I just got some recent thyroid and serum retinol test results.
My serum retinol is at the exact same level as 6 months ago, 1.8 umol/L. At least it's not higher LOL.
My TSH is 1.9 and my Free T4 is 12.4
I feel like my health is the best it's been since I was a teenager.
From my symptoms, I'd say I have lower levels of retinoic acid in my body. I obviously started with a large amount of vA in my liver though and that is taking a while to deplete.

@tim-2 Why people always test T4 and not T3, when T3 is the most important thyroid hormone... 🙂

@tim-2 so that converts to ~38ug/dL, so about half way to 20. I think from the numbers I crunched on other peoples reports, it should continue to drop at ~2ug/dL per month, so maybe ~10-12 more months and you should be feeling really good.

@orion
From the conversion tools I found online it converts to about 51 mcg/dL?
I'd say my body will maintain this level until stores start to get low and then I'll see it rapidly decline.

Another change that I made recently which I think is very important is I stopped drinking fluoridated water. I also stopped drinking iced tea. I buy water in glass bottles, it is labelled as mineral water but it's actually more like spring water. This change will probably improve both cognitive and thyroid function.

@tim-2 ah ok, 51mcg is much higher, is this your first serum test? Here's to the number dropping off a cliff soon!

Serum retinol @ 12 months: 51 mcg/dL
Serum retinol @ 18 months: 51 mcg/dL
Cheers! I'll probably have my next test at the 2.5 year mark.

@tim-2 It is fascinating that the VA rates stay solid at 51 for 6 months, even after a year, pointing to the knowledge that the liver can store huge amounts. Thanks for sharing.
