The relationship between Vitamin A, Copper, Ceruloplasmin and Thyroid
Quote from Alex on July 23, 2023, 11:40 am@jiri That was me who made that post on the RP forum lol. Lemme know how the T3 goes when you try it.

Quote from Alex on July 23, 2023, 12:02 pm@jiri The thyroid is low from chronic infections and heavy metals, pufa, chemicals/pesticides and possibly excess Vit A . The only way to fix that is do ARL or TEIs programme in combination with a lot of detox procedures.
Thing is though ARL and TEI programmes can be rough as it’s basically chelation therapy, it’s forcing your body to use enzymes it wasn’t using before to change the biochemistry and detox heavy metals and infections. If you do their programme you need to commit to it and not focus on bad symptoms from their supplements and just ride out the 12 week cycles of their suggestions for your HTMA results and should reach a better baseline.

Quote from Alex on July 23, 2023, 12:23 pm@jiri Part of the issue is copper stuck in the liver, that’s what keeps ceruloplasmin and potassium low, which causes low bioavailable copper and iron and high ferritin and just major oxidative damage.
I think you said you had high ferritin , well so did I too.
Bioavailable copper is needed to regulate iron in the body but with a malfunctioning liver and weak adrenals, you don’t make enough ceruloplasmin to regulate iron and copper.

Or in my case hashimoto. I know 100% I had issues with gluten(after they put amalgams in my mouth) and I keep eating it another 10 years because I didn't know better.. So maybe the damage is done and I can't do nothing about it just take thyroid hormones.. I have copper toxicity for sure. Because I was taking steroids= high estrogen + cholestasis = crazy copper retention.. I don't think I have serious issue with heavy metals like mercury I had my amalgams removed and I don't eat fish anymore. Just from time to time some sardines.. Another cause of my issues is apartment building where I live. A lot of EMF from TV towers above my head + I am close to notebook a lot because after work there is nothing to do just watch to the PC.. I am also doing a lot of cycling. Today I did 4 hour(100km) bike ride. That is good for moving things, but when I have cholestasis I can't eliminate much.. But I can't help myself. I love riding bike and it keeps me sane. It burns all this nervous energy that I have probably from copper.. I really need to move to Spain or some country like that where I can be outside most of the time just on the beach grounding in salted water.. I would love to do TEI program, but I can't do it here. It would be much more harmful than helpful. I need some safe and calm place to stay. So I can relax and focus on healing.. Unfortunately here are my parents + my sister with kids and they stress me so much it's crazy. Basically I am always on the edge waiting what they would need from me. For example my sister is building a house and she would like me to work there like it is my job lol. She don't understand that when I am working hard 5 days a week I don't want to work even harder on the weekends. That I want to relax and do things that I like.. Simply she is full of herself it is sad.. So I have to move so I know nobody will fuck with me and I can jsut do my thing. So far I can't find some job next to ocean.. Only warehouse work in Netherlands lol. That would be great for adrenals. :)))

Quote from Alex on July 24, 2023, 4:03 am@jiri Yeah i don’t believe there is any “autoimmune”disease. It makes no sense for the body to attack itself for no reason. It’s just people with heavy metal toxicity and a mix of chronic infections EBV, Candida + mold , bacterial infections and this causes mineral dysfunction and issues with Vitamin A metabolism too.
I had high ANA and ENA which are the main markers for lupus, it just means necrosis tissue death. I always had white blood cells at the low end meaning I had immune deficiency from burden of chronic infections.
The EMF stuff I think also is just heavy metal toxicity, when you get the heavy metals out then you won’t be sensitive to EMF anymore.
I completely agree with you I don’t think it’s good to do TEI or ARL programme unless you have a relaxed place to live and detox otherwise it will just make you worse.
And certain people won’t do well on TEI or ARL programmes, I think I saw Orion say he did TEIs programme for 6 months which didn’t work that well for him but then found Grants work and did the Low Vit A diet which did solve his issues.

Quote from Alex on July 24, 2023, 4:11 amI like this theory about autoimmune disease makes sense to me.
“Now, this new study shows those low-grade infections are in fact NOT resolved and continue to linger, thus causing a number of autoimmune conditions including Lupus. Specifically, one bacteria called Enterococcus gallinarum(EG) was shown to translocate spontaneously from the gut (due to the compromised gut barrier) into the liver and lymphatic system and cause all the symptoms and pathology associated with Lupus.”

