Not being able to fall back asleep
Quote from Luisa on December 14, 2022, 3:34 pm@orion I started taking two a day but I quickly thought that was too much, I only took two a day for like 3 days. I reduced it to only one a day in the morning and recently fully dropped it.
Now I'm eating two to 3 eggs, I'm going to try to keep just two eggs and maybe some days just have smoked salmon instead of it. I honestly don't know if the effect on my sleep getting back to normal is because adding back some vitamin A or it is because the sunwflower lecithin was causing the sleep issues.
Also I suspect too low vitamin A might have something to do with developing SIBO at this point, I'm not sure though. I remember higher constipation whenever I went very low A before, that's after my first year of low Vitamin A, but this could all be related to higher fiber and the issue was underlaying but it makes me think.
I think if I test choline again I will just test it directly instead of sunflower lecithin.

Quote from Jenny on December 14, 2022, 4:04 pmSo interesting @jessica2. You could have PEMT SNPs which inhibit the body’s ability to make its own choline. This means total reliance on the diet.

Quote from Orion on December 15, 2022, 8:50 amThanks for the input, I am using one egg per day to start, and might pick up some sunflower lecithin(180mg). PC 460mgs capsules seemed to push something to hard when I tested them every other day.

Quote from Andrew B on January 23, 2023, 8:47 amSlightly ironic but I've still got this issue. Slowing down the detox does bring some dreams back. Still itching at night when it's too hot in the bed. Lots of things are sorting so I guess I can put up with it and I dont seem too tired during the day. Some say copper prevents you falling asleep and it's exactly like that. B5 seems good and choline is good so no idea left how to improve this.

Quote from Orion on January 23, 2023, 10:23 amLooking at the survey seems the one big issue that doesn't resolve quickly or get much better is sleep. Mine is still so random, some nights wake up twice, some there is no deep sleep and many wakeups. But this holds true, I never get two good night in a row!

I'm screaming - the detox gets stronger ! Absorption improves, sleep improves a little from better methylation usually, existing supplements pushing detox may be too much. SIBO does seem to improve with prolonged eggs per day.
I've had your issue from before the higher eggs as well. I think the detox is too strong for me. The 4 eggs a day increases it. What needs to be done is slow the detox down whilst the leakiness heals (now 8 months and still not there yet). I've said this to others. I reduced zinc, reduced zinc in beef, reduced protein (mine was high), reduced fat and increased carbohydrates. Another factor in sleep can be a need to increase B5 foods like chicken, mushrooms, avocados and eggs. B5 we might not absorb as well as some other vitamins.
Try to rest rather than become anxious about the issue. Being in the dark can help on it's own. I go to bed early. It's never made me that tired though. The detox with extra eggs or a supplement may increase daytime tiredness at first as mentioned before.
@andrew-b, Do you take Zinc supplements?

Do you have some sleep routine? Like going to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Last food and drink at least 2 hours before sleep. 2 hours before sleep no more stimulating activities etc..? Btw hours before midnight are the most important. That's why it's ideal to be in bed before 10pm.. Also lower temperature is need for good sleep. That's why I can't sleep during summer heat.. It's just horrible here...

Quote from Jiří on January 27, 2023, 2:20 amWhat triggers detox the most is sauna that's for sure. I have homemade near infra red sauna and basically every time I use it. I will wake up the next day around 2-3-4 am soaked in sweat.. That heat speeds up everything in the body and stimulates immune system as well..

Quote from Hermes on January 27, 2023, 7:51 amFinish saunas are the way to go for me, it really activates parasympathetic activity. Usually, I sleep like a log afterwards. Exhausted and tired, but really happy and present in my body. I wish I could feel this way 24. 🙂
