Blood pressure and cholesterol levels
Quote from Bella on December 19, 2019, 10:47 am@Orion, I have decided to do the serum vitamin A and RBP in January. The RBP is a little more expensive than I realized and since January will be 18 months I think that makes more sense and gives me a bit more time to save up the $.

Hey @bella sounds good. Will be curious to see if the numbers have remained or gone down, you mentioned that low dose animal vitamin A is not giving you any side effects recently. VA daily or spread out more? Thanks

I am averaging 20-25% of my RDA according to cronometer but it's very sporadic. Some days none and other days more. My source is mainly butter but I do intermittently have cheese and eggs when I crave them. 🙂

Quote from Bella on January 9, 2020, 10:10 amDisappointed that my levels of serum vitamin A are still fairly high. Obviously I can maintain levels robustly even with keeping minimal intake (20% DV). If anyone one has insights or opinions I’d be grateful. I’m at 18 months low A and contemplating what to do next-whether to stay with my current intake or go down to near zero again.

How interesting @bella. I don’t know that I have any useful opinion, but someone over in Grant’s Mighty Network recently posted labs from early 2019 and now, showing that his serum vitamin A levels had increased a bit over the past year (they were higher than your current number to start with).
I don’t know what these levels mean. Does a “deficient” serum blood test = liver stores depleated? Or does it not accurately reflect that?

Quote from saraleah11 on February 2, 2020, 4:03 amI have had low to normal blood pressure 110/60 all my life. Been low A since July, full 6 months. My blood pressure was taken end of August and was also low normal.
BUT Two days ago, after only 6 months on low A, I went to a walk in clinic to have a splinter removed and my pressure was 155/90. I have never had a reading like this. I went to a pharmacy for a recheck the next day and it was 138/90. This is now considered level 1 hypertension.
I was shocked because I feel great, have lost weight, my auto immune disease is in remission. I don't have a lot of stress and I exercise daily. It was a scary wake up call and I am not sure what to do, and input would be appreciated. I am reluctant to eat red meat now.

Quote from ggenereux on February 2, 2020, 7:28 amHi @saraleah11,
Blood pressure values can vary a lot throughout the day. There are a lot of factors that affect it, such as stress levels and even pre-post meals reading vary, being at home versus in your Dr’s office, etc. So a few test points is not an accurate determination of a person’s true BP.