Quote from Jiří on July 24, 2023, 8:22 am@alexm but you can test anti bodies like TPO which I had elevated and you can see on ultrasound that you have small/damaged thyroid when you have hashimoto.. Btw I was reading the other day somewhere that high TSH can rebuild thyroid tissue and if you start taking hormones and you crush your TSH this growth of the new tissue is not possible.. But at the same time they say high TSH is inflammatory and can cause thyroid cancer.. I do have chronic inflammation. Maybe it's just from high TSH. Will see how my new blood tests will look like.. I am really scared to start with the T3 heh. I don't even know how should I take it. THey say if you take to small dose it is worse than having high TSH and somewhat lower T3.. Because my free T3 or even T4 is never below the reference range even with TSH 8-13... But if I take just small dose of T3 lets say 1-2 drops it can crush my TSH but the overall amount of T3 in my body can be even much lower than the amount when I was not taking anything.. SO I have to take good dose to fully supplement what was my body making + more so the level in my body is ideal.. But I remember what Gbolduev was saying that taking thyroid hormones can do huge oxidative damage.. Maybe my body is lowering thyroid for a reason and I can create a lot of issues from taking it. So I am still not sure lol... I have to do the blood test after at least couple day of rest. If I do the blood test now when I do hard manual labor + I am bike riding like crazy I know for sure my TSH will be much higher and free T3 lower...

Quote from Henrik on July 24, 2023, 12:38 pmI'm not surehowto go about this, but that ray peat post is sort of hogwash... Im not saying it to be mean its just so much conjecture there - like just the idea that b1 deficiancy would be rampant in Peaty circles - Ive seen no such indications, rather an oversupplementation of vitamin Bs (opposed to Peats suggestions). Also "Retinoic acid increases metabolism"?? On what do you base this - it's quite clear both from individuals thyroid improvement on low A diet and Grants research that it does no such thing. Also I was Peating for over 10 years with nice thyroid panels and taking vitamin B while getting my toxicity - and while it's true that it A oxidises easily and that you need B's to handle the detox - the rest of the logic is quite simplistic, and I must say I feel also thoroughly debunked in Grants books. I of course agree that you can handle more A if your machine is running well (high metabolism) -thats a generalized observation that yes we do handle more shit when having good thyroid function. Unless I see some serious research backing this up I call BS. I know its quite strong language but I feel its an important issue so Im going hard but on the ball, not the player. 🙂

Quote from Jiří on July 27, 2023, 10:13 am@alexm blood work is here.. 🙁
So TSH is not so crazy bad, but what I expected is very high Lpa cholesterol... I know for a fact that I have some serious blockages in cardiovascular system. I can feel the lumps of atherosclerosis on my neck and even leg veins. I was thinking that it is just lipoma like fat tumor, but it is not it is directly where the veins are.. Anyway T4 is low. So I think that I really have issues wuth T4 production. Free T3 doesn't look so bad so the body has no issue converting T4 to the T3, but there is simply not enough T4.. White blood cells also out of ranges.. That is probably from low bioavailable copper.. Anyway I think I will start tomorrow with T3. I will do like 4 drops a day and will see how I feel..

Uploaded files:Quote from Alex on July 27, 2023, 11:23 am@jiri Interesting, do you get your bloods done for free or do you have to pay for them? I can’t get anything done for free here due to a crappy health system.
Check this Gbold posted about copper and aldehydes, wish he was still around I only found out about him this year but I think he would be able to give me some helpful advice if he was still active which he isn’t…
“I also think that the problem with copper bioavailability is because of aldehyde enzymes. Most copper enzymes produce aldehyde. and if you produce or expose to too much aldehyde from candida, gut dysbiosis because of lack of bile let's say, then acetaldehyde can be very high and this stops copper enzymes which breaking down serotonin and histamine, and you end up with high cortisolWe recently found that most POIS people have extremely high levels of malassezia restricta . which could be a reason for the IBD, gut problems, crons, and CFS.
10 people got tested and all of them had that. It is a fungus , so creates this acetaldehyde
It could to do with potassium concentration of the cell, and intracellur acidosis and extracellular alkalosis. thus this fungus grows. I am looking into this.
may be that is why some people felt better on nystatins etc fluconazoles”
