An 11-Year-Old Boy With Vision Loss

Cracked teeth don't heal. I wonder how many teeth he will lose before he figures it out.

Liz, I posted a comment on one of his earlier posts about vit. A. (He responded with, "thank you.") I have posted my experience on FB too. He's been doing a series on vit A which may have been triggered by my comments.

I remember him being extremely pro-A so if he has been doing a series of it, I am sure it is all pro-A as well. Which is sad, because as a scientist he really should keep an open mind. I remember dr G frowned upon this theory at first as well but when he started looking into it... Well, rest is history.

@tropico

Did you gain any weight when you increased the meat and oil?

Nope, with low A not gain weight despite fat increased, but in the past with low carb and high fat ( The Metabolic diet - Mauro Di Pasquale), YES , i gain weight, icreased acne e oily skin; I can't say if it's because of retinol or a hormonal change due to fats  stimulate androgens.

One more gem from Chris Masterjohn--he got spontaneous fractures in his teeth from 25,000 ius of vit. A a day, but continues to take more!! That's what I was taking when I got vit A poisoning:

How to Manage Your Vitamin A Status | Chris Masterjohn, PhD  chrismasterjohnphd.com/2018/08/16/manage-vitamin-status

“Vitamin A / Vitamin D ratio has been a mystery for me for a couple of years now, recommendations vary from 1:1 to 1:10 ratios. I am trying to improve my dental health, but with a Vitamin A dose of 25,000 and D 10,000 a day I got spontaneous fractures in my teeth, so I am following a 1:1 ratio now and will see how it goes.”

I thought Chris had written this, but is a comment by user Sherine, Chris suggests add vitamin K2.

However I notice his mental closeness about Vitamin A:

Several people (and experts) compare non-vitamin A theory to flat earth teory to discredit, they say that diet works because is an elimination diet... But my experience says the opposite, works with defatted dairy products, egg whites, gluten, Coca-cola etc. Only variable is to keep low vitamin A.

That’s my experience too and exactly why I chose to do it with a wider variety of foods.

I ate a ton of vitamin A and cartenoids, and when I started my D suppliments I also started noticing my teeth decay at an incredible speed with three months.  VA and synthetic D combo is bad news in my experience.

The present invention discloses a pharmaceutical composition and a method of treating retinoid induced pathogenesis. The pathological effect of retinoid is ameliorated by a suitable dose of a rescuing agent selected from the group consisting of choline chloride, methionine, betaine, biotin and inositol, the rescuing agent having the property of preventing formation of fatty liver.

I think Masterjohn is better off than most people with his high A intake since his entire diet seems to focus on nutrients that help deal with retinoids with a lot of animal proteins, eggs, dark leafy greens. These would provide ample amounts of choline, methionine, betaine, biotin and inositol.

I think many different diets can work out if they are well balanced between damaging and healing substances. I do not think though that this balance is easy to achieve.

Can we define a very low vitamin A diet that provides ample amounts of those same rescue compounds? What is missing in a diet made of say:

Beef, white and brown rice, black beans*, sauerkraut, sunflower lecithin?

Maybe include olive oil too? Then to cover all the bases, include supplements of zinc, vitamin C, and maybe brazil nuts / almonds as a safe source of vitamin E.

We can call this diet the “non-pharmaceutical rescue agent”.

*I know some people are reporting a bad reaction to the black beans. Thus, maybe the beans should not be included. But, if the beans are excluded then we’d probably need another source of calcium.

Grant

Did anyone say what problem they have with black beans? If you soak them for 12 to 24 hours with a little salt and vinegar before cooking, it will get rid of the anti-nutrients and they will not cause gas.

Thanks, Tropico, for clearing that up. I'll look for the comment from Sherine.

I tried K2 and minerals, lots of calcium and magnesium, didn't work. Vitamin A kept winning and I lost a wisdom tooth. Chris's advice will keep bumping into experiences from people in the real world.

I got pregnant with my second son after starting a WAPF inspired diet... so lots of dairy, butter, eggs, liver, and the dreaded cod liver oil. His teeth are extremely bad decayed almost as fast as they came in. I'm thinking enamel hypoplasia. He was a horrible sleeper, had acid reflux, and his behavior has been atrocious. I don't know why WAPF kept reporting extremely healthy babies on that diet! I had the opposite experience! He is healthy otherwise and only had a few little patches of eczema as a toddler, but that went away pretty quickly once summer came. But I'd rather he had bad skin so I had definitive proof vitamin A SUCKS.

Jenelle

My teeth were decaying faster than ever the past year from eating tons of sweet potatoes and eggs  and most likely living/sleeping in a high magnetic field. The no A diet while cutting out a lot of sugar has helped tremendously. And also not sleeping at my apt.   I was coming to terms of losing all my teeth and dentures but after two months , I have hope that I’ll have my teeth for a little while longer.

The sun may help fight against A toxicity. I always feel better with the sun and my skin improves.

I hope your son continues to improve with this new knowledge. EMF makes VA and D toxicity worse, it makes everything worse.
