Thanks for posting about you experiences in the sun Liz.ย  It's really helpful.ย  I must admit I am avoiding the sun at the moment.ย  I do pop out in the garden but I don't linger.ย  It's mostly out of fear - I just can't face strong detox right now.ย  I've always been very sensitive to the sun.ย  As a child I was prescribed sun cream for my "sun allergy".ย  I would erupt in sun spots which were v itchy.ย  Photos of me as a child during the summer invariably show a large brim sun hat and long sleeved loose blouses etc.ย  Beach holidays were out.ย  This has continued through out my life though interestingly I can usually build up tolerance to the sun if I start out with v small exposures and gradually build them up.ย  The trouble is here in the UK our good weather is too hit and miss for me to do this with the needed consistency.

I wonder now if my gradual exposures were dealing with enough vit A for me to tolerate a bit more sunshine.ย  Also after coming out in spots I would have to stay out of the sun for several days until they subsided but would then have a better tolerance to the sun.

I think at the moment because its early days in my detoxing and because I'm so ill and its all going so slowly, minimising sun exposure is probably the right thing.

I'm encouraged by your experiences though.ย  Maybe next year I will experiment with the sun and see how it goes and what I can tolerate.

@liz, I saw in another thread earlier today that you were asking (a month ago! Sorry) which probiotics were helpful for restoring oxalate metabolizing bacteria. Iโ€™m not sure if you still need that information but I have read that threelac and visbiome are two that the people in the try low ox groups recommend.

Thanks @bella I will def look it up. I had even forgot I asked about it ๐Ÿ˜‚. Anything A or oxalate related, bring it. Of all things tried those are the only ones actually making a difference for me. Even though I am not anal with chocolate. Funny enough I find it easier to live without butter than chocolate of any kind, and if I strictly avoid all milk products all cravings and most apetite binges calm down. Even chocolate ones. Keep some dairy ie butter and that is all I crave. So weird. Also, a small piece of milk chocolate doesn't really make a difference, I can restrain myself, but if I have a buttered cookie oh man i want to binge that shit forever. Ofc more A in a butter cookie, probably, than in a small square of milk chocolate. But surely that cannot be the only explanation..

I wonder if there might be a correlation between A and oxalate even? ๐Ÿค”

@rachel I am so glad my findings can be of help. I really try to be observant as this is new ground and all. My older sister have same issues as you with the sun, she gets sun eczema with the red and white very itchy spots. I never got those though. She is blonde I am not but our skin types are not that different. She does tan though. I was the health freak, she never was.

Interesting!ย  I'm super impressed with your resiliency on this adventure.

I had to google the meaning of that ๐Ÿ˜‚. Not sure I got it... Avoiding vit A and oxalates actually helps. That makes it easier ๐Ÿ™‚ even though progress has slowed for sure. Sunshine was an interesting experience though.

Diet now after vacation is mainly rice, muscle meat, banans, raisins, cauliflower, ginger candy, peeled cucumber, bit of apple juice, pears/apples and a bit of chickpeas. Have to eat a lot but I do manage to poop at least once daily probably thanks to the cauliflower and beans. I think body prefers sugars over starches.

Hi Liz,

here is the meaning of the word I was using:ย  resiliency:ย  the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

one:ย  it takes courage to go off on an adventure, and sounds like you really enjoyed it THAT IS GREAT

two:ย  I'd like to someday feel more resilient myself!

Resiliency is the ability to bounce back.

Aha.. Well that I do ๐Ÿ™‚ i am half finish. The Fins are tough people, never give up. But the other half means I first try to pursuade the doctors I am fine (dont you DARE put anything inside of me you arse), then I brake down and hate life for a week, but then the bounce appar. Acceptance. This is what it is, I can cry about it or do something about it. The rest I leave for the Lord. I only have two hands after all, cannot carry all shit alone ๐Ÿ˜‚

So it's been a while. I took a break from everything as it started to become obsessive. My endo is as fast growing as ever so I have started medicating with gnrh (synarel) to try and stop the growth. I am on month 4 and in full menopause and yes it literally and utterly sucks!

I have not been super strict. I have tomatoes every now and then amd I have had oranges because darn do they taste good in the winter months. Glad to say I have been able to tolerate both. I used to get itchy throat from tomatoes especially but no more.ย

I have been eating beans like there is no tomorrow, I just love them!! And one improvement I have had is that my bowels have calmed down even more. My stomach is flat almost all the time no matter what I eat.

One cool thing I have tried though is colloidal silver and I don't know but it has really done great things for my gut health. I have been very much against it for many years but after reading a 1500 page pdf with testimonals, including from endo sufferers, i decided to give it a go.

At my 3 month synarel checkup endo had grown a bit, not as much as without meds but still a bit. Next checkup is in October.

I also want to mention that I stopped eating meat. It has always constipated me no matter what so I got tired of it and stopped. This vit A free diet made me force myself to eat way more meat than I normally would have eaten. Heck if I got to choose, I'd live off fruit and the occasional bread and potato. I love fruit and always had. But more carotenoids is something I definitely do not need. But lately have taken up some wild caught white fish instead to get some natural vitamin D and also high quality protein. Whole grain plant based I believe is a good foundation, but 100% plant based no culture has thrived on before...

