for about 3-4 months , with a diet full of vitamin A . Carrots , sweet potatoes , whole eggs .My initially symptoms were terrible , i thought I was going to die
1 : increased head pressure
2 : palpitations
3 : dizziness
4 : Panic , and 24.7 anxiety ( crippling )5 : Vision changes , blurry vision
6 : Digestive issues
7 : Mood changes8 : Dry eyes , and extremely blur vision
9 : Fatigueand eventually what followed was head to toe destruction
hair changes , gut destruction , reaction to a ofloxacin durg which would give me red rashes on skin. Ulcerative colitis , cant tolerate lectins and oxalates anymore , and oh god I can go on and on .
but thank god most of these subsided , some not completely but still they are mild

Quote from Jiří on April 12, 2020, 6:42 amHm ok so it probably is vit A toxicity.. Yeah so just keep eat easy to digest foods low in vit A, plenty of protein, Make some home made gelatin. I am doing from pig feet. 😀 That is great for healing the gut. Don't eat any hard fiber like nuts and seeds. I eat just white rice, potatoes, banana, mushrooms... From supplements I would take just B complex, vit C, vit D like 4000iu with some vit K2. Btw are you sun sensitive? Like you if you can tan or just turn red..? That is also common vit A toxicity symptom.. How long are you on low vit A diet now?

Quote from r on April 12, 2020, 6:56 amThank you !
I have been following a low vitamin A diet since 8-9 months , and yeah I cant stress much on how protein really helped me , beef was really helpful . I never tried gelatin , I would like to know more about how it can repair gut health .
I was doing white rice , beef and chicken only , but recently I got thaimine and folate deficiency from it , now for sometime I have included brown rice and lentils , so far good , but bit of digestive issues , but I think my gut is adjusting to the changes , if not i will probably go back to beef and rice with a small dose of b complex 2-3 times a week
No , I am not allergic to sun , thats why I don't take vitamin D, I am currently living in bali 💥 , so we get enough sun here . I go out everyday to soak for 20-30 mins .
k2 i never took , think I should give it a try ?
Thank you !

Quote from Jiří on April 12, 2020, 7:01 amWell gelatin is rich in glycine which is anti inflammatory amino acid and your body is mostly water and collagen. Collagen is 30% amino acid glycine.. Try some potatoes. They are easy to digest. I just cook them in microwave.. You can try also millet. Easy to digest.. Mushrooms are also good. Good source of B2... Yeah vit K2 is good. Most people are deficient.. I take this 1 every other day. It 's strong.. http://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Promotes-Cardiovascular-K-Complex/dp/B01H3W4B8E/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=K+right+jarrow&qid=1586700019&sr=8-1
Btw also taurine amino acid is good for liver function and vit A detox. It's cheap if you buy bag of powder in bulk.. Living on Bali wow that's interesting.. You are from Bali or? I am in boring Czech Republic.. 🙂

My first time commenting. I've been lurking around for a couple of weeks just reading and learning. You are the first person I've seen here who has the head pressure and symptoms like mine. I took Accutane for only 2 months, but I have stopped taking it 44 days ago when these insane symptoms started.
I saw in the progress post that you have made dramatic improvements! This is wonderful to hear. I've just begun this diet (roughly 3 weeks into it). I don't seem to tolerate any vitamin A at all. At this point, I don't think the diet is really optional for me. When i try eating anything with vitamin A (tried an egg the first time in 3 weeks) and it was absolute torture foe my head. I don't know if this is neuroinflammation or what exactly, but it terrifies me.
When did the head pressure fully go away? Mine is at a minimal, but I believe it's because I'm avoiding vitamin A. But I am nowhere near the same as I was before the Accutane. I am a fit and otherwise healthy 40 year old with no history of headaches or migraines. Until now.

