New protocol to fix iron/copper toxicity

PreviousPage 20 of 32Next

Rats with anemia didn't eat iron or iron-containing foods. Their iron and ferritin levels increased dramatically when they ate fermented milk... without copper, without iron. With fermented milk alone, their iron levels increased dramatically, and their anemia was corrected.

Not a lot of iron in goat milk.

Curious how this fits in with rat anemia.

Another study: Dairy alone is beneficial. Meat alone is beneficial. Combine dairy and meat and everyone gets sick. Unbelievable. Look at the study.

If you are really concerned with the VA content of milk you could skim it.   I don't.   I also don't overeat it, I eat moderate amounts.

It was traditional to skim it for the "milk cure".

It is harder to skim goat milk than cow milk, you can get some fat off but some stays mixed in.

IMO moderate amounts of eggs and milk "should" be OK-- I think that if they aren't it is because they have supplemented all feeds.   (and I would suspect that this even includes meat animal's feeds)

I thought this is a concept from Kosher Law.  This is believable.  In 45 years of various experiments, I have yet to see evidence that it is a good idea to combine sweets and meat.

I know from years with chickens that commercial feed producers supplement chicken feed horrifically.  All our cases of "bumblefoot" and "Mareks" diseases went to naught within a month of our grinding our own feed from organic bulk orders.  Imagine what we were eating in all those eggs while our girls ate commercial feed.  For context, during our first 6 years of keeping birds, half our girls died after pulling up sick.  When all of them stopped laying, we got suspicious along with thousands of internet friends and switched feed.  They all started laying and we have had zero die in following years.  Instead of not laying, pulling up lame and dying at 2, 3 and 4 years old, we now have girls running around riotously and laying eggs past 5 years old.  Half our remaining girls are doing better now than when they were babies.

So yep.  We are what we eat eats.

Hi @el I found your post about the rats very interesting and looked at the link you posted. I went through the study hoping to find a hypothesis as to why the fermented milk had this effect (increasing iron levels) but couldn't find one, though I might have missed it somehow. Has anyone else looked at the study?
