The relationship between Vitamin A, Copper, Ceruloplasmin and Thyroid

PreviousPage 13 of 21Next

@alexm It is hard to tell if I feel better. I had a lot of stress last 30 days. This crash on the bike, molar tooth extraction(x ray, antibiotics). Unexpected death of my aunt, stress from thinking if I should completely change my life and move to Netherlands for work etc.. And what could be the cause of high Lpa? I have no idea.. Maybe this copper toxicity, hypothyroidsm or just genetics..

@alexm I wonder if I felt so bad on T4 pills because I was doing stupid bodybuilding diets and was taking steroids. So I had high hormones that are very hard for the liver to process and eliminate + I was probably eating too low carloeis so the body was converting all that T4 into reverse T3 anyway? Maybe with what I know now and after detoxing some vit A taking T4 pills can actually work for me? Also I had issues with mercury from amalgams so selenium was also low for sure in that time. Now amaglams are out and I take selenium daily so maybe now when I will not stress my body by doing stupid stuff all that T4 can do actually good to my body? Also because it was not working I was taking higher and higher doses. So that was another reason why my reverse T3 was very high, because I was taking too much of that T4.. I have low thyroid my whole life that's for sure. I think due to hashimoto.. When I look at all my pictures where I am 10-13-15... my face with swelling around the eyes.. Just perfect example of hypothyroid face.. So I will try to find some endo and will start on T4 again, but much lower dose. Not 150mcg or crazy shit I was taking, but something like 50-80mcg and will see.. I think it is important to keep TSH down, because it is inflammatory hormone right...

"All T4 in your body is produced by the thyroid gland—about 80 to 100 micrograms (mcg) per day. Roughly 10 times that amount of T4, about 1000 mcg, is constantly circulating in your blood."

So maybe up to 100mcg will be good dose.. I was taking 125/150mcg if I remember and felt much better when I stopped.. So I was still hypothyroid, but reverse T3 was slowly going down for sure.. Unfortunately I can't test for reverse T3 here which really suck..

@jiri Do you ever fast if so how long have your fasts been for and did it help in any way? I've been doing 24 hours fasts recently and my body really needed them plus I find them very relaxing.

@alexm I tried  3 day water fasts two times and I felt like I was dying. Lower and lower body temperature, blood pressure and pulse. It just doesn't work for me at all.. I feel like for me it is ideal to fast over night 12-14 hours, but that's it.. Tomorrow I will go to endo. Wonder what she tells me that I wasn't there like 5 years lol... I wonder how that T4 will work now. When I detoxed some vit A, mercury and when I will make sure that I am eating plenty of calories so the body will not convert that T4 into reverse T3 too much.. On top of that T4 I will keep taking some T3 from ildea labs for sure. Especially during the winter..

Edit- I am just looking at some older blood work I done during the time when I wasn't taking any thyroid hormones. In july 2020 I had TSH 9,7 but free T3 almost on the top of ref. range 5,5 pmol/l. It is strange as fuck.. I had also low leukocites but elevated eosinophils and basophils. This issues with white blood cells I have all the time. Does it look like I have issues with some virus, bacteria or something like that? Should I go to my MD and tell him about that? I am not sure if they would run some tests what could be wrong? O it is simply due to low bioavailable copper and good thyroid/adrenal function should fix that copper issue and copper should fix that bacterial, viral or whatever issue I have?

@alexm when I think about it again my issues will be related also to iodine for sure.. Maybe it is even the main issue why I have thyroid problems.. I feel like I can't handle 10-15mg that tells me that my body really is full of garbage that iodine is pushing out. Healthy people can take crazy high doses and don't feel anything.. So I will keep taking it in a dose that I feel like I can handle. + selenium, celtic sea salt water to transport that iodine into my thyroid.. I just hope that taking T4/T3 will not somehow inhibit that saturation of the thyroid and whole body with iodine..  On Ray Peat forum member with nick  Jam has really good topics on iodine.. Really recommend them..

@alexm so I went to the endo and surprisingly she wasn't pissed at all that I wasn't there 6 years lol. I showed her the blood work that I did 2 months ago when I wasn't taking T3 and because the TSH was relatively low and all hormones somewhat in range she gave me Letrox(T4) only half of 50mcg tablet a day. lol So I don't know if I should take that.. Only 25mcg a day? heh.. She did also ultrasound and no changes after 7 years. Still some small nodules, but that's it. I think I really have low iodine.. Mainly due to my past when I was doing bodybuilding. I wasn't taking any iodine or iodized salt for like 10 years + I had vey high estradiol from steroids and iodine is used up to convert estradiol into other forms of estrogen.. I will take the maximum dose of lugol where I don't feel negative effect. Last time I tried 14mg a day I felt like shit. So I will stay under 10 mg and will see over time.. I will keep taking T3 from idealabs for sure. It is starting to really work. Temperature around 36.7 which is unheard of for me. I think that just now after 5-6 weeks of taking it the body is saturated and I can really feel it.. But I don't know what to do with that synthetic T4. Do you think it can help something? Small dose like that?

here is the blood work that I showed her..

@alexm  It is funny how I say in one post "I will keep taking T3 from idealabs for sure"

and now I will say that I need to stop this T3 experiment for now. I am taking it like 6 weeks. It didn't started bile production/detox. But it increases adrenaline for sure or sensitivity to stress hormones they say and I think they are right. Once I stress my body with even mild intensity physical activity I feel that cold adrenaline type of sweating and for me it is very hard to manage this hormone balance with the dosing and timing of the dosing. I can hardly sleep. I feel like most of the time my heart is racing at night. That is the last thing I want to not having good sleep... It is funny how Ray Peat and his followers will say T3 will lower stress hormones.. That is complete BS... Also I feel like I was already low in some micronutrients and by pushing it with T3 I am making things only worse.. Anyway I never had issues with low T3. I had issues with low T4 and high TSH which does look like low iodine and because I feel like complete shit from taking lugol iodine even doses around 10mg I know that I am toxic in other halogens and/or heavy metals... So I will slowly increase my iodine intake and take some T4 and make sure that I don't stress my body with stupid stuff so the body will make active T3 from that T4 and not reverse T3...

@jiri I have played with all the NDT T3 T4 supps, and its the same result as you... trying to mimic what the body is doing with T3 dosing seems impossible.  Maybe ultra short mini experiments, but long term just messed me up, worst sleeps ever, and adrenaline wired rage.

@orion Yeah it is impossible mimic natural release of active T3.. I can see how T4 can work because it simply saturates the body with inactive hormone and the body itself will convert exactly what needs and when it needs. The problem for most people is that they are low in selenium, their liver is fucked etc.. They simply don't fix their cause of the problem like females for example with estrogen dominance, high copper, low iodine, zinc etc.. When they start taking T4 only negative will happen because that T4 will lower TSH so the body stops producing even that small amount of T3 that was in the blood before taking T4 and just reverse T3 will go up. So they end up even more hypothyroid..

@alexm I wonder what can be in my urine if I have redness on my penis from it.. around peehole and forekin exactly in places where it can come in contact with the urine so it must be iritation from the urine.
