Thiamine story

Personally I still experience VA dumping symptoms (a good thing I believe) while taking a b-complex supplement.

Does anybody experience odd sulphuric body odors when supplementing with Thiamine HCL/Allthiamine? A few hours after I ingest it, my skin starts to smell a little like the supplement itself.

@ourania

You mention how you have supplemented with TTFD by Takeda Laboratories. Where did you buy the supplement? All I could find is Allthiamine in powder form by Ecological Formulas: http://www.rmsmedical.com/product/refallipwd250.html

Takeda (Japan) makes ALINAMIN, which includes their TTFD.

There are several formulations. I used Alinamin Xplus, which I bought from ebay..

What I could find were these search results on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=alinamin+xplus&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=alinamin+xplus+b1&_osacat=0

It looks like it's plain B1 HCL.

Alinamin Xplus contains fursultiamine (TTFD).

For example look here : https://www.takaski.com/product/takeda-alinamin-ex-plus-60-tablets-tired-eyes-stiff-shoulders-back-pain/

@christian thiamin is a sulphur containing supplement. I’ve seen Elliot Overton mention this and I think he recommends molybdenum to support the sulphur pathway to produce sulphate. However, it’s more complex than just molybdenum, although this can help. If the sulphur pathway gets blocked then people start to react to sulphur in supplements and food. Do sulphur foods affect you? I’ve done a lot of research on the sulphur pathways in the human body and am happy to share some links if that would be useful. It’s an incredibly vital, but under appreciated, pathway to have working well for health.

@jaj Jenny definitely interested in more info on unblocking sulphur pathways.  What are main symptoms if they are blocked?

Did you mention epsom salt baths unblocked it for you?

@ourania

Ah, you're right. Thanks for the link.

@jaj

Are you saying that body odor after thiamine supplementation might be indicative of some issues with the sulfur pathways?

I can't really say if sulfur foods affect me in any particular way, like onions which I actually enjoy. With thiamine, I'm a little unsure if some bacteria in the gut proliferate on it.

Please elaborate on the sulfur pathways and how it's relevant for health. 🙂