Not to discourage you , but buckle up for a long marathon of up and down until you start feeling better . Vitamin A detox affects everyone else in its own way , this is what I learn since past 6 years of dealing with it .
Initial phase is hard symptoms might be slow at first but slowly they will get worse or might even get better .
Regarding the head pressure , for me it went after after 6 months , but dont stress out it will be the first one to go away .
watch out for gastrointestinal issues that can result from dumping of lot of bile . It can give you UC / Chrons or IBS . I got UC 1 year after toxicity . Thats the only colateral damage left on my body , rest I am symptom free , I dont have any symptoms left that I mentioned above . UC is never a symptom rather a damage . I am again going on a strict diet for a year to reverse the mucosal damage done by Vitamin A on intestines . I have no reason to believe the "Faulty Immunue system " hypothesis 😀 . I am living example of what cause UC .
Anyways , for the first year I would suggest go almost 0 vitamin A, but very less fiber ( i dont want you to have the same gut damage I did ) . even Lori from https://www.treasuredtips.com/how-i-got-vitamin-a-toxicity/ mentions after completely recovering from vitamin A toxicity , IBS is her only lingering damage ( not symptom ) .
Dont eat beans , seeds or any gut irritant foods . Stay on a low vitamin A diet for at least a year ( I would even suggest an almost carnivore diet ( no eggs or cheese or milk ) .
Dont worry eventually it gets better , but its not a sprint a marathon

Quote from Rebecca3 on December 23, 2023, 9:21 amThank you for your reply/direction. Holy cow, I've been eating a lot of beans 😣 I'm also low in iron, so I've been eating lots of beans. My RBC, hematocrit, and hemoglobin levels are all lower than normal, and they dropped a little further within a 3 week span (I've been to the doctor a lot since this happened). I will try to limit my intake on beans then. I've been limiting my intake on nuts too.
I've had some serious IBS problems in my early 30s, but after some lifestyle changes, they miraculously seemed to clear up (to be fair, I'm not even entirely sure why it really cleared up). Having some flare ups recently, but it's been the least of my concerns... I'll pay closer attention to my gut/digestion. Thank you for that tip!
I've been eating A LOT of ground beef that I brown in the skillet, usually with garlic and red onions, potatoes (no skin), rice, mushrooms, and flour tortillas. Oh, and I've been putting ground flax seed on a lot of my meals. Not gonna lie, I've had cake and cupcakes (not every day) and muffins, I handle these well for what it's worth. I don't know if sweets hinder the detox process, but i am willing to cut them out too if I need to. I do have discipline, but if something isn't hurting me, I'm not gonna stop it lol
I'm really sorry to hear about your UC, but maybe in the future, much of that damage can be reversed! I am so relieved to hear the rest of your symptoms got better! This is so promising because I like to stay active, and I have felt like a complete invalid. It brings me hope that I can ride my motorcycle again one day lol I laugh, but I love riding. This has just been emotionally devastating as well as a physical nightmare!
Thanks again for taking the time to reply to me! I'll be lingering around for a while..!

You could try coffee enemas to speed up the process a bit. I was having issues with headaches and poor digestion and since starting coffee enemas I feel like it's speeding up the healing of the liver. Even medical doctors who treat liver failure recommend coffee (I think it does it's work better up the butt than drinking it).

Quote from r on December 23, 2023, 11:55 amI wouldn't recommend testing things if a strict diet is helping , you know if it aint broken why fix it is perhaps s safe route to follow , I have tried many things over the past 6 years only to gain wisdom that let your body do its own healing and listen to your symptoms , if something is bothering your body means either you have less or something or you are putting in something that you dont need
Also I recommend using a food journal , if you are eating more than 5-6 different food , sometimes we add stuff or our progress halts in such a scenerio it is difficult to immediately point out which food item did it , I wish I had food journal when I was messing up my intestine with chai seeds / flax seeds , it took me a while to figure out that this small item is what caused chaos , only if I had a food journal I would have stopped myself from more damage .
Golden rule is , if things are going bad and symptoms are not going away . Revert to baseline diet to figure out what caused it . Baseline diet for Lov Vita A detox is always white rice and meat .

Quote from Rebecca3 on December 23, 2023, 12:19 pm@janelle525 thank you for that suggestion! I have never even heard of this until now. I have had some constipation issues, so this may be a good option for me. I go to the restroom pretty well as long as I'm eating lots of fiber, but eating nothing but beef and potatoes and rice ain't gonna cut it for me lol
- @r-2 i will take that into consideration.... I've been keeping a food diary, but I try to eat such a variety of foods, it would be hard for me to pinpoint what would aggravate me. I KNOW that egg did it for me Thursday night. I'm just not ready for that yet. So you think maybe I should cool it with the ground flax seed? I usually eat 1-2 teaspoons a day. I'm just worried about getting other deficiencies. Now I'm scared to take supplements because I don't know what I need, and i don't want to overdo it on something else.
