 12,4-20,6. What is great ceruloplasmin is up from o,20 g/l to 0,25 g/l ref range 0,20-0,60 g/l... So now my toxic free copper is 0,3 umol/l ref range 0,0-1,6.. For me it is clear info that I am copper toxic for sure. It is really cool to know that after so many years of thinking about it 24/7 if I have symtpoms of copper deficiency from true copper deficiency or copper toxicity.. Now I can stop thinking about it and just keep lower copper diet and take copper antagonists like vit C, zinc, chromium, molybdenum, manganese.. Eventually I should dump more and more copper and that should give my adrenals opportunity to heal, which should increase ceruloplasmin production. So there will be more bioavailable copper. So no more copper deficiency symptoms like white hair, spider veins, low melanin, loss of collagen in all tissues etc.. Interesting but be careful before assuming that you have loads of copper stored in tissues. Copper could fluctuate because of more complex reasons.
Like you said excess estrogen is the issue. So a low vA, low fructose, low ethanol, low pectin, low PUFA, meat and grain based diet will help a lot.
You know my thoughts on supplementation...
My skin is way more able to tolerate the sun compared to years ago and since low vA Ive had spider veins drastically reduce.

Quote from Jiří on September 25, 2020, 5:30 am@tim-2 Well I am not following recommended high doses from ARL when I did hair test. I am simply no more eating things like chocolate, cashews, buckwheat etc.. and take small doses of minerals like one 30mg zinc with 10mg of manganese capsule every 4-5 days, same with 400mcg of molybdenum, 200mcg of chromium a day(I had really low chromium on hair test) and some selenium with vit C. That's it. These are smaller doses than when someone is taking a multivitamin.. Nothing crazy like some people take 100-150mg of zinc a day, grams of vit C etc.. I basically follow RDA for minerals except my calcium is much lower than 1000mg..

Yeah it's definitely best to take more realistic doses.
Manganese tends to be abundant in foods and can have quite toxic effects, even linked to mad cow disease, Im not sure about taking that.

Quote from Jiří on September 26, 2020, 3:49 am@tim-2 I had also low manganese on hair test. So I started with some and next hair test it was little higher, but still low. Like I said I take 10mg maybe once a week so it is nothing. You can get much more from regular diet.. But my chromium was even lower in second hair test. So I take 200mcg a day.. I think it is trace mineral that most people are deficient in..

Quote from mmb3664 on January 15, 2021, 3:43 pmI wanted to post a 6 month update. My latest vA levels are 38.8 ug/dL, with the lab ranges being 18.9-57.3 ug/dL. To summarize:
Date Vitamin A (ug/dL) Jan 2019 59.4 July 2019 57.7 Jan 2020 43.0 Jul 2020 57.0 Jan 2021 38.8 I am just hoping that this past test was not another fluke like Jan 2020, especially since I have been feeling much better since my last test in July. My next blood test will be in July of this year, which will put me at roughly 2.5 years on a low vA diet. According to cronometer, I am averaging about 140 IU of vA daily since my "official" low vA start in February of 2019.
