Niacin

PreviousPage 3 of 12Next

@alexm I said that I will not buy any more supps, but because I already have here two old bottles of niacin. I just tried one 100mg pill and really nic flush all over my body. 😀 I will take it daily and will see if the flush will be less and less over time. Only then Iwould increase the dose.. But I can't imagine that somebody is taking even 500mg pill 3 times a day that is insane lol.. I remember that before I was taking like 300-500mg which was way to much. My blood pressure dropped too much and I had also very hard time breathing any my legs and face swelled up.. This flush on 100mg is ok nothing crazy..

@jiri I stopped it, only took it two times, realised it's a stupid idea as niacin strips methyl groups so you should only really take it with TMG. Been having some liver pain and dry skin on hands and that might be partly from the flush niacin and I don't see these symptoms as "detox" I see them as something going wrong, but it did improve my sleep quality so I don't know. And I think my body prefers the non flush niacin form anyway.

@alexm yeah I was watching that video from Chris M. talking about it. But 100mg is low dose in comparison what people take.. I want to find out if the flush will diminish over time or not on a same dose.. I wouldn't care about taking any stuff if I didn't have issues with atherosclerosis.. So I am taking lecithin, K2 and will try this flushing niacni which should help and maybe nattokinase as well..

@jiri How do you know you have atherosclerosis - what tests and symptoms you have?

@alexm I feel it on my neck on both sides for example. It is like lipomas, but it is in the blood vessels and I do have some tingling, burning from time to time on that place. I have the same on my leg vein. I had period with insane oxidative stress and collagen breakdown. So probably at that time the walls of vessels got damaged and filled with plaque to fix it.. I also get chest pain from time to time where heart is.. + I also have very high Lpa and I had due to hypothyroidsm high cholesterol like forever and due to stupid steroid abuse higher LDL lower HDL.. I will not live to 60-70 that's for sure..

@jiri I see was the LPA over the reference range? I only got that stuff tested once in May last year and my ApoB was at the highest end of the reference range but I don't how bad that it is or if its nothing to worry about.

Maybe consider EDTA chelation as that clears the arteries although if you are in four lows probably not a good idea.

@alexm ref range for lpa 0-0,3 mine was 0,987...  I will do another blood test within 14 days how looks thyroid after taking 50mcg of T4.. I will test fibrin as well and if it's high I will start with nattokinase maybe serrapeptase or lubrokinase as well..

@jiri Yeah the nattokinase could be helpful for you but for me it seems to cause issues if I take more than a tiny amount. I find whenever I have cardiovascular/blood related symptoms it's always from my liver so things like nattokinase are just a patch for me.

@alexm yeah but once you have clogged blood vessels with all kinds of things it is almost impossible to reverse on it's own. So in that case I think enzymes can be very helpful. The problem is that it is foreign substance for the body. So some people have bad reaction to it.. I think it is possible that it ca break down protein that you don't want to break down and you can have some serious issues that's for sure. Like if the body is patching up some damaged blood vessel and you take enzyme that breaks down that patch you can bleed for example.. For now I will be taking K2 mk7 200mcg, sunflower lecithin 5g 3 times a day which should help the liver directly and I think I will lower the dose of niacin to 50mg so the flush is milder. Maybe I will buy here and there some natto as well. I don't have sense of smell from birth so for me it is not a problem eating smelly foods. 😀 And if I will have high fibrin on blood test I will try some enzymes... This looks like powerful blend of enzymes https://cz.iherb.com/pr/arthur-andrew-medical-neprinol-afd-advanced-fibrin-defense-15-000-fu-150-capsules/23710  can imagine that taking this + doing some fasting can cleanse the body like crazy..

Have you thought about taking bromelain or policosanol?  I think they might help and be less harsh than nattokinase.  Bromelain is supposed to help break up fibrin.  I have taken it and noticed no side effects.  It helped reduce my reflux.  I took it on an empty stomach as that supposedly helps more systemically than just with digestion.  I take 10 mg of policosanol 4 times a week.   I read that it might help reduce stroke risk and we are elderly so it seems like an easy thing to do and poses less risk of bleeding like with aspirin.  Both bromelain and policosanol can thin the blood.
