Parasites! worms! (asking for a low-VA friend)

There's a guy over on the ray peat forum who takes ivermectin all the time because it increases GABA, that's ridiculous!!! Of course now he's dependent on it to get the same effect like any other drug.
I wonder if Grant has any parasite infections being he's avoided all spices, veggies and herbs for many yrs.
I once had a nagging dry cough from a sickness it was keeping me awake all night so finally I boiled some onions and put them on my chest. It completely cleared it up. Old folk remedies rock! But now I haven't been sick in over a yr. since really working on my health.
Does Grant's ten year update give the appearance of a man with parasites?

Do you know if he's ever actually taken any though?
Posting on a forum with that narrative he has anonymity, legal immunity and plausible deniability.
It could easily be a devious way to use influence to harm others.

The worst parasites still readily infect those eating herbs and spices.
Avoiding animal contact, avoiding unboiled off grid water, avoiding wetlands, avoiding salad consumption, practising good hygiene, poisoning household ants and avoiding third world countries is how one minimises parasite risk.
With pets, dogs carry the most risk as they can be infected with diseases like rabies and hydatids in many countries.

That's pretty cool that it worked so well.

Quote from lil chick on August 31, 2024, 4:54 amThank you for all the participation here. I found lots of old-fashioned remedies on Earth Clinic. I mention that because it used to be easy to find websites like Earth Clinic and now it isn't, so you kind of have to already know that sites like Earth Clinic exist. Sometimes I end up somewhere weird trying to find it. In my searching I also found out that the FDA closed down one supplement company's traditional parasite herbal remedy recently (humaworm).
I've read that ivermectin has been used almost as often, in this world, as aspirin. It appears loads of people took it for covid. I did read about one guy who was taking ivermectin regularly and died. I think he was taking it daily in hopes to help his Lyme disease. He died of a swollen heart. But it's hard to know if the drug helped kill him or if he was heading there anyways. I do agree that all cures are dangerous in some way, or else they wouldn't be strong enough to help you. I think that all cures are best taken sort of "surgically" with time off. I think the fact that ivermectin is taken regularly in 3rd world countries, and on farm animals, we'd know if it was dangerous and I think it probably IS a "wonder" drug, as long as you use it carefully.
Above someone mentioned getting the ova test of the stool and that came out negative for my friend, even though VISIBLE worms were in the sample. doc: "lalalalala". My friend is going to get a microscope to do her own diagnosis! If she is reading this, you go girl!
And, yes, untreated stream water was taken and is probably the source of the parasites.
I have a close relative who grew up in a 3rd world country and told him about my friend's troubles and he said he was treated for worms as a child and "everyone gets worms".
I think this thread has calmed me down about worrying that VA might be important in keeping parasite loads down. But I do think that OTHER plant poisons might be important, and traditional. Such as those in spices and herbs and traditional parasite remedies.

Good point, I never think about that because in general I want to help people not hurt them so I usually assume the best for people unless I think they are selling something. This guy didn't seem malicious, but his behavior in the last yr or so has been different, he started using rapamycin and is aging backwards. Anyway I will do better about not believing everyone's stories.
Yeah I find dogs and cats disgusting honestly, it's a really unpopular opinion as people treat their dogs especially as miniature humans, but I was the one to clean up my Mom's dog when it would poop outside and get it all over it's fur (she did not take care of our home well), and I bought a house once that we didn't know had cat urine all over the corners, took a lot to get that smell out.

Yes I could see vitamin A being used as a weapon. It was very very enlightening to see an original study on an infant with apparent vitamin A blindness was not blind because it somehow destroyed the retina (as many would be led to believe by the name!), but because the oil glands were destroyed and another study showed the glands only get destroyed in vitamin A deficiency if there was an infection. If we can't produce the oil the tears evaporate and cause scarring of the cornea. The infant also had fluid in the lungs indicating some level of infection and she also had a fever before death. That doesn't mean that being low in vitamin A actually causes the infection though.
In an an environment that's ultra clean and pasteurized I wouldn't expect there to be much parasite pressure though. I have been a fan of sanitation since being anti-vax because it's clear looking at the graphs that infectious disease dropped significantly after the advent of plumbing. So I'd rather poor communities be given access to clean water, mosquito netting, and sewage treatment rather than vaccines and pesticides. I think ivermectin would be safe to use if there are nasty parasites, but some say our lack of parasites causes other problems.
What evidence is needed to diagnose an infant as vitamin A deficient? Would an old man be deficient by those standards after eating a vitamin A depleting diet for a decade?
Agree on the hygiene movement where Leicester proved your theory out during the early internal warfare over forced vaccines in England.

Back then it was keratinized skin, organs and eyes. But the infant who died back then was severely malnourished as well!!! We have very few documented cases of vitamin A deficiency blindness without malnourishment. In fact are there any? I think there was one of a boy who lived on chicken nuggets and bread, he was developing eye problems.

Anthelmintics have potential as cancer treatments so an agent could be assigned to delegitimize and demoralize them in the eyes of health seekers or create anecdotes of irresponsible usage for the media to then run with.
I resonate with your feelings on dogs.
I already wasn't fond of dogs generally but after I learned more about canine parasites and I started noticing dog poo more in public places I started to dislike dogs and dog owners.
I like cats but wouldn't own one, it is unhygienic keeping an animal inside one's home.

In conclusion, the present study suggests that ivermectin may induce serious hepatic disorders when used in patients with COVID-19, which may further complicate the clinical outcome of these patients. Close monitoring of COVID-19 patients receiving ivermectin is necessary, particularly in patients with other risks for hepatic injury such as pre-existing liver disorders and the concomitant use of hepatotoxic drugs

Yes I knew that about the anti-parasite drugs and also anti-fungal drugs too right? And also apparently someone healed their stage 4 cancer with habanero peppers. https://discover.hubpages.com/health/How-I-Cured-Stage-4-Cancer-in-Two-Weeks-For-Less-Than-The-Cost-Of-A-Night-At-The-Movies
He also claims grated ginger can do the same.
Animals are very dirty!!

A parasite reservoir with a taste for animal poo and roadkill. Imagine keeping that in your home.
Hulda Clark's theory was interesting, that heavy metals and other toxins make parasites even more problematic.
Either way both heavy metal toxicity and parasitic infection are important root causes of disease.
