Lactoferrin
Quote from Jiří on November 13, 2021, 8:25 am@jaj when you say ‘coppery’ symptoms do you mean like racing mind, anxiety and maybe even higher blood pressure with heart rate? That is high copper for sure. Maybe the lactoferrin takes metals like copper and iron and makes them bioavailable in the cell? I think it has nothing to do with vit A, but with metals for sure. It sounds like it's exactly what I need because I am copper toxic in organs, but due to low ceruloplasmin I have a lot of copper deficiency symptoms.. If this lactoferrin makes the copper bioavailable it will be huge for me.. I will report back what it did to me. I will start like with one 250mg capsule and work up to two 2x a day..

Quote from Jenny on November 13, 2021, 11:03 am@orion there were a variety of reactions and I can’t remember them all. Definitely insomnia, increased detox, someone became glutamate sensitive, someone said they were ‘wrecked’. However, the Garrett Smith version seems to cause less issues. I do not know why. I don’t know if people aren’t reporting reactions or it’s in some way different. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me tbh. The general public seem to take lactoferrin without issue.
@jiri I get argumentative and unreasonable (poor husband 🤣), I just feel quite weird, when I increase zinc and lactoferrin did the same. I was told my reaction to zinc was a ‘copper dump’. I’m always anxious nowadays.

molybdenum also reduces copper.

Quote from Jiří on November 13, 2021, 11:48 am@jaj yes it looks like issues with copper.. You should do blood test for serum copper and serum ceruloplasmin. Most females are copper toxic because estrogen increases copper retention.. The worst combo for females is vegan diet high in copper and low in zinc and protein and birth control pills. It never ends well.. Rice and beef is great not just for vit A detox, but for copper detox as well.. There is really good web with a lot of info https://coppertoxic.com/
your issues can be mostly from copper and not from vit A...

My current diet is mostly beef muscle meat (zinc, iron, B vitamins, molybdenum, creatine, taurine, selenium, magnesium, protein, etc) and black eyed peas (soluble fiber, B vitamins, molybdenum, starch, manganese, selenium, magnesium). So many beneficial compounds in such a relatively safe combination. I add white rice from time to time.
So true about the vegan diet/birth control combo. Vegan diet is so bad in general without adding another terrible thing like birth control pills. Garret Smith's latest video was pretty informative.

Quote from Hermes on November 13, 2021, 12:40 pmABSTRACT
Lactoferrin (Lf) is an iron-binding glycoprotein of the transferrin family, which is expressed in most biological fluids with particularly high levels in mammalian milk. Its multiple activities lie in its capacity to bind iron and to interact with the molecular and cellular components of hosts and pathogens. Lf can bind and sequester lipopolysaccharides, thus preventing pro-inflammatory pathway activation, sepsis and tissue damages. Lf is also considered a cell-secreted mediator that bridges the innate and adaptive immune responses. In the recent years much has been learned about the mechanisms by which Lf exerts its activities. This review summarizes the recent advances in understanding the mechanisms underlying the multifunctional roles of Lf, and provides a future perspective on its potential prophylactic and therapeutic applications.

Sounds like a raving review of the substance.

Quote from Jenny on November 14, 2021, 2:00 pmIt is. I don’t know how much Garrett Smith is charging. From the evidence I’ve seen so far there is a difference in people’s reactions between the lactoferrin extracted from milk and the cheaper products, but I don’t understand why. I only tried the Life Extension one not the Jarrow so I don’t have personal experience of that one. I can’t really understand why there should be a difference, but I’m just reporting what I’ve heard so that people can be cautious if they want to be.