Anyway. Hopefully I have some more interesting stuff to share on my next update. Also, the skin on my legs are ridiculous!! A little bit dry mostly due to menopause I'd say, but the color had gotten weirder and weirder. It looks like dry cracks but it is not. It is just darker and lighter patches of skin. The lighter "cracks" are the same color as my thigh that did not get sun last summer due to the pee-bag I had.

I wonder if it is loooong stored carotenes moving around?

Hey @lizย ! Its good to read an update from you. ๐Ÿ˜ I was thinking about you just last week and wondering how you were doing.

Im sorry about the endo (and menopause). โ˜น๏ธ Not an easy situation at all, but it sounds like it was a good decision to step away from obsession and accept the options available, as hard as that must be in some ways. โค๏ธ

No way about the colloidal silver! I always thought it was a weird concept, too. Do you have a link to the testimonial PDF?

Oh its good to hear the beans are helping your gut! ๐Ÿ˜ If you havent come across this yet, you might enjoy it:

Hoping things keep moving in the right direction for you, and that you have a good result in October. All the best, Liz! ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. So weird about the leg thing! I feel like my Moms legs look like that for some reason, or did at one point... I will have to ask her next time I see her. She used to be a carrot juice drinker.

Hi @puddleduckย

I do have the PDF but it is in swedish so I am unsure how much you will get from it unless you want to go hard core google translate? ๐Ÿ˜‚ In general people have gotten rid of all sorts of alignments and especially gut issues like SIBO, IBS, Crohns, someone swore it got rid of their cancer, others their cancerous moles, one managed to completely get rid of her bleeding giant myoma in 3 weeks (!!!) and overall people stop getting sick. It is basically testimonials gathered from the Facebook group colloidal silver 2.0 from some years ago. Also like 36 posts of endo and how it gives instant relief from endo pain and one who's endo had disappeared. Worth to notice though is that it was a specific brand only to give the effects. When people switched brand to a "copy" nothing happened. No bias involved. Even my mom who has been a huge silver fan for years has mentioned this as well. I don't know how it can be but I am sticking with the trusted brand just in case!ย

From what I have come to understand, is that silver encances the immune system somehow and it just starts working a lot more efficiently. Besides from killing off gram negative bacteria (lactic "good for us" bacteria are gram positive). There used to be more silver in the foods back in the day, but nowadays only small ammounts can be found.ย

I used to eat shitloads of carrots and drink a lot of carrot juice. If your mom won't be creeped out by you checking out her legs please do. It would be so interesting to find out if my theory is somewhat correct and it is in fact carotenoids going bananas in my (our) skin.ย

Thank you for caring. And I do hope you are getting closer to better health as well โค๏ธ

New year new update.ย

I'd say 2020 was a very overwhelming year for me on many levels. I relaxed my diet, started hormones for my endo, stopped with meat for a while, and fall consisted of way more milk chocolate that is healthy for anyone ๐Ÿ˜…

Cool thing is I no longer suffer any immediate symptoms from eating A which probably made me go bananas. And my leg-roadmap improved a lot.

2021 is the year I decided no more white sugar and no more chocolate. And back with the meat. My diet consists of home made sourdough wholegrain bread, lamb, beef, chicken and occational icelandic cod, a coconut based cream cheese spread, beans, lentils, apples and nuts + raisins as sweets. If someone would have told me a few years ago my main meals would be meat with bread I would have laughed. I love it! If I feel adventerous I toast the bread in my toaster๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

3 days ago I developed gout in a finger on my right hand. I have had onions and garlic in my soups and didnt think much about it. It might have caused it. It is almost gone now after eating glycine by the spoonful. Gout = vit A poisoning.

I am experiencing blurry vision on and off and more affected by stress plus more dry skin amd somtimes the powder is back. So I am dumping more A than my system can handle for sure. So cutting back on beans for evening meal only as well.ย

One neat thing though is that I have completely stopped having episodes of hot flushes. My addback estrogen has been just strong enough to take off the worst but I still had a few ones a day. Not anymore. Another thing is i am constantly spotting. I do not know if it is my vaginal endometriosis flaring up or if it is my body that wants to menstruate despite being menopausal but something is going on for sure.

I had an endo checkup a few months ago after 9 months on the drug and very small changes was seen. Some of the smaller endometriomas were gone but overall still shitloads of endo all over ecerything inside. But damaged kidney has been doing better and the blockage in urether has not come back still. I no longer need regular kidney checkups ๐Ÿ™

I have hope, that I will be whole one day and the endo will be no more. I have faith in the Lord.

2021 is the year of rest and strict diet. However, will participate in family dinner about once a month which means some milk products.

I hope you all are doing well.

And I was thrilled to read in another post were Grant wrote his sclerosis in his eyes is improving. I have had two very large ones for years and years. I am hoping they will go with time. And also all my spider veins. I hope ๐Ÿ™
