"white food", and an intriguing old fashioned (white food) cure

PreviousPage 2 of 3Next

We eat white corn often.    Some is whiter than others, just like potatoes.   Also sometimes blue.   My husband LOVES corn.

I’ve bought some white maize flour and will try it out!

Tufts university (where some of the eugenics work seems to have taken place) says white carrots don’t contain much beta carotene

The thin dried vermicelli rice noodles seem to be fine (I didn’t seem to have a reaction). The thicker rice noodles are made of rice and tapioca. While cassava has beta carotene (and has been fortified - golden cassava), tapioca seems to have less/hardly any so may try the thicker noodles).

It’s not as easy to get white tinned corn here

I may also try a little bit of semolina (have had bad reactions to wheat since the vaccine). While white flour must be fortified in the U.K. (iron, niacin, calcium and thiamine), A.I. says that semolina doesn’t need to be fortified by law (it should say on the packet if it has been).

This deleted user mentions white carrots being acceptable on the diet

That was me.  Have not had much experience with white carrots.  Have heard from others that they are ok.  How would we know though?  Not a lot of experimental work done.

I bought some heirloom seeds and am growing white carrots. Not ready to eat yet (I hope they grow).

vanilla may also be ok

Although vanilla flavouring seems to be derived from petrochemicals

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vanillin
Vanillin is an organic compound with the molecular formula C8H8O3. It is a phenolic aldehyde. Its functional groups include aldehyde, hydroxyl, and ether. It is the primary component of the ethanolic extract of the vanilla bean. Synthetic vanillin is now used more often than natural vanilla extract as a flavoring in foods, beverages, and pharmaceuticals.

Aldehyde dehydrogenases (EC 1.2.1.3) are a group of enzymes that catalyse the oxidation of aldehydes.[2] They convert aldehydes (R–C(=O)–H) to carboxylic acids (R–C(=O)–O–H). The oxygen comes from a water molecule. To date, nineteen ALDH genes have been identified within the human genome. These genes participate in a wide variety of biological processes including the detoxification of exogenously and endogenously generated aldehydes.

An issue with the white corn flour may be that glyphosate is used (see the poster to farmers in the link saying that paraquat can help with soybeans and corn) even if the corn itself is no/low beta carotene.

Linking fossil fuels and pesticides to greenhouse gases

so may be rice should still be the staple, with some white corn flour in the early stage of the diet, or organic white corn flour.
