@bludicka you are like a walking scientific encyclopedia 😁

Other carotenoids must differ between millet and oats though, as dr G ditched nillet before oats πŸ€”. Individuality obviously plays a big role in all this.

I had rice for breakfast and lunch today. Plus zeolite. Both major constipation contributors for me especially combined with red meat. The next couple of days should be interesting...

Yes, I think other carotenoids are in millet.

And what about black beluga lentils and black chickpeas? I can't find anything about the carotene content but black, purple, blue is mostly good - black rice, purple calamata olives vs. green, black beans, blueberries, blue potatoes. There are mostly polyphenols and anthocyanins and not so much carotenoids.

I'll cook a soup tomorrow with white celeriac, white potatoes, white lima beans and white cauliflower, white is good or black??? :)).

Not the best:

Black Chickpeas has a thin black skin, while its interior is whitish yellow but still probably lower VA than yellow chickpeas.

Good point about the black stuff... Hm, i have bought black (organic) chickpeas in the past, they were black all way through but I did not like them due to their thicker skin so I never bought them again. Maybe I should πŸ€”

Getting burned in the greek sun and being out in the sun daily seems to be great for my skin. I am smooth as a baby and shins are no way near as dry as they were when I left. Feet a bit better but still a bit dry and heels still rough. Walking in wet sand helps with that though πŸ‘πŸ». I am keeping my diet well down here but did have a tiny bite of greek feta and a teaspoon of tzatziki one day. It was divine. Have also been eating unpeeled cucumber and unpeeled pear because A free diet is extremely limited at my (all inclusive) hotel meaning no orcanic either. Have zeolite with me and is taking it before meals esp if I am having bread, even though glyphosate is not as heavily used in europe as in the US I avoid conventional bread usually. Try to avoid completely but sometimes bread is the only available carb and skipping carbs is not an option for me.

Sounds heavenly! I’m glad you’re having a nice vacation.

Ooh thanks! Β  The idea of the wet sand scrubbing skin cells off of feet gave me the idea to get my pumice stone out!

Enjoy your vaca!

Zeolite update: urine does not smell weird as during my first attempt. This time around it smells foul. No, worse. And the smell goes through my pee-bag as well - _- Something is def coming out. But it took like 2 weeks or so until the smell kicked in. Before that, nada.

Sunburn update: I think I overdid it in Greece. That 4 hour bike ride which led to my burned skin was enough. Rest of the time I spent dressed with only shorter times in sun and if in sun I had sunhat. A huge wide one.

Now this is where it gets interesting: Where I now have a tan (tan, not red), skin is tender and itchy. If I scrath, it burns. Same itch and burn as when detoxing A from skin. Also, when I was out in sun after the burn, skin was burning and itching. Also after sweating. But taking a soapy shower actually helped and removed the burn and the itch.

I never burned as a kid. And I had flawless skin too, not a speck in my face. My neighbour had freckles and I remember I wanted them too so I was out in the sun a lot. In my teens decolletage started to get red but rest of body got tanned if out in the sun. Okay, I live in southern Sweden, our sun is nothing compared to Greece, but back then I could be out a whole day no problem.

Fast forwading to my upper teens, after being an exchange student in the states, noticing added vitamins in everything including cookies, eating such foods milk included, probably got a lot of A (and glyphosate) I came bach home with some good extra 20 lbs or so and I was skinny when I left. I did not stuff myself there either so that is not why I gained. I had never gained any weight ever at home up to that date so something did mess me up.

Anyway, with each year I became more and more sun sensitive and after my vegan yeats followed by high egg/liver /pork lchf/keto diet for one year all hell broke loose. Including my skin.

I could no longer get tanned on my legs. Nothing happened, well I got red if anything. Arms still got tanned and face full of freckles. Or sun spots, rather. And I burned very easily too, eapecially face and dekolletage. Of course I used sun screen, I had to. But last few years organic ones with non-chemical filters. Didn't help. Or maybe it did, but I still burned.

Now, okay I burned a lot but I also got tanned. Even legs. And face has a little freckles but not nearly as many as a couple years back. My legs are TANNED!!! I have not had that since my early 20's. And my arms and rest of body too. Besides ass, ass still has a pink hue. See, last day i put on a bikini and laid in afternoon sun for 2x20 minutes or so, front and back. Front did okay, back was sevwrely fried. But the day after I was tanned, except ass.

So I burn, but way less severe (in Sweden I can be out fine but not in Greece obviously) and after I get a nice tan... With a yellow hue to it. Yes! I swear my tan has orange/yellow undertones. Except for one foot which is like 50 shades of... Brown?

So, to get to the overdid-part: obviously I am sheding skin now. I have a nice lizard look going on my arms. But skin underneath has the same tan color as rest of arm. This fascinates me. I was prepared for pink galore under there.

Also, my skin itches everywhere, but not all at once. And if I scratch, it burns, but I am no longer red so it shouldnt. It feels the same as it did some months back when i had a flare-up and my legs started itching lile crazy and as soon as I touched them they would burn like fire. Actually, a sunburn feels exactly the same..

I have also gotten poorer memory again and loss of words and such, which is probably related to the sun and A somehow. As sunshine helps detoxify A but maybe too much was released at once?

Also, feet improved a LOT during that week. My gut was constantly inflamed though due to the resort marinating everything in spices. But overall i kept my diet as good as I could. Breakfast was mainly egg whites and canned pears and pineapple/banana chips/pears.. Toast some days. Lunch and dinner, meat/chicken/lamb with usually roasted potatoes which always had red shit on them. But no plain anything was available except pasta in the kids' corner. I have never liked pasta. Bleh. And, of course, a shitload of baklava. That was my vacation treat. Should be A-free (nuts, filo, sirup). And, water, apple "juice" and pineapple "juice". Never craved sugar as much ever as I did that week. Could have lived off juice and lamb. My friend had the same experience. We thought it was the heat.

So, i burned a lot the first day, and sweat a lot every day (climbed a mountain in 35 degree heat) I ate well enough and took zeolite, my only supplement. Feet improved, skin overall got baby smooth(er) esp face, which was sandpaper when i started. Swollen gut from spices probably. And when i came home I noticed memory issues and trouble finding right words, and some moodyness which has now subseeded. Still have the memory issues though.

Oh, and everyone in my company, 4 adults 2 small children, has gotten red spots on their bodies. Like liver spots but red. They told me about this but I havent seen what they look like. Could be petechiae, which can form from sun damage, and they all burned despite using sunblock. But so did I, minus the sunblock. I dont think I got any. Hard to tell through my tan, maybe a small one on one leg?

Rant over.

50 shades of brown-foot. It looks dirty. It is not. Also retarded toe former bluenail toe almost looks normal. I wrecked it after a 32km hill run in 2008. It has never improved as much as it has over this past year. Unfortunately the light mess up my pictures, i am more tanned than it looks πŸ™‚ also more yellow-ish.

I had to google the meaning of that πŸ˜‚. Not sure I got it... Avoiding vit A and oxalates actually helps. That makes it easier πŸ™‚ even though progress has slowed for sure. Sunshine was an interesting experience though.

Diet now after vacation is mainly rice, muscle meat, banans, raisins, cauliflower, ginger candy, peeled cucumber, bit of apple juice, pears/apples and a bit of chickpeas. Have to eat a lot but I do manage to poop at least once daily probably thanks to the cauliflower and beans. I think body prefers sugars over starches.
